With cameras recording just about every professional sports match from every angle possible, sooner or later they are going to catch something that went incredibly wrong and broadcast it into our homes, easily recorded for the rest of time.
Professional athletes push their body to extremes and test the limits of the human condition. At times, this can lead to undue stress that their body simply cannot handle. Some sports involve high speeds, this includes racing sports, while others use high speed projectiles that can injure or kill both fans and athletes. Other times there are two people trained and conditioned to make their bodies into lethal weapons and then they fight each other. Then there are those times when there is a freak accident and things just go tragically wrong.

Shane Meadows has confirmed plans for a This Is England '90 improvisation session in January.
The The Stone Roses: Made of Stone director told Digital Spy that the project could overtake his planned biopic of cyclist Tom Simpson if the session goes well.
> This Is England '90 will hopefully be the last, says Shane Meadows
"Tommy Simpson's a bit further ahead because there's a script in hand, but then we're going to hopefully sit down with some of the key cast in January and do a bit of a Meadows impro session," Meadows said.
"That could pull it up on the outside and make it late winner to shoot for next year, so we'll see what happens."
Meadows added: "It's a nice pressure to have, because miracles happen in those rehearsal sessions with those amazing actors sat in a room together.
"Something might happen there, so we're keeping a really...

Madman have just released the key poster art for the upcoming Australian-Indian Bollywood-cricket hybrid film Save Your Legs! Bringing both cultures together with the love for cricket and spicing things up with some cheeky Bollywood numbers this film looks to be a lot of fun. It premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival, but will make its way to theaters in Australia early next year. The artwork was designed in house by art director Marcus Cobbledick and the Madman creative team, with a helping hand from illustrator Tom Simpson. Save Your Legs! is an inspirational journey from the heart of Australia to the soul of India. It's the story of one man who refuses to lose his park cricket team to the realities of growing up. Jason Solomons with all the latest gossip from the Cannes film festival
The 1920s get set to roar again
Cannes films set the bar for the months to come. Trash, as ever, has been trying to stay on trend and reckons the 1920s are back. Marion Cotillard looks amazing in her selection of cocktail shift dresses in Woody Allen's time-travel comedy Midnight in Paris, while Bérénice Bejo, enchants in cloche hats and flapper dresses in silent-era pastiche The Artist. Given that Baz Luhrmann is filming The Great Gatsby, I can feel a Jazz Age revival coming on. My other tip is bikes. As Olympic fever will take over next year, the Dardennes here had lovely Cécile de France in Le Gamin au Vélo, and I hear of plans for two British cycling films: James Erskine is recounting the life of Italian Tour de France winner Marco Pantani and Shane Meadows...

He’s made some of the edgiest films of the past decade or so which has featured themes of youth, vengeance and racism but British director Shane Meadows is now planning to make a film about controversial cyclist Tom Simpson in an upcoming biopic.
Meadows who tends to base his films in the past, wants to focus on Simpson’s athletic career from how he broke into the sport in the 1950s by being part of the British cycling team that won bronze in the 1956 Olympics, to being the first Brit to wear the yellow jersey in the Tour De France and ultimately finishing with his abrupt death from exhaustion in 1967 at the age of 29. It was later discovered that alcohol and drugs played a part in his death.
In an article from DigitalSpy, Meadows revealed his admiration for Simpson despite the controversy surrounding his death, and hoped to highlight...
