Set in the cut-throat world of technology and corporate power Paranoia is an espionage thriller based on the book by Robert Finder, which sees the world’s two most powerful tech billionaires and bitter adversaries stopping at nothing to outwit and destroy each other’s business empires. But when a young rising star (Hemsworth) falls between them, he becomes trapped in the middle of the rivals’ life-and-death game of corporate espionage. By the time he realises his life is in danger, he is in far too deep and knows too much for them to let him just walk away…
It says a lot when a film starring Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford and Richard Dreyfuss makes it debut on DVD...

For a movie called Paranoia, there’s precious little here in the way of irrational — or even rational — anxiety or delusional fear or worry about whom to trust with what. There’s precious little of big-name, big-charisma stars Gary Oldman (RoboCop) or Harrison Ford (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues), who mostly just wander into scenes every once in a while as if to remind you how much cooler and more intense a movie this could have been. There is, alas, a helluva lot of Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), even as it is becoming increasingly clear that his big brother, Chris,...

"Paranoia" is the perfect name for a thriller about how our smart phones are outsmarting us. A star vehicle for "the other Hemsworth" ("Hungers Games'" Liam, not brother Thor, um -- Chris), it features a couple of chewy scenes pitting Harrison Ford against Gary Oldman.
Sadly, it is as slow, slick and superficial as the director of "21" and "Killers" can make it.
Hemsworth is Adam Cassidy, a low-level apps innovator bribed and blackmailed into corporate espionage by one cell phone mogul -- Oldman -- into stealing from his old mentor, another mogul (Ford).
Amber Heard is the dishy marketing guru Adam must betray. Richard Dreyfuss is the sickly father always dozing through ballgames who is the reason Adam is desperate for cash. Dad wakes up long enough to ask, "You want to tell me what's going on?"
The story, based on a Joseph Finder novel, takes a very long time to get up to speed.

Imagine if Bill Gates and Steve Jobs waged a behind-the-scenes war full of corporate espionage, crazy technical gadgets, power-hungry motives, and death – that’s essentially Paranoia. In the dirty world of tech businesses, bosses are willing to do whatever it takes to stay on top, even if that means blackmailing a young man and breaking every law possible. It’s the quintessential “people who earn lots of money don’t deserve it,” ninety-nine percent promoting film, as “The Man” takes advantage of those far worse off than he. Well, sorry, in this case it would be two versions of “The Man,” one played by Harrison Ford and the other played by Gary Oldman, but you get the picture. If you’ve seen one business-themed thriller, you’ve pretty much seen them all – and Paranoia is no exception.

Chicago – Much like 2011’s silly “Abduction” with Taylor Lautner, the title of “Paranoia” isn’t exactly accurate. Just as that previous film wasn’t really about an abduction, paranoia is only a minor aspect of Robert Luketic’s new thriller.
It’s more about corporate intrigue, theft, intellectual property, and fear. It’s not really paranoia if your life is literally threatened multiple times. It’s just another inaccurate, buzz-word title. They should have called “Nonsense.” Or “Laziness.” Or “Paycheck.” Whatever they called it, this is an inexcusably awful film, a movie made by people who should know better for an audience that they think will be just barely satisfied enough not to revolt. There’s no sense of craftsmanship or creativity here, just the bare minimum to meet enough clichés to get to the final act and send you on your way. It has all the thrills of a root canal.

The adaptation of John Wagner's comic series Button Man: The Killing Game has surely taken its sweet time to get made. We've heard talks about a movie dating back as far as 2009, but the project got its first stroke of luck last summer when it was announced that Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn was attached to helm. We haven't heard much about the project since, as the Danish filmmaker has been busy working on the upcoming Only God Forgives with Ryan Gosling and Kristin Scott Thomas, but today we learn that the engine is now revving and the wheels are finally starting to roll. Deadline has learned that screenwriter Matt Cook has been hired to take a new crack at the script for Button Man, which was originally drafted by Hilary Seitz and Barry Levy. Robert Luketic's thriller Paranoia adapted from Joseph Finder's novel has added Lost star Josh Holloway, reports Variety. He joins Liam Hemsworth, Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, Amber Heard, Lucas Till, Embeth Davidtz, Julian McMahon and Richard Dreyfuss in the film based on a previous draft by Barry Levy. The story stars Hemsworth as a blue-collar man being blackmailed by his boss and spying for a rival company. Holloway will apparently play an FBI agent investigating the corporate goings-on and watching the hero closely. Alexandra Milchan produces for Emjag Productions, alongside Scott Lambert of Film 360 and Deepak Nayar. Holloway turned some heads with his performance in Tom Cruise starrer Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, and certainly has the goods to turn into a bigscreen star after the success of Lost.

In the flick, adapted by Jason Dean Hall and Barry Levy from the Joseph Finder novel of the same name, Hemsworth stars as Adam Cassidy, a corporate peon who finds himself transformed into the pawn in a company spy game. Nicolas Winding Refn, the arty genre director of "Drive," "Bronson" and "Valhalla Rising," is apparently planning a few chess moves ahead. And again, he's dabbling with Hollywood and major studios. The Danish filmmaker, already adapting a remake of "Logan's Run" for Warner Bros. is in talks to direct an adaptation of the graphic novel, "Button Man: The Killing Game" for DreamWorks.
Written by Arthur Ranson and John Wagner (who created the Judge Dredd graphic novel character), "Button Man: The Killing Game" centers on a former mercenary named Harry Exton, who is recruited into a game in which retired soldiers are sponsored by wealthy investors -- called "Voices," because they’re only heard on the telephone -- to face off against each other in fights to the death.
“Moneyball” producer Michael De Luca is one of the men shepherding this project. In development since at least 2008, scribes like Hillary Seitz (“Insomnia,...

So, for those people, here's a look at Ender's room from the official production blog where they write: The more futuristic the world, the more invisible its technology. So why shouldn't Ender's room look just like any normal kid's room? And not every future is a dark dystopia. Ender will be played by Hugo lead actor Asa Butterfield and the film is set to hit theaters on November 1, 2013. [source]

Director Robert Luketic hasn't really proven himself to be one of the most talented filmmakers in Hollywood. Kicking off his career in 2001 with Legally Blonde, Luketic has spent the last 11 years making duds like Monster-in-Law, Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!, The Ugly Truth and Killers. Still, his career flourishes and somehow he's managed to enlist an all star cast for one of his upcoming projects. Liam Hemsworth is now set to star in Paranoia, a new film from Robert Luketic, and both Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford are in talks to play roles as well. Deadline describes the movie as a "corporate espionage thriller" about fighting telecom companies. The original script was written by Barry Levy, who is best known for writing Vantage Point, though Jason Hall (Spread) has been brought on-board for a rewrite. The article says that Hemsworth will have the lead role, and unfortunately doesn't have...
