Bo Cruz Hits the Big Time Faster Than You Can Say ‘Cut’ So, Adam Sandler’s latest hoop dreams flick, ‘Hustle’, gives us Bo Cruz, a guy who leaps from streetball nobody to NBA prospect faster than you can say ‘traveling violation’. But let’s be real, Bo Cruz’s Instant Success is more fairytale than documentary. I mean, if making it to the NBA was as easy as getting ‘discovered’ by a down-and-out scout, we’d all be dunking on LeBron. Hollywood loves an underdog story, but this one’s got more cheese than a stadium nacho stand. Training Montages Are Cute But Real...

Hollywood has produced a number of prolific actors over the years, but few can rival Matt Damon in terms of fame and popularity. The Bourne Legacy actor is one of the most popular actors who keeps adding a wide collection of films to his stellar resume. 2023 has been incredible for the actor as he worked in the sports biopic Air and Christopher Nolan’s biographical epic Oppenheimer.
Adrian Grenier as Vincent Chase in Entourage
However, none of these films compare to his one cameo scene in the 6th season of Entourage. Matt Damon’s angry rant in the cameo scene was epic, and it led to a hilarious reaction from the fans, as the emotions were raw and unfiltered, perfectly fitting the scene. Fans could not get enough and they believed it was the best cameo in the history of TV Series.

I vividly remember the first time I saw a Black woman in a toothpaste ad.
There I sat on our shag carpet, my goldfish behind me and a poster of The Fonz just steps away, taped to my bedroom door. I was watching TV and suddenly a beautiful woman in a short natural filled my screen, her teeth perfect and gleaming. I sat, mesmerized, and watched her shine. When her 30 seconds were up, I raced back to tell my mother: “Mamma, there was a Black woman on TV!”
All Gen X kids timed their day around Saturday morning cartoons, Zoom and Kids Are People Too. After, we rode our bikes till the streetlights came on. For Black Gen X, the jumble of Huffies, Big Wheels and metal skates on someone’s front yard let the little kids know it was time for Fat Albert, What’s Happening! or Good Times.

"He can win you a state championship - guaranteed." NBC's Peacock has revealed a main official trailer for a film titled Shooting Stars, a docu-drama event about LeBron's high school days. This looks way better than most are probably expecting. Based on the book by LeBron James & the Pulitzer Prize winning author of Friday Night Lights, Buzz Bissinger, Shooting Stars is the inspiring origin story of a legendary basketball superhero, revealing how LeBron James and his childhood friends become the #1 high school team in the country. This early fete would launch James’s breathtaking career as a four-time NBA Champion, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. The film stars Wood Harris, newcomer Marquis "Mookie" Cook as a young LeBron, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalie Paul, Algee Smith, with Dermot Mulroney, Khalil Everage, Sterling "Scoot" Henderson, Katlyn Nichol, and Avery S. When basketball fans gather to discuss the Greatest of All Time, the debates tend to be comparative. Russell vs. Wilt. Magic vs. Bird. The search for The Next Jordan or The Next Kobe or The Next LeBron.
The Current LeBron is still active in his own portion of the Goat conversation, presumably by virtue of his status as producer on Starz’s Survivor’s Remorse. But the newest TV series from James’ SpringHill company is more likely to evoke comparisons than any direct declarations of greatness. My notes on Disney+’s eight-episode The Crossover are scattered with references to other shows that the family basketball drama brought to mind.
It doesn’t quite achieve the lyrical poeticism of OWN’s David Makes Man or the earnest adolescent sincerity of Freevee’s High School or the proficiently executed basketball rush of Apple TV+’s Swagger or the enticing time-jumping mystery of The WB’s Jack & Bobby.
