The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive was just released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One back on August 18th, and the developers have been keeping a steady flow of updates coming ever since. A while back, we heard a new killer character, a new victim character (with the voice and likeness of genre icon Barbara Crampton!), and a new map called The Mill (which brings to mind a location from the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake) would be added to the game soon – and now we know exactly when The Mill will be available for players to enjoy: March 28th!
The date announcement was made on X, where it was revealed that The Mill will allow players to “scramble up multiple floors, traverse through a Ghost Town, or sneak around a dry river bed.”

The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham was just released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One back on August 18th, and it has been frequently updated since then. A couple weeks ago, it was revealed that a new character portrayed by genre icon Barbara Crampton is being added to the game in an upcoming update – and now details on the character have been unearthed on the game’s official website! The character with Crampton’s voice and likeness is a Victim character named Virginia.
Here are the details: Virginia is a grief-stricken mother who cannot get over the disappearance of her son Jesse. She’s obsessive over his vanishing and refuses to believe that he could be gone. The weight of her pain is so immense she leaves behind her nursing career to move to Newt, TX, the last location Jesse was seen.

A while back, it was announced that a new killer character, a new victim character, and a new map called The Mill… and now genre icon Barbara Crampton has revealed that she’s playing one of the new characters! I’ve only played a few video games over the last twenty years, primarily Halo online multiplayer and the recent Friday the 13th game that was hindered by lawsuits… and gaming sure is different these days than it was in my time, when a game was released in its complete form and then you just played the hell out of it. Now, if a game doesn’t get very frequent updates, players will abandon it very quickly. For example, the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham was just released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One back on August 18th, and even though it was updated a new map and a couple new characters at the end of November, I’ve already seen gamers complaining that it’s getting stale and will be pronounced dead if there isn’t another update soon.

The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham was released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One back on August 18th, and at the end of last month they added not just a new map (free to all players), but also a couple of new characters that players have to pay to access: a victim named Danny and a killer named Nancy. The motion-capture and vocal performances for Nancy were provided by BAFTA winner Cissy Jones, whose previous credits include the most recent Evil Dead video game. A newly released promo video shows exactly how Jones brought Nancy to life, and you can check it out at the bottom of this article.

The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham was released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One back on August 18th, and today they’re not only adding a new map (free to all players) and a couple of new characters (players will have to pay to access them), but also rolling out a patch that will fix multiple issues and make some changes. The full list of fixes and changes can be found on the official website – but the change that is getting the most attention from fans is one making it so that matches no longer require the presence of Leatherface.
Here’s the description of the change:

The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham was just released for play on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on August 18th – and one month later, the developers have announced (via Bloody Disgusting and GameSpot) that new content will be available next month! For $16, players will be able to purchase the “Nicotero Leatherface” pack, which includes a new chainsaw with custom sounds, a new kill animation for all versions of Leatherface in the game, and a new skin for Leatherface that was designed by special effects legend Greg Nicotero.
This is far from the first time Nicotero has associated with Leatherface, as he also worked on the films Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and Texas Chainsaw 3D.

We knew from early on that Kane Hodder (who did stunt work on Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III) was doing the motion-capture performance for the Leatherface character in the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham – a game that is now available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Later we learned the names of the other mo-cap performers: Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs) as The Hitch-hiker; Troy Burgess (Swedish Dicks) as The Cook; Kristina Klebe (Don’t Kill It) as new killer character Sissy; Dove Meir (Dig) as new killer character Johnny; Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), did the mo-cap for all of the female victim characters; and Hunter C. Smith (Lucky) did the mo-cap for all of the male victim characters. But the Grandpa character is in the game as well. Who did his mo-cap performance?...

The events of director Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (watch it Here) took place on August 18, 1973. With launch day comes the unveiling of a new trailer for the game, and you can check that out in the embed above.

This weekend marks the release of writer/director Ted Geoghegan's third feature Brooklyn 45, now streaming on Shudder after a successful festival run earlier this year. Set in a single room over the course of one bitter cold night between Christmas and New Years Eve in 1945, a small group of war buddies get together to support an old friend…and commune with the dead in an impromptu seance. Naturally, the night does not go as planned. Secrets are revealed, morals are tested, and the group is visited by a ghost or two.
We sat down ahead of the release of Brooklyn 45 to talk with Ted Geoghegan about the process of fleshing out his military-focused story with his father (a retired U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant), why he enjoys working in specific periods of time, and what lessons modern American can learn from Post-wwii America.

