The Hollywood filmmaking community remembered Roger Corman today as a man who had a “can-do” attitude about making movies. Along the way, he touched many lives, blazing a path for newcomers to enter the business and others to keep the lights on through his relentless drive to produce films.
Amid that hustle, he was remembered as a kind man who had a passion for what he did.
Here are some of the reactions:
Robert De Niro:
“ I’m sorry to hear of the passing of Roger. He started many of us over the years. He was a legend. May he rest in peace.”
Roger Corman was my very first boss, my lifetime mentor and my hero. Roger was one of the greatest visionaries in the history of cinema. I am absolutely devastated by his loss and send my love and deepest condolences to the Corman family. #Rip #RogerCorman pic.

A still from Spider-Man: No Way Home
While all of this contributes to a promising storyline, it looks like there might be some bad news for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4, according to some sources. We all know that No Way Home set the bar quite high for all the superhero movies that will come after it. Thanks to this, the expectations for the sequel have been higher than ever but it seems as if Spider-Man 4 could be...

Killers of the Flower Moon. Interviewed by the Hollywood Reporter at the film’s Los Angeles premiere, Osage language consultant Christopher Cote shared his thoughts on Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. “As an Osage, I really wanted this to be from the perspective of Mollie and what her family experienced, but I think it would take an Osage to do that,” Cote said from the red carpet, referencing Lily Gladstone’s character in the film. “Martin Scorsese, not being Osage, I think he did a great job representing our people, but this history is being told almost from the perspective of [Mollie’s husband] Ernest Burkhart and they kind of give him this conscience and kind of depict that there’s love. But when somebody conspires to murder your entire family, that’s not love. That’s not love, that’s just beyond abuse.”Cote continued:i think in the end,...

Two years ago, Jodie Comer won an Emmy for her intoxicating portrayal of the villainous antiheroine Villanelle in BBC America’s “Killing Eve”. She beat out the likes of not only past Emmy champs Viola Davis and Laura Linney, but also her own co-star Sandra Oh, who many predicted would triumph over the English newcomer.
Comer could go from Emmy glory to Oscar recognition this year with her acclaimed starring role in Ridley Scott’s medieval epic “The Last Duel.” She portrays Marguerite de Carrouges, a fiercely defiant woman who sacrifices her own life for the sake of truth. She attempts to bring justice upon a charming but untrustworthy squire, Jacques le Gris (Adam Driver), whom she accuses of brutally assaulting her within the confines of her own chamber while her husband, Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon) was selfishly away in Paris.
