There may be no more natural pairing for CMT Crossroads than Nickelback and Hardy. Both appeal to country and rock audiences, both worked with producer Joey Moi, and both have a song called “Rockstar.” On April 6, they’ll mash up their respective styles — and their “Rockstar” singles — for an episode of CMT’s crossover performance series.
Recorded in Nashville earlier in March, the episode features Hardy and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger trading verses on Nickelback’s “Save Me” and “Animals,” and Hardy hits “Truck Bed” and “Give Heaven Some Hell.

There’s a new Morgan Wallen song out right now, but it isn’t exactly a new song.
The 30-year-old country singer just dropped a re-recorded version of his song “Spin You Around,” which was included on his Stand Alone EP back in 2024.
Morgan has released the re-recorded version in response to his former colleagues’ decision to release a 10th anniversary edition of the EP, including eight unreleased songs.
“I want you to know this is Not my new music & I don’t want to see this happen to anyone else. I cringe when I listen to these songs & I’m concerned my fans may mistakenly believe this is a new release by me. I begin recording my next project at the end of February. I’m feeling inspired creatively & super excited to make more music I’m proud of,” Morgan said in a statement.

CMA Awards voters love Lainey Wilson. The singer ran far ahead of the pack as nominations for the 57th annual Country Music Association Awards were announced Thursday, picking up nine nods, nearly twice as many as the nearest finisher, Jelly Roll, who got five. Luke Combs and Hardy followed with four apiece.
Part of the hat trick Wilson pulled off was landing a nomination for the top prize, entertainer of the year. The CMA tends to make up-and-coming artists wait until they have been headlining arenas for a while before they are admitted into that august category, even if they lead the field of nominees otherwise. But Wilson picked up her entertainer of the year nod while she is only on her second major-label album and has still mostly been an opener on the biggest bills, indicating just how quickly Nashville has embraced her as a mascot for the future of country music.

The 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards have concluded, and the big winner from Thursday night’s ceremony is Chris Stapleton, who took home Entertainer of the Year.
It’s the first time Stapleton has won that prize, which brings the total of ACM awards he’s won over his celebrated career to 15. He’s now also qualified for the ACM Triple Crown Award, given to people who win New Female/Male Artist of the Year, Female/Male Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.
But Stapleton didn’t take home the most prizes. That distinction was shared by Lainey Wilson and Hardy, who essentially teamed up to win 4 each. By herself, Wilson won Female Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for “Bell Bottom Country.” She also shared Visual Media of the Year and Music Event of the Year with Hardy, both of which were awarded...

At the 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards, Morgan Wallen took home Album of the Year while Miranda Lambert won Entertainer of the Year.
Meanwhile, Lainey Wilson and Carly Pearce were the only nominees to win more than once, with Pearce taking home Female Artist of the Year and sharing a win for Music Event of the Year, and Wilson winning the ACM awards for New Female Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.
Wallen won the ACM award for “Dangerous: The Double Album,” released in early 2021 just before his career took a hit after he was videotaped using the n-word during a late night drinking session with friends. Florida Georgia Line performed their recent single “Long Live” on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, February 16th.
The country duo and their backing band breezed through the mid-tempo ode to all of life’s simple pleasures, with Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley coming together on the chorus to sing in harmony: “Long live all the small towners, sunup to sundowners/That old-school Haggard and Hank/Long live longneck bottles and wide-open throttles/And old dirt roads with no name.”

Morgan Wallen took retail giant Walmart to task after copies of his upcoming opus Dangerous: The Double Album appeared on shelves at a small number of stores around the country this weekend. A spokesperson for Walmart says the album was prematurely displayed and sold ahead of its official January 8th release date at “less than 10” of Walmart’s 4,000-plus locations nationwide. Nonetheless, Wallen considered the early stocking mistake a “leak.”
In a trolling Instagram post — location-tagged “Target” — he pledged his chain-store allegiance to a Walmart competitor and suggested his fans buy Dangerous there.

Morgan Wallen takes a nostalgic look back at a lost love in the dreamy new song “7 Summers.” It is the East Tennessee native’s latest release from his upcoming second album, which follows his breakthrough debut If I Know Me.
Written by Wallen with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, “7 Summers” has a faint tinge of Eighties country and soft rock coursing through its ringing, suspended chords and Joey Moi’s atmospheric production. It perfectly fits the mood of Wallen’s story, in which he reminisces about someone he once loved but whose memory lingers on.

Back when he was a fledgling songwriter with a new publishing deal, Michael Hardy was hanging out with his dad and a friend at the Nashville drinking establishment Tin Roof. He had only a few dollars to his name, so he bought a tall Pbr for six bucks and nursed it as slowly as possible. Across the room, he spotted a pretty young woman glancing at her phone and looking around for someone. Summoning his courage, Hardy approached and asked if she’d like to sit with them until her friend arrived.

Keith Urban teams up with Florida Georgia Line producer Joey Moi for his new song “Polaroid,” a breezy, evocative jam that, like “The Fighter,” stands as one of Urban’s more electronic-focused musical adventures.
Its accompanying music video is mesmerizing, utilizing a clever filmmaking approach to put the singer-guitarist in the middle of the action at a backyard pool party. Couples kiss, barbecues flame out of control, and some guy naturally falls into the water, all captured in a freeze-frame technique.

Morgan Wallen offers another preview of his upcoming second album with the new song “More Than My Hometown,” released overnight on Friday. The “Whiskey Glasses” singer’s follow-up to If I Know Me is due via Big Loud Records later in 2020.
With a mix of clean guitar sounds that suggest movement, “More Than My Hometown” depicts a crossroads for two young people. He’s a small-town guy at heart and they’ve known each other forever, but she’s got dreams that can only be realized in a bigger city.

Country singer Larry Fleet plays entertainer and party host in the new video for “Mix ‘Em With Whiskey,” performing a song and supplying the folks around him with brown liquor.
The song, originally on Fleet’s 2019 album Workin’ Hard, is built around a reverb-soaked, rising-and-falling electric guitar riff that nods to Sixties soul and cruises along at a relaxed pace. Fleet makes the argument that whiskey is the means by which to enhance or massage any situation: “A little burn ain’t such a bad, bad thing. A little edge off baby let it be,...
