The Bold and the Beautiful writers are going back nearly two decades.
Viewers who watch Bold and its sister soap, The Young and the Restless, will remember Sugar (Kimberlin Brown).
Those who don’t may need a refresher on how it’s possible Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) isn’t really dead.
There was a reason Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) found herself in Los Angeles last week. It wasn’t just celebrating Sheila’s passing or checking on Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). The plan was to jog viewers’ memories and make the connection with Sugar.
Deacon (Sean Kanan) mentioned that Sheila acted funny just before her altercation with Steffy. She would disappear, and he was curious about where she’d go. Sheila’s only response was she was connecting with someone from her past.
And now we know that someone was likely Sugar.

The Dance of the Dead episode of Best Horror Movie You Never Saw was Written by Cody Hamman, Narrated by Jason Hewlett, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by John Fallon and Tyler Nichols, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Did you ever wonder what it would be like if the zombie apocalypse coincided with prom night? The dead rising from their graves, calling out for brains. Disrupting the school event that’s supposed to be a great, memorable moment in a teen’s life. That’s what happens in the 2008 film Dance of the Dead (watch it Here). Which would have been a great sequel to The Return of the Living Dead if it were part of that franchise. And if you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely The Best Horror Movie You Never Saw.
Although Dance of the Dead was released in 2008, the first draft of the screenplay was written eleven years earlier.

Even as the comic-book universes do their part with a panopoly of multiracial characters, superhero movies fail to keep up. Box office triumphs from Disney’s Marvel and Warner Bros. Discovery’s DC overwhelmingly center on white, heterosexual, male superheroes, even though it’s been confirmed (and reconfirmed) that diversity sells.
There’s some progress: On the horizon are Destin Daniel Cretton’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” a “Ms. Marvel” Disney+ series starring Marvel’s first Muslim character to headline her own comic book, and the Chloé Zhao-directed “Eternals.” On the DC side, Angel Manuel Soto (“Charm City Kings”) will direct “Blue Beetle,” the studio’s first Latinx superhero movie, but there’s room for much more. Each sequel, prequel, and spin-off provides an opportunity for the introduction of new, original characters of color that could shake up the superhero landscape.

For those of you who were fans of Fox’s Marvel series The Gifted, I’ve got some bad news for you. The network has canceled the series, and it will not be back for a third season.
The family adventure series was set in the X-Men universe, and I actually liked the first two seasons. I thought the show was decent, but it’s not surprising that Fox would cancel it, especially after the Disney deal closed. After all, Marvel Studios is going to eventually completely reboot the X-Men franchise.
According to the report, though, “there is a chance for The Gifted to find a new home within the Disney family.” But there are no discussions happening, and I doubt that they will.
The Gifted was produced by Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb, and Jim Chory, and it was developed by Matt Nix (Burn Notice...

The Gifted has been nixed after two seasons...
Sad news for fans of The Gifted - Fox has cancelled the X-Men series after two decent seasons.
Variety announced that the decision has been made to end the show this week. We'd previously learned that Legion, over on FX, is also being wrapped up, as both Netflix and Fox say goodbye to their Marvel titles ahead of Disney's decision to launch its own streaming service this November.
Set in the X-Men universe and focusing on a family on the run from the government after finding out that its youngest members have super powers, Matt Nix's The Gifted was an ongoing tale of mutant survival that had a strong fan base, but the series' ratings weren't terrific during its second season, dropping to 1.95 million from a strong audience of 3.31 million in the first season.

There are some big changes coming to Fox as it heads into its first full season as an independent TV station.
The network has canceled The Gifted after two low-rated seasons, Variety is reporting.
The Gifted starred Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker as parents who learn that their children have mutant abilities.
As such, they go on the run and find themselves joining a network of superheroes who are also in hiding.
Related: Fox Reveals Fate of The Resident and 9-1-1
Natalie Alyn Lind, Percy Hynes White, Sean Teale, Coby Bell, Jamie Chung, Blair Redford, and Emma Dumont were also part of the show's expansive cast.
The Gifted Season 2 got off to a sluggish start in the ratings last fall. When it wrapped earlier this year, it averaged a mere 2 million total viewers and a 0.6 rating.
These numbers presented declines of over 40 percent year-to-year in both metrics, proving that the series was losing steam.

The cast of Fox’s X-Men spinoff series, The Gifted, comment on the show’s approach to the mutant movie series.
The Gifted kicked off its sophomore season on Fox as a series evolved in the aftermath of a transformative Season 1 finale. Yet, the show’s unmistakable connection to the 800 lb. gorilla that is (Fox’s) X-Men movie universe continues to thrive, even though the connection remains unclear. Interestingly, members of the cast recently weighed in on the shared-universe conundrum.
Indeed, speculation about the connection of The Gifted to the X-Men movies is not going anywhere just yet. The subject was the topic of an interview with Digital Spy, in which cast members – who each play characters prominently picked from the mythos of Marvel’s X-Men comic books – discuss how the series work around the movies. Blair Redford, who plays James Proudstar/Thunderbird, reveals that characters who...

