After he was forced to withdraw from the Masters Tournament earlier this month due to an injury, Tiger Woods revealed on Wednesday that he had to undergo surgery to fix a pre-existing condition.
“Earlier today, Tiger underwent a subtalar fusion procedure to address his post-traumatic arthritis from his previous talus fracture,” Woods’ team tweeted on Wednesday. “It was performed by Dr. Martin O’Malley at Hss Sports Medicine Institute in New York City. He has determined the surgery to be successful.”
“Tiger is currently recovering and looks forward to beginning his rehabilitation,” the message continued. According to FootcareMD.org, a subtalar fusion surgery, which addresses damaged joints near the ankle, “locks bones together and is appropriate for diseased joints that can’t be replaced. Once a fusion heals together, it acts as one unit and can restore function and provide significant pain relief.”

With only four days to go before the first Democratic debate in Las Vegas, CNN turned its pre-debate coverage to 11 on Friday by channeling the late gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson. At least, that's what Being Moody host Chris Moody tried to do when he interviewed former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley dressed as actor Johnny Depp's take on Thompson from the 1998 film, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Former Baltimore Mayor and potential 2016 Democratic candidate Martin O'Malley received some attention last week, but not the kind he wanted, as his tenure came under scrutiny as the backstory to the inequality and tension between Baltimore's African American community and law enforcement. On Meet the Press Sunday morning, host Chuck Todd asked if he could "still run on his record."...

"House of Cards" Season 3 is taking a cue from the pages of its scripts -- production on the new season of the hit Netflix series is being delayed until June due to two bills involving TV production tax breaks being debated in the Maryland legislature.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the show's production company, Media Rights Capital, is threatening to leave Maryland and shoot Season 3 somewhere else if the state does not come up with $15 million in tax credits for the production. The show received $11 million in credits for Season 1 and about $15 million for Season 2.
State lawmakers have not yet agreed to increase the cap of $7.5 million in tax credits currently available for production, and two separate bills, one that would increase the ceiling to $11 million and one to $18.5 million, are currently in committee.
According to economic development officials, "House of Cards" has "created nearly 6,000 jobs and pumped more...

Rick Perry's comment during last night's debate about starting foreign aid to all nations at zero certainly raised some eyebrows, but particularly when he included Israel, a country with a special relationship to the United States, in that list. Governors Haley Barbour and Martin O'Malley reacted to Perry's position on Face the Nation today; one arguing Perry's proposal has historical bipartisan precedent, the other arguing it was an attempt to pander to right-wing extremists.
