Comic Relief launched in 1985 with a telethon that has since become embedded in British culture. Known as Red Nose Day, on account of the red noses sold as part of the appeal, over the years this has led to many classic comic moments, from The Young Ones singing Livin’ Doll with Cliff Richard, to Johnny Depp and Sting appearing in The Vicar Of Dibley, to Billy Connolly running naked through Trafalgar Square and Mr Bean infiltrating both Blind Date, and a Torvill and Dean dance routine.
Lenny Henry, who co-founded Comic Relief with Richard Curtis, recently revealed that he will be stepping down as host after this year’s telethon. Henry said of his decision that “when we first started Comic Relief back in 1985, I never dreamed...

Back with a bang, The Traitors returned for the BBC last night, watched by 3M viewers.
The opening ep, in which 22 contestants were introduced and three were chosen to be ‘traitors’, has been anticipated for months, following the runaway, watercooler success of the first.
Helmed ably once again by Claudia Winkleman, the show peaked with around 3.1M, according to Barb ratings data supplied by overnights.tv, as contestants including a clairvoyant, chess coach and a British Army engineer entered the fray in the now-beloved Scottish castle.
Episodes will air three a week at 9 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. GMT) with three dropped on iPlayer at a time, and a second season of Peacock’s U.S. version, hosted by Alan Cumming, will kick off shortly.
Produced by All3Media-backed Squid Game: The Challenge maker Studio Lambert, this series has stayed pretty true to the last given that one’s success,...

Don’t look now, but the centuries-old sport of darts is officially the hottest ticket in town — and on TV — thanks to a little-known 16-year-old who has taken the sport by storm.
Luke Littler doesn’t turn 17 until later this month, but he has thrown his way into the 2024 World Darts Championship Final in the U.K. (and into the hearts of darts fans around the world) with his winning play.