Plot: Trapped in their host’s lounge, the Greatest Generation now finds themselves put to one final test, with their only route to freedom being more bloodshed.
Review: The 1940s isn’t an era we see utilized often in horror so it immediately brings up some intrigue when a genre film takes place here. Due to World War 2, the 40s are often relegated to some war stories, and here is no different. Brooklyn 45 follows five military veterans meeting together after the war is over. But they soon find their friendship tested as their past comes back to haunt them. It’s an interesting concept, that caters to those that like a slow burn. But those expecting answers may end up a tad disappointed.

In Brooklyn 45, World War II has recently ended, and the wounds that it’s left are raw for some of the veterans at the film’s center. Among them is Major Archibald “Archie” Stanton (Jeremy Holm), who’s on trial for war crimes, and Lieutenant Colonel Clive “Hock” Hockstatter (Larry Fessenden), who drinks away the sorrow of his wife’s suicide, committed weeks prior after raving that their neighbors were Nazi spies. It’s the holidays and concern for Hock has brought the comrades in arms together, who are corralled into the drawing room that they will occupy for almost the entirety of the film—and not always of their own free will.
Among the other guests are buttoned-up Major Paul Difranco (Ezra Buzzington) and ace interrogator Marla Sheridan (Anne Ramsay), who brings her husband, Bob (Ron E. Rains), into their friend group. It’s through Bob, who spent the war comfortably behind a desk,...

With a tip of the hat to Agatha Christie and a nod toward “Twelve Angry Men,” writer-director Ted Geoghegan (“Mohawk”) skillfully sustains suspense and showcases a strong cast in “Brooklyn 45,” a supernatural-themed chamber drama about a small group of World War II vets entangled in a séance where visits from the restless departed are hardly the worst threat to participants. Set for a June 9 premiere on the Shudder streaming service after a sprint on the festival circuit, the film impresses as a well-crafted period piece with some pointed observations about paranoia and xenophobia that feel, discomfortingly, as relevant as recent news reports about over-reactions by stand-your-ground shooters.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game that’s coming our way from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham finally has an official release date! The game – which takes place before the events of director Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (watch it Here) – is set to be released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on August 18th. The perfect date, since The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was set on August 18, 1973.
The release date news was broken by IGN, who also revealed that a “technical test” will be held on May 25th. Gamers are encouraged to wishlist the game on Steam or follow the game’s social media channels for eligibility details.

Ted Geoghegan's "Brooklyn 45" could be a '40s teleplay read over outdated radio sets — you can practically hear the static crackle behind line readings. The World War II era chamber piece confronts our obsession with fighting ghosts and humankind's refusal to move onward, all contained to a New York City brownstone. There's a heavy emphasis on conversations between old war buddies that draw away from the horror influences of a botched paranormal ritual, as Geoghegan lays the atmosphere on thick while the camera pans around a veteran's cluttered memorabilia den. It's a chilling story of the specters that haunt our memories, not the most fierce supernatural lock-in. Still, for those who latch onto dialogue-heavy stage play performances, "Brooklyn 45" speaks to the unshakable terrors of existence.
It's December 27, 1945, and Lt. Col. Clive Hockstatter (Larry Fessenden) has opened his home to four friends with ties to his World War II deployment.

Despite the spooky séance setup in Brooklyn 45, writer/director Ted Geoghegan is less interested in exploring a literal interpretation of ghosts. Instead, the filmmaker connects the ghosts of our past as a metaphor for present-day national turmoil and paranoia. The period-set chamber piece gives precedence to fraught tension among friends over conventional scares.
It’s December 27, 1945, mere months after the official end of World War II. The nation is still reeling, but for Lt. Col. Clive “Hock” Hockstatter (Larry Fessenden), it’s even worse; he lost his wife Susie on Thanksgiving. In an attempt to reconnect with her, Hock invites military friends Marla Sheridan (Anne Ramsay), her husband Bob (Ron E. Rains), Major Archibald Stanton (Jeremy Holm), and Major Paul Difranco (Ezra Buzzington) over to his Park Slope Brownstone in Brooklyn under the guise of drinks among old friends. They barely have time to catch up when Hock locks...

It’s supposed to be a nostalgic, supportive night. On December 27, 1945, five military veterans and friends from childhood gather inside a Brooklyn brownstone to reminisce about old times, celebrate the end of World War II, and comfort a grieving host whose wife has recently passed. But what starts with sentimental banter and a strong whiskey buzz quickly spirals into an unexpected séance that conjures the paranormal, sparks some paranoia, and builds to a possession that seems hell-bent on staining the wood-paneled parlor with as much blood as possible.
That’s the fun, gory, alarming premise behind Brooklyn 45, Ted Geoghegan’s third feature film that asks a lot of heavy questions in-between its abrupt moments of splatter. When does the war really end? Who decides when it’s over? How do you determine ethics in the midst of battle? Within the useful limitations of a one-night, one-location get-together, Geoghegan mostly makes good on his script,...

