Deadlock has not yet been officially announced, but Valve’s new game is already stirring up social media due to recent leaks. Last week, Tyler McVicker, a journalist covering the developer, reported on its development and mentioned that the game was in a closed testing phase.
Now, new information has surfaced online, including a short leaked gameplay that provides more details about the game in production. Although it is not the long-awaited Half-Life 3, this gameplay demonstrates that Gabe Newell still knows how to create engaging games, and his new title will be a mix of several popular concepts on the market, like Overwatch and MOBAs.

Valve is one of the most reputed video game companies in the industry. Having been in the industry for over 25 years, the company is known not only for cult video game series like Half-Life but also for revolutionizing the digital PC software marketplace with Steam.
Fans have asked the video company for Half-Life 3 for a long time. But to no avail. Now, it seems the company is all set to expand its horizons by releasing a 6v6 hero-shooter similar to Overwatch.

It’s Not PlayStation, Arrowhead, or the Players, but the Helldivers 2 Controversy Does Have 1 Winner
Helldivers 2 is the center of attraction once again but for all the wrong reasons. Sony insisted that players on PC should link their PlayStation Network accounts to Steam for moderation, and many gamers were displeased.
In light of the recent controversy, the community will now look at the platform from a different perspective. If players were to dissect what Steam can provide that other platforms cannot, they would arrive at a clear answer for the future of gaming.
Steam Is Benefitting From the Helldivers 2 Controversy
Steam is the safest space for gaming amidst the Helldivers 2 controversy.
There is no question regarding this platform’s hold on the gaming community. It has a wide selection of titles to choose from and is much more accessible compared to the competition.
Unlike Sony’s network, this service has more coverage and includes the 177 countries where Arrowhead Game Studios’ latest live service title was almost pulled.

Developers on Steam might want to reconsider where they’re taking their games, as Epic Games has introduced two groundbreaking initiatives aimed at devs and publishers that could make a difference in their profits.
With the launch of Epic First Run and the Now On Epic program, the company is offering exciting incentives to lure developers away from competing platforms. If there’s a huge uptick in games released exclusively on Epic, this is probably why.
Egs vs. Steam: Is This a New Era for PC Gaming?
Steam might need to step it up after Epic’s latest move.
In a recent announcement, Epic unveiled two major initiatives that could dethrone Steam as the leading PC gaming platform.
The first, known as Epic First Run, is an exclusivity program aimed at third-party developers and publishers on Egs. Essentially, it offers developers the option to release their games exclusively on the Epic platform.

A recently leaked old email from Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney is suddenly the talk of the town, at least on X. Epic Games has long been on the losing side of a lopsided race as they promoted The Epic Games Store to rival Valve’s Steam. The leaked email showed Tim Sweeney losing his composure while talking about the policies of Apple and Steam.
The email was originally sent on 3rd December 2018 to Gabe Newell, President of the Valve corporation. The document was leaked to netizens on 12th March 2024 and ever since fans have been having quite a laugh at the expense of the Epic Games CEO. The creator of Unreal Engine had some choice words in store for the people of Valve in the email that he sent.
Epic Games CEO Swears at Valve in Official Mail

Valve is giving away Half-Life for free until 6pm today, and has given the 25-year-old game a massive overhaul.
Valve is celebrating Half-Life's 25th anniversary with a range of goodies, including giving the game away for free on Steam until 6pm today (20th November). There are also steep discounts on other games in the series, including Half-Life 2: Episode Two for 57p.
As you’re no doubt aware, Half-Life was something of a big deal when it was released on 19th November 1998, celebrated in particular for its storytelling and immersive world. Rather than using cut scenes, the plot was provided by scripted sequences within the game, a technique that later became widespread in the games industry.

Now, Valve has revisited the original game and given it some generous TLC. The Half-Life update restores some cut content – including the original main menu and logo intro – and adds four new multiplayer maps.

Recently, there has been speculation about a brand new Switch/Switch-lite handheld console that is in development by Counter-Strike: Global Offensive developer, Valve. According to dataminers, they have found references to an object called a SteamPal device, SteamPal Games, and a codename “Neptune” hidden within the latest update for Steam. This, coupled with a very vague answer from Gabe Newell when asked about whether Steam will be porting any new games to consoles in the future – his response being: “You will get a better idea of that by the end of this year, and I don’t think the answer is

Since the release of the first consumer version of the Oculus Rift all the way back in March, 2016, the world of virtual reality gaming has evolved into almost an entirely new genre and community. Oculus has since released the Oculus Rift S, Oculus Quest, Oculus Go, and the Oculus Quest 2 in October, 2020. Many other companies have also been jumping in on the virtual reality bandwagon such as Htc, Microsoft, and even Valve. Gabe Newell, owner of the popular gaming developer and publisher, Valve Corporation, has recently expressed his thoughts on brain-computer interfacing technology and how this can

In an interview with The Project, Valve co-founder Gabe Newell stated that he would choose the Xbox Series X over the PlayStation 5.
“I don’t have a stake in that race,” Newell says of the upcoming next-gen console war. “Obviously, we do most of our development on personal computers, but of the two, I would definitely go with an Xbox.”
When asked by the show’s host why Newell would choose the Xbox Series X over the PlayStation 5, Newell simply stated “Because it’s better!” Sadly, he didn’t offer much more of an explanation beyond that declaration.
That being said, we can probably guess some of the reasons why Newell prefers the Xbox Series X. The first almost certainly has something to do with Microsoft’s closer relationship with PC gaming. While Sony has indicated that they’re finally ready to start looking into porting more games to PC,...

