Adam Lambert has managed to speed through every stage of fame during his brief time as a celebrity. He's been loved by his fans, hated by his critics, released an album and hit the road for his first headlining tour. And Lambert has managed to deal with all the pressures of fame thanks to some great advice he's gotten from two very famous ladies.
"She told me about the previous three years. She worked really, really hard before she made it. She told me there's no glamour, you don't get a lot of sleep, you don't get a lot of stability in your social life — you just have to count on yourself and go for it. It was a good pep talk," Lambert told Australia's news.

While it has yet to be confirmed whether Justin Bieber and his "Baby" co-star and current My World tour opener Jasmine Villegas are dating, she opened up about the pop star in a new interview. She never mentioned their current romantic status, but she did note that Bieber is as real as it gets.
"Well, let's see, [what's] something that I would know about Justin ... He's just an outgoing person. He's funny," she told Bop and Tiger Beat in an interview posted online. "He's just so random, but I think everybody would know that.
"There's not much that I would know that people don't know because Justin is just 100 percent [real] with his fans and his friends and he gives everybody his full personality," she dished. "So...

At auditions for the singing competition Tuesday (August 3) in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Seacrest told The Associated Press that he wasn't quite sure how the recent departures would be filled.
Both Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres have left the show, and Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez are their rumored replacements. Fox has declined to comment on whether Randy Jackson or Kara DioGuardi will be back for this upcoming season.

Fans and bloggers aren't the only ones sharing their reactions to the news that Ellen DeGeneres is leaving "American Idol" after just one season. Fellow departed judge Simon Cowell and current host Ryan Seacrest have also revealed their feelings about the news.
Cowell, who left the show after last season, seemed to imply that he thinks DeGeneres is making the right move. "As I got to know Ellen, I grew to really, really like her," Cowell said in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter. "I have huge respect for her because she's always been in control of her own destiny."
Ryan Seacrest also dished his two cents on the comedian's unexpected exit. The host took to Twitter on Thursday night with nothing but kind words for his colleague.

Vince Gilligan (photo credit: Kevin Parry)
Is your head still spinning after the shocking conclusion to season 3 of Breaking Bad? Are you wondering if Jesse really did what you think he did? Once you've read my review of the episode, check out what creator/showrunner Vince Gilligan had to say about that final scene and writing the show in general in an interview with The Av Club.
Gilligan addressing what really happened in the final scene:
To me, for what it’s worth, it’s not actually meant to be ambiguous. It’s meant to be, “Oh my god, Jesse shot poor Gale.” But I’m realizing now that when people see the camera come dollying around so it’s looking down the barrel of the gun, some are reading that as maybe he’s changing his point of aim. But that’s not what we intended. Apparently it’s...

'Ted' will be a live-action movie with a CG bear voiced by MacFarlane.

Photo: Kevin Parry/ WireImage
"Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane has signed with Universal to make his directorial debut on an R-rated comedy titled "Ted." The story follows a man and his relationship with his teddy bear, a CG creation that will be voiced by MacFarlane.
Deadline New York reports that the script comes from a collaboration between "Family Guy" writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, and MacFarlane, who will also produce. The hope is that the producer/director/co-star will be able to make the time to get production under way this year, while still supervising and providing voices for "Family Guy," "The Cleveland Show" and "American Dad."
Fox apparently still wants to make a "Family Guy" movie for theaters (so far, the series' long-form specials have been direct-to-video affairs), but now "Ted" will come first.

When Ryan Seacrest stopped by "American Idol" judge Ellen DeGeneres' talk show for an episode airing on Tuesday (April 6), he answered some of the fans' burning questions and addressed his seemingly antagonistic relationship with Simon Cowell.
"We're roommates," Seacrest joked, before explaining that their relationship this season is no different than in past seasons, but the difference in the audience's perception might just be visual. "They built this great little bridge — it used to be like a moat between the stage and the judges' table. But now there is this bridge, and sometimes it is hard to hear in there, so I approached ... the bench a few times, which makes [Simon] really uncomfortable ... which makes me happy.

Cowell and Seacrest went toe-to-toe twice this week; our human-behavior expert gives their relationship a closer look.
By Gil Kaufman

Aside from the whole singing-for-a-shot-at-stardom part of the show, "American Idol" has long featured a parallel story line chronicling the sometimes awkward, schoolyard-bully relationship between top-dog judge Simon Cowell and host Ryan Seacrest.
Over the years, that battle for supremacy between arguably the most important person on the show, established TV/music mogul Cowell, and Seacrest, who has his own ever-expanding media empire, has featured insults, vaguely sexual jibes and a whiff of condescension from Cowell amid a general sense of friendly rivalry.
But this week, that tension boiled over not once but twice during the live programs in two incidents at the top of the shows that human-behavior expert Patrick Wanis said revealed a lot about the uneasy dynamic between the men.

