The Despicable Me movies always do very well at the box office (even if the reviews haven't remained quite as positive), so it came as no surprise that a fourth instalment in Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's animated franchise was on the way, and a new trailer and poster have now been released.
Though Gru will appear, the Minions have really become the main focus of these movies, and there's plenty of fun to be had with the little yellow fellas in this latest teaser, which sees several "volunteers" transformed into super-powered Mega-Minions.
One gains stretchy abilities like Mr. Fantastic, another is a clear not to The Thing, and there's also a Minion with Cyclops-like optic blasts.
Check out the new trailer and poster below, and let us know if you plan on catching this one on the big screen.

Anyone who has tried to secure tickets to a concert in recent years knows that the system is broken. Luckily, many top acts know it is broken, too, and want something done about it.
Over 250 artists, including Billie Eilish, Dave Matthews, Lorde, Sia, Train, Graham Nash, Green Day, Cyndi Lauper, Fall Out Boy, Chappell Roan, Becky G, Béla Fleck, Jason Mraz, Yes, Mgmt, Blue Öyster Cult and many others have lent their names to bills currently put before congress, the Fans First Act and The Ticket Act, which basically pokes holes in the current ticketing system that frequently drives up prices and creates an unfair secondary market. The bills by members of both parties, like Republican Texas senator John Cornyn and Democratic Minnesota senator Amy Klobuchar.

More than 250 recording artists have signed a letter to the Senate Committee on Commerce in support of a bill advocating for ticket sale transparency and consumer protections against bots.
Billie Eilish, Dave Matthews, Cyndi Lauper, Lorde, Sia, Train, Fall Out Boy, Green Day, Graham Nash, Becky G, and Chappell Roan are among the prominent signees urging Congress to pass the Fans First Act (S. 3457). The bill, introduced by Senators Cornyn, Klobuchar, Blackburn, Welch, Wicker, and Lujan, and the bipartisan Ticket Act (H.R. 3950), sponsored by Reps. Bilirakis, Schakowsky, and Armstrong, which passed out of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, address the live event ticketing system. The letter claims current practices leave fans and artists alike exposed to the predatory practices of bad actors within the secondary ticketing market.

For lovers of the diabolical world of The Boys, Gen V is a good addition to it.
From incredibly awful characters to blood, superpowers, and the phallus, the show is a good representation of the absolute chaos of the universe.
Gen V Season 1 Episode 1 introduced a new generation of supes -- a very aware generation.
The most significant distinction drawn between these supes and ones from The Boys was that the new generation was aware of their powers' origin, and that made all the difference.
However, before that news got out, most people were unaware of what was happening, and the cold open introduced one such person.
Supes had taken over the world, and seeing the first Black man to join The Seven was a glimmer of hope for Marie's parents.

One of the many oddities of "The Boys" is the way that any character, no matter how terrible, suddenly transforms into an audience surrogate the moment they're trapped in the room with Homelander. A-Train is a selfish, murdering jerk, for instance, but it's hard not to relate to him as Homelander starts making fun of his weight and there's nothing A-Train can do about it. Ashley is a power-hungry corporate stooge, but when she develops a hair-yanking habit from the sheer stress of working with Homelander, we have no trouble understanding why. When Homelander shatters the ear-drums of an innocent, Daredevil-inspired supe, Ashley's horrified expression perfectly matches how we feel.

It’s a hot summer day, the car AC is on turbo and the radio is blasting Miguel’s “Sure Thing.” My 8-year-old nephew is singing along happily — until I tell him the song is older than he is.
He’s extremely puzzled. But it’s true.
“Sure Thing” was released in 2010 and was named Billboard’s No. 1 R&b/hip-hop song of 2011. But TikTok resurrected the melodic track this year, and the platform thrust it to higher heights on the pop charts, as streaming platforms added it to current playlists and radio stations began replaying the song 13 years after its release.
Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” was released in 2019, but the addictive bop became a favorite on her ultra-popular Eras Tour, and now it’s in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Sia, thanks to TikTok, relaunched a platinum hit with “Unstoppable” late last year, though it was released...

Don’t let the title “The Boys” fool you — Amazon Prime Video’s comic-book series also has girls! In fact, there are six female actors submitted for the 2023 Emmys for Season 3, which streamed last summer and is now eligible at the upcoming ceremony. The Emmy ballots were officially unveiled on the Television Academy’s website on June 15, the same day nominations-round voting began (it will conclude on June 26 at 10:00 p.m.).
Submitted in the category of Best Drama Actress are Erin Moriarty as Annie January/Starlight and Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko. Season 3 was impactful for both of these fan-fave characters, as the lead actresses revealed in our recent video chats. Starlight wound up quitting the superhero team known as The Seven after some decisions people “deemed amoral,” Moriarty explained. And Kimiko dreamt up a “brilliant” musical number set to the Gershwin hit “I Got Rhythm,” Fukuhara recalled.

