Richard Parsons would have flipped his wig if he had ever learned how far Gibbs and the late Mike Franks had bent the rules.
While the story in "Anonymous Was a Woman" revolved around the "honor killing" death of an Afghan woman (masquerading as a Navy sergeant) the deeper story was one of regret. The profound and thoughtful universe behind Gibbs' quiet demeanor was ripped wide open for the viewers, but not at all for the rest of the NCIS team. And what a sight it was.
Who knew that Gibbs had lived with such a horrible memory? The flashback scenes with him and Franks rumbled with portent and angst, as the two men battled out the tension between lawful duty and the rescue of abused girls and women from certain death. While we always knew Franks was one of the truly good guys, we got an amazing look at...

A reporter waiting for a meeting at a construction site is found dead. McGee (Sean Murray) has to take another polygraph test. Tony (Michael Weatherly) asks him why and here comes the oft used phrase again, "Don't ask, don't tell." Need to have that included at least a few times a season. Tony being funny as per usual, comments, "You didn't make a mistake about coming out did you?" How many times has Tony mentioned that about McGee now. McGee replies, "I don't have anything to come out about." Tony calls him "McQueen" and that this could end McGee's career. Always a scaremonger, our Tony. Gibbs (Mark Harmon) on the other hand, never took a polygraph. Just a thought what happened to the polygraphs the team were meant to be subjected to in season 4 finale Angel of Death. We didn't hear anything more about that. The dead Vic was Matt Burns (Julian Acosta) a blogger,...

So, Film Friday continues with another episode from Soul Fire Rising called "I Give You My Soul," which is so thick with religious themes that one might wonder: is the source Christian influenced? After some investigation this webseries is not Christian sourced, but simply from the twisted writing mind of Kurt Patino (Cup O' Joe). Also, the soul is heavily referenced in the series, and here is that lesson you were hoping to avoid, the soul is an ancient reference to the heart as the seat of human consciousness from Greek philosophy. However, science has refuted this belief and shown that the mind is, of course, the seat of man's consciousness, behaviours and the instigator for emotions. Have a watch as character Lilith demands the soul of others which could be given a way freely as this concept is not based in reality!
