Firefighters and their personal lives will remain a big topic for ABC during the 2023-24 TV season.
The network has officially picked up Station 19 for Season 7 with new showrunners.
In live + same-day results, Station 19 is ABC's most-watched series, with 3.9 million viewers.
The numbers surge when delayed viewing is factored in.
A renewal was never in doubt for the Grey's Anatomy spinoff, but ABC has been staggering out pickups for next season so far.
The series has been a strong performer, and ABC will likely keep the show on Thursdays next season with Grey's Anatomy.
There continues to be some connective tissue between the two shows, which has probably helped both series.
Station 19 follows a group of heroic Seattle firefighters as they put their lives and hearts on the line.
The series takes us inside the tough, tight-knit, and sometimes heartbreaking world of the city's bravest first responders.

Spoiler Alert: The report includes details about the Season 3 finale of Station 19.
After all the drama encountered this season, the firefighters of Station 19 are letting loose. ABC’s Season 3 finale, titled “Louder Than a Bomb,” kicks off with the crew dancing and drinking the night away. More on these later.
The next day, the hungover crew is summoned to handle a five-alarm fire at Pac North hospital. At the scene, Maya’s (Danielle Savre) dad shows up to cheer her on at work, which turns out to be a disaster.

Warning: The following contains spoilers for Thursday’s Station 19. If you’d rather watch first, read later, drop your laptop like it was on fire. Well, maybe not literally!
Not a single Grey’s Anatomy character was featured in Thursday’s Station 19 — and that was actually Ok. “Indoor Fireworks” burned brightly on its own merits, introducing a new fire chief who’s as obnoxious as Koracick at his worst, using Ben’s history to alter the course of his future, setting up Jack for what promises to be one ugly showdown, and returning Ryan to Seattle just in time for tragedy to strike.

Kate Middleton wore a bright green Mulberry dress to attend a reception at London's Natural History Museum this evening. Kate also wore the peace-sign-adorned Mulberry dress to a private reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth II nearly a year ago to the day. This evening, Kate attended the opening of the Treasures Cadogan Gallery. Kate was originally intended to go as the guest of Sir David Attenborough, a well-known broadcaster in the UK, but he was not able to attend. Instead, the Duchess of Cambridge got a tour of the new space from Michael Dixon, who is the director of the museum. Kate was treated to the viewing of many exciting objects, including a first edition of Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species and dinosaur fossils. View Slideshow ›...

Universal Pictures will distribute the British comedy Gridiron UK starring Mem Ferda. Ferda (Pusher) plays the character Sidekick and he says of his role "this is my first ever comedy feature film in sixteen years. It is exciting to be a part of it. It is a very funny script and a unique idea so I wanted to be involved as a co-producer as well as doing a cameo role within the film." Ferda is mostly known for playing enforcers in action roles in such films as The Devil's Double and The Veteran. This role will be a tongue-in-cheek stretch for this UK based actor. The true story of Gridiron UK involves the creation of an American football team in Crewe, England! Set in 1985, this title is about one man's dream to bring American football to England. Unfortunately, Derek (Michael Dixon) has no idea how to do this. Derek has...

When Michael Paller served as dramaturge for American Conservatory Theater's production of Tom Stoppard's "Rock 'n' Roll"—set in 20th-century Czechoslovakia and Cambridge, England—he prepared a packet for the cast that included information about communism, fascism, and the Velvet Revolution; a timeline of musical and world events from 1965 to 1969; an explanation of how Cambridge University differs from American universities; definitions of unfamiliar words in the script; and even a few evocative Brecht poems."The point," says Paller, resident dramaturge with the San Francisco company, "is to help actors make appropriate choices." Later this year, when he works on Harold Pinter's "The Homecoming," he'll probably include photos of homes in London's East End in the mid-20th century. Many actors respond more intuitively to pictures than text, he says.To actors, the function of a dramaturge can be somewhat mysterious. Paller, originally a playwright, was himself initially suspicious of their usefulness,...

I know you want more concept trailers for movies that are still years away. Yeah, you know you want to see it as much as I do.
The latest in the batch from our researcher Avery is The Container. The first full length feature from South African director Chris Greybe, it’s the story of a police detective with an unusual neurological disease who is trying to make out what parts of his life are reality and what parts aren’t. There’s a suggestion here that perhaps the detective’s condition has opened him up to some other events which are on the brink of unfolding – I’m excited to see where they’re going with this concept of time shifting and the apocalyptic overtones throughout the trailer.
Greybe and crew are currently working on funding the film which they hope to have completed for 2012. With this trailer and...

British newcomer Owen Williams writes and directs Sertoli, Sertoli, Sertoli, a scifi short that puts a particularly comedic spin on the whole Orwellian dystopia thing.
Similar in tone to Brazil, but more in keeping with the micro-budget aesthetic of its Australian sister film, Eraser Children, the short is right up our alley.
Synopsis:
When an underground resistance movement seeks to uncover the truth behind the Second Branch and the Great Conduit, they send in their top man, Guy Lance, to infiltrate the corporate behemoth Sertoli, Sertoli, Sertoli.
In this strange tale, set in an Orwellian state, Guy Lance is the Y.S.R.M's only hope for truth. What is really at the end of the Great Conduit? Is the Second Branch a lie? Has everyone remembered their tie?
The film stars Michael Dixon who you may have missed in Alexander if you blinked, but who just walked off the...