The Rolling Stones were one of the biggest bands in the world by the end of the 1960s. They had several No. 1 hits in that decade and added a few more in the 1970s. Musicians looking to find an audience with a solid tune could do a lot worse than play their songs. That was probably Johnny Winter’s mindset when he more or less stole The Rolling Stones’ song “Silver Train” in 1973.
(l-r) Rolling Stones members Charlie Watts, Mick Taylor, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Bill Wyman; Johnny Winter | Bettmann/Contributor; Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images Johnny Winter basically stole The Rolling Stones’ song ‘Silver Train’ and released it first
Keith Richards and Mick Jagger wrote “Silver Train” years before they recorded it. They brought it to the Sticky Fingers sessions, produced a demo with the band, and then put it back in the vault.
Winter somehow heard that demo.

Dracula is back on the big screen in Universal’s horror-comedy Renfield, and we won’t have to wait long to see Dracula’s next bloody adventure. Universal’s The Last Voyage of the Demeter is bringing Dracula back to theaters yet again on August 11, 2023, and today the film’s official MPA rating has been revealed. Like Renfield, this one is also rated “R”.
The Last Voyage of the Demeter is rated “R” for “bloody violence.”
Based on Bram Stoker’s classic horror novel, the horror movie will tell a unique Dracula story on the high seas, and the trailer (below) gave us our first look at this film’s incarnation of the iconic blood-sucker. Unlike many adaptations that depict Dracula as a human being, it seems The Last Voyage of the Demeter is leaning into Dracula being a full-on bat monster.

Eight years after the project was first announced, writer/director Robert Eggers‘ remake of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here) is finally in production, with filming taking place in Prague. With the start of production comes the launching of a website, which you can check out at This Link – and which is currently quite low on content. But the website does include some information we haven’t covered here before: Eggers’ The Witch star Ralph Ineson and Simon McBurney are both in the cast!
McBurney has over 60 screen acting credits to his name, stretching back to the 1980s. In recent years he had roles in Carnival Row, The Pale Blue Eye, The Conjuring 2, and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (pictured below).

Back in January, we heard that Lionsgate is “very interested in doing a John Wick TV show”, straight from the horse’s mouth. He told SlashFilm that making a TV prequel to the John Wick movies “seems very appealing”.

Wale‘s new song “Smile” is a celebration of positivity in the face of adversity, but when it comes to conservative political commentator and former talk show host Tomi Lahren, the D.C. rapper isn’t very happy
It all started on Monday when Lahren’s former boss Glenn Beck filed a counterclaim to the 24-year-old’s lawsuit against Beck and the network he founded in 2010, TheBlaze — in which she alleged that she was wrongfully terminated by the company and that they had launched “a public smear campaign” against her after she expressing her pro-choice opinions about abortion on The View.

Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper has become a huge Hollywood star in recent years. Unlike many top actors, who seem to burst onto the scene, Cooper slipped into our collective consciousness over time, moving from minor TV roles to cult movies until he was a bona fide blockbuster.
With the arrival of his latest hit American Sniper in Sky Store, we look back over the fascinating rise of Bradley Cooper:
The early years
As an unknown actor, Cooper made his television debut in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance in Sex and the City in 1999. His first significant role was opposite Jennifer Garner in Jj Abrams's Alias from 2001-06, not as Sydney Bristow's secret agent love interest but as her mild-mannered and slightly awkward reporter friend.
In 2008, he starred in sinister horror film The Midnight Meat Train, a story of a photographer who becomes obsessed with a New York City serial killer called the 'Subway Butcher'.

Saturday Night Live had a good Saturday night: The show won five awards — more than any other program — at the annual Creative Arts Emmys, held August 16 in L.A.
Although the Creative Arts Emmy focus on the non-performance aspects of TV programming, there were a few awards handed out for guest acting: Uzo Aduba won for her role as Crazy Eyes in Orange is the New Black while Allison Janney won for playing Margaret Scully in Masters of Sex.
The Primetime Emmy Awards air August 25. See the full list of Creative Arts Emmys winners below:

As another summer blockbuster season comes to an end, here's our annual reflection on what worked, what didn't, and who was left with egg on their face.
It's been a surprisingly strong summer season, in truth. Sure, there've been a few misses here and there, but we've found much to enjoy in many of the season's big releases, both in terms of widescreen spectacle and thought-provoking ideas.
So as the summer of 2014 winds to a close, here's what we took out of it...

Taking its usual place in the 'winners' section of articles like these is Marvel Studios, which opened and closed summer blockbuster movie season this year with considerable style.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier garnered strong reviews, and comfortably outperformed its predecessor at the box office.

When the cast and creatives behind The CW’s iZombie dropped by TVLine’s San Diego Comic-Con suite, Michael Ausiello fittingly picked their brains about what the midseason drama has in store.
Video Arrow’s John Barrowman Promises ‘The Best of Brutal Times’ for Thea
See, the DC Comics-inspired drama stars Rose McIver (Once Upon a Time) as Liv, a go-getter medical resident who finds herself among the “formerly alive” after stumbling upon a zombie feeding frenzy. To keep her undead desires at bay, Liv takes a job at the Seattle coroner’s office, where she can munch on...
