Another well-known star is joining 2024's most highly anticipated spinoff!
It was announced today that Walking Dead regular Josh McDermitt has been cast on Suits: LA.
McDermitt, who started out as a standup comic, played Eugene Porter on 85 episodes of the long-running AMC drama.
He joins Arrow star Stephen Amell, who was previously announced as one of the series leads.
As we discussed earlier this week, the casting of Suits: LA has elicited a mixed reaction on social media.
To put it bluntly, some fans are not happy with the idea that the show will be structured around Amell's character.
According to press releases, Amell will play Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who moves to LA to start his own firm, Black Lane Law, specializing in criminal and entertainment law.
Obviously, the intersection of those two areas of the law will make for countless story opportunities.

A legendary New York gossip columnist, who has broken some of the most significant celebrity stories of the past four decades, appears to be no fan of Prince Harry. She claimed he “resembles a jerk in two countries” in her opinion column.
Cindy Adams takes aim at Prince Harry
Cindy Adams, a legendary gossip columnist in New York City, took aim at Prince Harry in an opinion piece published in The New York Post. Her remarks regarding the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, appeared less than complimentary.
Adams wrote, “Those claiming to know say whispers about Meghan and her non-prince of a guy are getting louder. Like how now, they’re not insanely euphoric yippee happy with their lives, or lies, or whatever.”
The columnist continued, “He dislikes California. There’s the London drama. He now resembles a jerk in two countries.”
She added, “Plus, they’ve fallen on their assets professionally.

Once upon a time before she married a prince, Meghan Markle was a working actor who starred in the legal drama Suits. The now-duchess played Rachel Zane on the series from 2011 to 2018. Meghan left the show before her royal wedding to Prince Harry, an affair that her Suits co-stars attended.
The show had a resurgence in 2023 when it became available on the streaming platforms Netflix and Peacock. And now, there’s even a new reboot in the works titled Suits: LA. Because of that, there’s been speculation about whether Harry’s wife or any of her castmates will make a cameo in the new series. Meghan’s former co-stars haven’t had any contact with her though, and one even admitted he’s “scared” to talk to her now. Here’s more on that.

Suits stars Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht reunited for T-Mobile’s star-studded Super Bowl ad on Sunday, February 11, but that might not be the only reunion in the works. The new commercial features various stars auditioning to take over from Bradley Cooper (and his mother) as the face(s) of T-Mobile. This includes Laura Dern trying to cry on cue, Jennifer Hudson presenting her whistling talents, and Common performing a dramatic movie scene. As for Adams and Macht, their portion of the commercial sees them filming an audition tape in a garage, with Macht taking on the role of “Phone Boy” as the pair highlight the phone company’s Magenta Status program. The Hollywood Reporter was on set as Adams and Macht filmed their scene and asked about the resurgence of their USA Network show Suits. Jenna Ortega and Danny Ramirez are about to learn that it’s not an abuela’s “chancla” you have to fear, but rather what happens when you come between her and her Doritos Dinamita.
In a 60-second-long Super Bowl ad, the “Wednesday” and “Scream” star’s grandmothers — and impeccably well-dressed, pantsuited Doritos Dinamita brand characters Dina and Mita (Olivia Negron and Patricia Mauceri) — chase after Ramirez after he takes the last bag of the coveted Doritos at a local supermarket.
From crashing into Ramirez’s car on their electric scooters to breaking into an apartment for a karate fight, only to then zip-line from it and down to the streets below to continue their chase — all while still having time to coo el “nieto” — Dina and Mita prove they’ll stop at nothing to secure their spicy chips.

Upon delving into the second episode of Sight Unseen‘s debut season, I found myself grappling with a sense of subdued satisfaction. The initial thrill that gripped me in the first episode was missing here. Instead, the narrative delved into a seemingly straightforward investigation of Charles Adams’ murder, connected to a familial feud where Detective Tess adeptly untangled the web surrounding Hannah’s hit-and-run. Detective Tess, though initially hesitant to rejoin the force, got back in the game with a little nudge from Sunny Patel from the EyesUp app. However, the journey lacked gripping intensity, and the whole story lacked that edge-of-your-seat excitement. No cool fights, no crazy drama—just a run-of-the-mill detective gig. Even though the revelations were interesting, they just didn’t pack the same punch. I was waiting for that heart-pounding moment, you know? Instead, it was more like a detective snoozefest, opting for a simpler, more mediocre detective investigation.

When Suits suddenly became the hottest TV series of the summer — despite coming to an end over four years ago — NBC wasted little time in approaching series creator Aaron Korsh about developing a new spinoff series. Well, the Suits spinoff has now been given an official pilot order from NBC, as well as a title: Suits: L.A.
Suits: L.A. will follow Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself by representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. “His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career,” reads the official description. “Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. Okay, maybe the summer of "Suits" wasn't a fluke after all. Less than a year after the long-running USA Network legal drama took Netflix by storm, raking in some of the streamers' biggest viewership numbers in recent memory, NBC has ordered a pilot for a "Suits" spinoff set in Los Angeles (per Entertainment Weekly).
EW is reporting that the new "Suits" series -- which, in the style of many a procedural spinoff before it, is titled "Suits: LA" -- will feature a brand new character named Ted Black, and production on the pilot is set to begin in Vancouver next month. Original series creator Aaron Korsh is returning to write and executive produce the show, while EW also previously reported that cast members from the previous series could return at some point in the future.

If there’s one word to describe Paul Giamatti’s most common type of role, it’s “curmudgeon.” The Yale-trained actor has the extraordinary range needed to take on various parts, but his most famous characters tend to have sharp minds and even sharper tongues. His most acclaimed roles, like the wine aficionado Miles in “Sideways,” are irritable and short-tempered with an arrogance and wit that masks their more sensitive interiors.
Giamatti’s latest role leans into that casting type harder than almost any of his other parts, and has clinched the actor his first ever Best Actor nomination. The legal drama, which first premiered in 2011, was a hit with fans throughout its nine seasons thanks in part to its charismatic ensemble, which includes Patrick J. Adams, Gina Torres, Gabriel Macht, and Meghan Markle. Its arrival on Netflix last summer made the show a hit all over again, and excitement around it is still going strong — with a spin-off series reportedly in development and cast members Macht, Torres, Adams, and Sarah Rafferty reuniting at the 2024 Golden Globes.