Who’s really to blame for things going so sideways for the Mutant Underground in Season 1 of The Gifted?
Was it the Struckers who upended Marcos & Co.’s “best life”? Does it date a bit further back to Blink’s arrival? Or did Thunderbird ultimately not run a proper HQ?
Indeed, there was some playful finger pointing going on when several cast members from the Fox series visited TVLine’s San Diego Comic-Con suite to, yes, reflect on the setbacks suffered by the Underground, but also preview Season 2.

Grace Byers is staying in the Fox fold, with the now former “Empire” actress joining the Fox-Marvel series “The Gifted” for its upcoming second season.
Byers will play Reeva, described as a smart, charming, authoritative, elegant, beautiful woman who is ruthless in her efforts to fight for her people. She leads an elite band of followers and has a soft spot for her new recruits, but is still capable of extreme violence in defense of her vision.

I didn’t know anything about Dance of the Dead when I first saw it sitting on the "new releases" shelf at the local Blockbuster in the fall of 2008. But its title intrigued me: zombies and a high school prom in one movie? You didn’t have to twist my arm (or rip it off), I knew right then that I had to watch it (and I hadn't even seen the devil bong yet).
After watching empathetic high school cliques unite to slay zombies at the prom, I would go on to recommend director Gregg Bishop and writer Joe Ballarini’s Dance of the Dead to anyone who would listen. Little did I know that stars were aligning, and years later I would connect with Ballarini and Bishop and get the chance to do what my 17-year-old self never thought was possible: host 10th anniversary screenings of Dance of the Dead.

I've actually really enjoyed the Marvel X-Men-inspired series The Gifted. Fox seems to be happy with how it's doing in the ratings because they have officially confirmed that it will be coming back for a second season.
This is great! I'm happy that we will get to see the story continue with these characters. The thirteen episode first season isn't over yet. There will be a two-hour finale set for January 15th.
I wasn't sure what would happen with this show, especially since Disney bought Fox, but it doesn't look like that is going to affect the series... yet. Hopefully, the series will have a long life... if it continues to stay good.
The Gifted is produced by Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory, and the second season will be a part of the 2018-19 release season.

The Mutant revolution will continue to fight equality on season 2 of The Gifted
Created by Matt Nix (Burn Notice) The Gifted has been a breath of fresh air for the X-Men Universe. However with the merger of 20th Century Fox and Disney, the future of the show has been up in the air. What would happen to the Mutant Underground that has been fighting for Mutant rights all season? Until today the future was still in questions. However, Fox has announced that they have ordered a second season of The Gifted.
The Gifted had strong ties to the Fox X-Men Universe with the pilot being directed by original X-Men helmer Bryan Singer, as well as it's producers Lauren Shuler Donner, and Simon Kinberg, with Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory working on the project. Being the second Mutant televison to hit the small screen, after Legion with hit early 2017 to high praise.

The living dead launching out of their graves, zombie frogs getting revenge on the science teacher, and one epic cover of Pat Benatar's "Shadows of the Night"—these are only a few of the countless elements I love about Dance of the Dead, a midnight movie masterpiece that pits a diverse group of high schoolers and their surly gym teacher against a horde of the living dead at the prom. Directed by Gregg Bishop and written by Joe Ballarini, Dance of the Dead celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2018, and while speaking with him about his new book earlier this year, I had the great pleasure of also talking with Ballarini about writing Dance of the Dead and how the cult zombie movie changed from its initial conception to its final version on the big screen.

The Gifted is a show that maybe about mutants and their powers, but it is more than just another X-Men themed show. It is about family, and this week we see how the Strucker parents have to adapt to the fact their children are different. If you are a fan of The Gifted, then you’ll probably feel the same way as me when I think it is time Stephen Moyer’s character was out of jail. Thankfully it appears the mutants have an eXit Strategy to get not only Reed (Moyer’s character) but Polaris (Emma Dumont) too.
Plans are put into motion this week to save Reed and Polaris from Sentinel Services. To do this though Eclipse (Sean Teale) must take a trip back to old friends he thought he left behind. When the plans are put into motion, another long-lost friend makes an appearance too, threatening the plan.

When I watched the first episode of The Gifted, one of the things I worried about was the lack of focus on family. Now that we are into the third episode though, thankfully, family is where it is finding its strength. Most importantly it is what is giving the story the much-needed heart.
In an attempt to reunite with his family, Reed Strucker (Stephen Moyer) makes a deal with Sentinel Services. Meanwhile his wife Kate (Amy Acker) takes Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White) away from the compound looking to her family for help.
This week the theme of family is the focus, not only the Strucker family, but also for other characters. When Reed makes a deal with the Sentinel Services he not only puts his own family in danger, but also other innocent families that put their trust in him.