Last month, the developers of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game, coming our way from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham, shared a behind-the-scenes video that gave a look at the mocap sessions where genre icon Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood) provided the performance of Leatherface – and his fellow cast members provided the performances of the other killers and the group of victims. Now another behind-the-scenes video has arrived online, and this one shows what went into the recording of the chainsaw sounds for the game. You can watch that video at the bottom of this article.

Holy hell this year’s SXSW Film Festival isn’t messing around.
The official lineup has just been revealed and it’s a banger, starting off with a special screening of Evil Dead Rise!
In addition, they have several prominent horror titles that will premiere as part of the Midnighters program, including the Sundance hit Talk to Me and the surprise sequel to Becky, The Wrath of Becky!
“Midnighters don’t need to be exclusively horror films, they just need to perk you up and get your blood pumping,” said Peter Hall, Film & TV Festival Programmer. “That’s why this year’s SXSW Midnighters class is a mix of horror, bone-crunching action, and mind-melting genre hybrids. Some of them introduce new, terrifying lore to the canon of suburban horror movies, some will worm around in your brain like thoughts you can’t shake, but all of them will make you...

If you were hoping to see Kane Hodder doing his thing once again as Leatherface in Gun Interactive’s upcoming Texas Chain Saw Massacre, the devs have just the thing. Gun Interactive has released a brand new behind-the-scenes video showing off Texas Chain Saw Massacre‘s mocap sessions, which just so happens to start off with Hodder (jokingly) saying that he will kill someone on film.
The video doesn’t focus entirely on Hodder, mind you. We have appearances by Kristina Klebe (who plays Family member Sissy in the Texas Chain Saw Massacre), Dove Meir (who is doing the mocap for Family member Johnny), Hunter Smith, Sean Whalen, Troy Burgess and Scout Taylor-Compton chatting it up about the motion capture process. “That’s the beauty of motion capture,” explains Smith. “You can set up an environment anywhere, you layer out the space, and then it’s your play world.”

Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham are working together to develop a Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game that looks incredible so far. Set before the events of the original Chainsaw film (watch it Here), this game will include recreations of locations from that movie: the farmhouse, the slaughterhouse, and the gas station. And today the game’s developers have shared an image from the game that shows us what’s behind the gas station. To see the environment players will make their way through while playing the gas station map, take a look at the picture in this Twitter embed:

Happy October, witches!!!!! Time for stories of ghosts, ghouls, creepy crawlies, and scary women who have made pacts with the devil. To celebrate, Arrow Films is releasing the first feature from writer-director Pierre Tsigaridis - Two Witches.
The film is a pair of loosely connected stories - sort of a mini-anthology. The connecting tissue is the passing of dark powers from one aging woman to her young granddaughter. The older woman governs the events of the first story, while the younger witch takes the mantle and starts wreaking havoc in the second.
The film opens with a young couple trying to enjoy a night out. Sarah (Belle Adams) has recently discovered that she is pregnant. Her partner Simon (Ian Michaels), though enthused, is not the most sensitive person in the world, and honestly, is kind of more than any pregnant woman should have to deal with. Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham are still working on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game, getting it ready to be played by fans all around the world… but in the meantime, Gun Interactive’s Wes Keltner has also teamed with composer Jim Bonney for a creative side project. A music album called Remains, which serves as a companion to the video game.
Keltner explained on the game’s official website, “This album is a direct reflection of what Kim Henkel wrote, influenced by the events that led up to that moment and why the Slaughter family did the things they did and it’s about that town that they grew up in and around. For generations, what that town did was process meat, from cattle to pigs, entire slaughterhouses really, and just like Henkel’s commentary on modernity overall, from automation to gas price and supply issues, he applied that to this small town.

There may be two witches in this film, but there are more than two conceptions of what it means to be a witch. Melissa (Dina Silver) is a follower of present day witchy ideas in the Wiccan mould, using scented candles and Ouija boards to try to bring comfort to people who are struggling in life. Rachel (Kristina Klebe) makes the case for witches as a creation of patriarchal society, of the monstering of older women who dare to assert their desires. Relatively little attention is made to religious traditions recast as witchery as Christianity came to dominate Europe, but a key moment involving a crucifix speaks to director Pierre Tsigaridis’ awareness of that conflict. He isn’t interested in the rights and wrongs of the matter, but in the emotion at its core: the intense fear of otherness which witches invoked then and still, sometimes invoke today. The concept of.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game being developed by Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham isn’t going to be released until sometime in 2023, but Ryan McCaffrey at IGN is a very lucky person and already had the chance to play six rounds of the game! You can see video of McCaffrey’s gameplay, accompanied by talk of his very positive experience playing the game, in the embed at the bottom of this article.