Sean Hayes, who famously played the over-the-top sidekick on NBC's "Will & Grace," told — well, strongly hinted to, at least — The Advocate that he's gay.
He joked throughout the interview, saying, "That song! So romantic for our interview!" when a Frank Sinatra tune came on. He later said — after the interviewer ordered the same dish he did — "It must be a gay thing: the pasta with chicken. It's all the craze!"
He was a little more straightforward when he said, "I am who I am. I was never in, as they say. Never."
Hayes also took the gay media to task for criticizing actors who aren't 100 percent open about their sexuality. "I feel like I've contributed monumentally to the success of the gay movement in America, and if anyone wants to argue that,...

If there's a poster boy for success in 2009, it's probably Adam Lambert. Over the course of 12 months, he went from unknown L.A. theater kid to #3 on MTV News' Man of the Year list. His personal life filled the tabloids, his performances riled up the censors, and his talents — not just as a singer, but as a showman — won him millions of devoted fans.
And while Lambert was one of the biggest names in pop culture this year, we had to ask for his impressions of 2009. Who inspired him? Who pushed him to be great? And what was on his iPod? Here's what he told us:
Song of the Year
"Oh, it's difficult for me to pick one, because I make lists," Lambert told MTV News.

With the release of his debut album, For Your Entertainment, slated for next week, Adam Lambert is everywhere these days. But one place he hasn't been before is on the cover of Out magazine, the country's leading gay publication. Wearing a tuxedo and a quizzical look, Lambert posed for the "Out 100" issue alongside comedian Wanda Sykes, gay icon Cyndi Lauper, former Army lieutenant and "Don't ask, don't tell" opponent Daniel Choi, and "Chicago" director Rob Marshall.
One misconception Lambert dealt with early in the interview was the suspicion from some gay fans that he dropped not-so-subtle, winking hints about his sexuality on "American Idol" before officially coming out of the closet after the program ended.

In the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, Lambert says he was influenced by the Killers and Muse for the yet-untitled LP. "It's as if a '70s time capsule blasted off into space and you're watching it through a holographic filter," he said. "That's my big vision. ... Glam is back, mother----ers."
Lambert told the magazine that he struggled while deciding on a sound for the album. "When I got off the 'Idol' tour, I had a little identity crisis," he explained. "I was like, 'What do I wanna do?' "

Though the filmmakers behind the big-screen adaptation of Lauren Conrad's "L.A. Candy" are nowhere near the casting stage, the author herself has offered a suggestion as to who she'd like to see in the flick. Conrad joked to MTV News that she wants her roommate, friend and former "Hills" castmate Lo Bosworth on board, but Bosworth isn't sure she's ready for her close-up.
"It was more of a joke than anything," Lo told E! News when asked about the report that Lauren invited her to star in the film. "We were on the red carpet together and they were like, 'Who do you want to be in the movie?' I would love to make a cameo, but I don't...

Sorry, hip-hop fans — it doesn't look like the Jay-z/ 50 Cent chart showdown will be happening after all.
The rappers won't go head-to-head when The Blueprint 3 and Before I Self Destruct debut in September. Jay has settled on September 11, while 50 Cent told MTV News last week that his album is coming on the last Tuesday of the month.
50 said that if by any chance he and Jay did drop on the same day, he would welcome the challenge.
"I wouldn't mind [that], either," Fif said via phone. "But it's just, the scheduling is different. Maybe he'll move back. ... Yeah, it'd be good."
50 came out on September 11 a couple of years ago, releasing Curtis at the same time Kanye West's Graduation hit stores. Graduation sold more the first week,...

Singer will make her big-screen debut in modern-day musical.
By Elisabeth Rappe
Christina Aguilera

Though Christina Aguilera seems omnipresent with her music, jewelry, perfume and numerous endorsement deals, the songstress superstar has never actually been in a movie. She's lent her voice to "Shark Tale," and she was featured in Martin Scorcese's Rolling Stones documentary, "Shine a Light," but she's never gotten to be anyone but herself onscreen.
But now, she's getting her chance to test her talents as an actress. According to Variety, Aguilera will make her big-screen debut in "Burlesque," a contemporary musical.
Aguilera will play "an ambitious, small-town girl with a big voice" who aspires to stardom (as all ambitious, small-town girls do) and finds work at a neo-burlesque club in Los Angeles inspired by Bob Fosse's "Cabaret." Things apparently turn out all right for the determined singer, because she ends up finding love,...
