The Top 7 were revealed in a live two-hour broadcast of “American Idol” Monday night. Host Ryan Seacrest called the Top 8 to the stage to perform in the “Judge’s Song Contest Night,” where Kaibrienne was eliminated. In a poll conducted just after the episode, we asked, “Which contestant gave the best performance of the night?” Platinum Ticket winner Abi Carter came out on top with her rendition of “Bring Me To Life” by Evanescence. Watch her full performance above.
Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie were gobsmacked by the performance, but Luke was especially happy since he chose the song. “I’ve created a monster!” he exclaimed before Katy added, “”You just kicked down all four walls of the box I thought you were in.”
After thousands of votes were recorded, Abi ended up with 33% of the tally, followed by Jack Blocker (“Always on My Mind”) with 21%, Emmy Russell...

The Group C final took place on “The Masked Singer” Wednesday night, with Lizard going home in third place after belting out “Bring Me to Life” by Evanescence. Clock and Poodle Moth advanced to the “Shower Anthems Night” Battle Royal, where Clock prevailed but judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora used the season’s one and only “Ding Dong Keep it On” bell to save Poodle Moth. While those two contestants advanced to the quarterfinals, Lizard was left to unmask, revealing Grammy-nominated singer Sisqo.
“My family loves the show,” he told host Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “Every time we saw a season everybody would always say, ‘Hey! That’s gotta be Sisqo!’ So when I got an opportunity to do it I seized it and it’s been really fun.” He added that during the smackdowns “the Lizard had to embody the spirit of the Dragon.

Rihanna‘s songs generally aren’t violent, one of her ballads was once called “Murderer.” Even more surprising than that, the song was inspired by the sound of rock band Evanescence. It’s pretty clear which Evanescence song inspired the “We Found Love” singer.
Rihanna’s song was written by 2 important artists
Stargate is a songwriting duo composed of Mikkel S. Eriksen and Tor E. Hermansen. They have produced numerous hit songs for Rihanna. Primarily, they write dance songs and ballads. During a 2010 interview with Sound on Sound, Eriksen recalled the writing of “Unfaithful.”
“Tor and I created the original track, which was dark and moody, taking our inspiration from the rock band Evanescence,” he recalled. “The song was originally called ‘Murderer.’ The first thing that we had was the piano melody and we created the whole structure of the song with just the piano, and then added the percussion and the strings.

You won’t find Evanescence singer Amy Lee chilling in da club with 50 Cent anytime soon. As the goth-rock vocalist explained in a new interview, the rapper “hates [her] guts.”
Fifty’s beef with Lee stems from the time he lost the Grammy for Best New Artist to Evanescence in 2004. Despite not being announced as the winner, 50 Cent still walked across the stage, making for an awkward moment during Evanescence’s acceptance speech.
When asked by Daily Beast about the incident, Lee responded, “50 Cent hates my guts,” adding, “It’s just one of those things… I mean, truthfully, we thought he was going to win, too. It was such a wild night. People are like, ‘What was it like to win a Grammy?’ and I’m like, ‘Stressful!’ I mean, it’s wonderful now, to have them, but it was surreal… I just remember thinking, ‘I don’t even think...

Video games have the ability to transport players to interactive worlds beyond their wildest imagination, defeat bosses to become the hero they wish they could be in real life, and step inside an identity that they wouldn't otherwise understand. Or, in the case of a game like "Twisted Metal," drive an armored ice cream truck and blow up enemies with a remote-controlled rocket launcher. The vehicular combat video game was the lifeblood of the Dorito-dusted finger lickers of America in the late '90s and early 00s, and while there is a story players can follow ... most people opt to obliterate their pals with nuclear weapons. Yet, somehow, Peacock adapted the game into one of the most entertaining new series of the year.

"Unless you are vigilant, you will drown in fear." Adult Swim has debuted a trailer for an animated release titled Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar, a feature film spin-off from the animated series called "Metalocalypse". Originally premiering on Adult Swim in 2006, it ran for four seasons with another special Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem (in 2013). The series was created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blancha, and this new movie is written & directed by Small. Can Nathan Explosion look beyond his brutally damaged ego to save his band, stop the Metalocalypse, and finally face the ultimate evil: Salacia? The movie stars the voices of Brendon Small, Tommy Blacha, Victor Brandt, Stephen "Thundercat" Bruner (Grammy Award-winning musician), King Diamond (King Diamond; Mercyful Fate), plus Mark Hamill, Kirk Hammett, Jon Hamm, Scott Ian (Anthrax), Amy Lee (Evanescence), Malcolm McDowell, Juliet Mills, Laraine Newman (SNL), and Livia Zita (2022 winner - Society of Voice Arts and Sciences Award). One of John Lennon’s proudest songwriting moments was “Across the Universe.” It’s a song that came to him out of the blue, and it struck a chord with audiences upon its release. However, Lennon was “disappointed” with the final product, believing the song was “never done properly.”

Can you guess our pick for the best performance of the season? Better yet: Can you guess the One male vocalist who made our list?
Maybe you’re done with the twelfth season of American Idol, but I’m not. Before we officially switch off our DVR season pass and lock ourselves in for So You Think You Can Dance, let’s take one last look at the low-rated, but luckily lady-dominated season and pick the 10 best performances.
10. Kree Harrison, “What the World Needs Now”
Kree really impressed me with song choices early on in the series. This girl chose two Susan Tedeschi songs. She picked an effing Faith Hill song that ended up being great and original. And most impressively, she chose this sung-to-death Bacharach tune and improved on its original version (by the lovable Jackie DeShannon) by rendering the song in her glum, disarmingly unembellished voice. Starting out in a cappella?...

Veteran's Day brought out the patriotic side on "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars" and allowed the seven remaining couples to show off their skills in two routines each. With the upcoming double elimination, the pressure was on for the contestants to give it their all and perform to the fullest. Each couple performed their standard couple routine, but additionally, each was thrown another professional dancer to create a trio performance, making for some very interesting dynamics and unique routines. With the competition heating up, even the judges seemed to be cracking under the pressure. Almost every routine left the judges split and tensions were running high. So who managed to shine? And whose performance was lackluster? Find out below.

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani: Melissa continues to make her way to the top of the all-stars. Her quickstep with Tony stole the show and the judges loved it.

So last night I was watching a little bit of So You Think You Can Dance (loooong story... don't ask) when I came across something that was actually interesting: two separate acts who have developed "horror-style" dances. The first one is "Zombie," in which dancer Stepheon Stewart contorts like he is possessed. In the second one, "Exorcist Style," dancer Hampton Williams needs to borrow your soul - he'll give it right back. Try not to let the Evanescence soundtrack get you down.

"That was interesting," said 50, who has crashed some awards-show stages himself in the past. "When you're nominated for the first time ... what you saw from me in 2004 was the Grammys. When I went up, Evanescence won Best New Artist and it was like, I'd sold 12 million records. That's the largest debuting hip-hop album today and I was overlooked and I still don't have a Grammy.