This article is part of our History of PC Gaming series. Read all of the articles here.
When famed PC game studio Valve set out to work on the first Half-Life in 1996, the team that would change the first-person shooter genre forever was mostly made up of amateur modders who’d cut their teeth on the Quake engine. The studio itself was self-funded by former Microsoft Windows designers Gabe Newell and Mike Harrington, a gamble that as you know paid off tremendously.
Many stories have already been written about Valve’s ascension from indie PC developer to the Aaa juggernaut that created Steam. Noclip’s documentary about how the Half-Life games influenced so many other developers, early esports pros, modders, and fans is a particularly thrilling chronicle of Valve’s story.

EA and Valve announce a major new partnership that will see new and old EA games come to Steam.
EA and Valve have confirmed some recent rumors by revealing that EA games will be returning to Steam.
The details of this deal are a little more complicated than that, though. The obvious benefit of this arrangement is that Steam is about to get an influx of EA titles that were previously not available on the platform (or were made unavailable for quite some time). The press release mentions The Sims 4 and Unravel 2 as two of the games that will debut on Steam "in the coming months" and also notes that Apex Legends, FIFA 20, and Battlefield V are coming to Steam "next year." While the full list of games that will make the jump hasn't been revealed, EA and Valve have confirmed that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order...

World War Z studio Saber Interactive once pitched a Half-Life 2 remake to Valve.
In a surprising revelation, Saber Interactive, developers of World War Z, revealed that they asked Valve for permission to develop a Half-Life 2 remake.

One of Valve's most notable writers has apparently returned to the company.
Erik Wolpaw, has seemingly returned to Valve after apparently having left the company in 2017 to work on Psychonauts 2.
The discussion surrounding Wolpaw's return began when Reddit user Trenchman noticed that Wolpaw's name appears in the credits for Artifact (Valve's recently released Ccg title based on Dota 2). Given that there had been no formal announcement of Wolpaw's return to the company at that point, or even vague hints, his inclusion in the game's credits struck many as being odd.
At the time, there was some discussion regarding whether or not Wolpaw had perhaps worked on Artifact in some capacity during his time with Valve. However, Reddit user Trenchman actually reached out to Gabe Newell's Valve email address and was informed that Wolpaw had indeed returned to Valve. Trenchman has posted screens of the email...

Like a gamer Groundhog’s Day, once a year during the “Dota2” International tournament Gabe Newell emerges from the shadows of Valve Software to see if he can say the number three or drop news about a new game the legendary software company is working on.
Earlier this week, the founder of Valve announced that the company’s digital collectible card game “Artifact” would soon be going into beta. But Wednesday he showed he still struggles with the number three, only being able to utter “more than two, but less than four” when asked.

Microsoft teamed up with Thq Nordic to distribute five games on Steam and bring them to PC on disc, the company announced during its Gamescom press conference Tuesday.
The games coming to Steam and PC disc are “ReCore: Definitive Edition,” “Super Lucky’s Tale,” “Disneyland Adventures,” “Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure,” and “Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection.” All five hit on Sept. 14. All five are also Microsoft Studios published games made exclusively for the company’s platforms.
The announcement is part of a publishing deal that has Thq Nordic distributing some of Microsoft’s titles to Steam and physical retailers. It’s unclear if this will expand to include further titles.
The news is interesting because of the long-brewing, though mostly quiet, distribution war between Microsoft’s Windows 10 Store and Valve’s Steam. Over the years, both Valve’s Gabe Newell and Epic Games’ Tim Sweeney have called out Microsoft...

Former Valve writer Jay Pinkerton has returned to the company in an undisclosed role a year after he left, according to PC Gamer.
Reddit user OWLverlord spotted Pinkerton’s name listed on Valve’s staff page in the “Other Experts” category on Sunday. Pinkerton is perhaps best known for co-writing “Portal 2” with former Valve scribe Erik Wolpaw. He also reportedly worked on the “Team Fortress 2” comics and the “Left 4 Dead” series.
Pinkerton was one of several high-profile departures from Valve in recent years. Wolpaw left the developer in February 2017 and is now reportedly working on “Psychonauts 2” with Double Fine Productions. Another writer, Chet Faliszek, left in May 2017. His credits include two “Half-Life” episodes, the “Portal” series, and the “Left 4 Dead” series. He’s now working on a new project with Bossa Studios. “Half-Life” writer Marc Laidlaw left Valve in 2016 after 18 years because he wanted to go back to writing original stories.

Online battle royale shooter “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” has reached over 400 million total players worldwide across all platforms to date, developer Pubg Corp. announced Tuesday.
More than 227 million people log in monthly to play the game, the developer added. Over 50 million copies have been sold across PC and Xbox One, drawing over 87 million players each day. That means a large majority of people are playing the free-to-play mobile version on Android and iOS.

The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (Ncose) is warning parents and socially conscious gamers away from Steam following the digital storefront’s decision to publish all video games regardless of content as long as they’re not illegal or “straight up trolling.”
“The National Center on Sexual Exploitation denounces this decision in light of the rise of sexual violence and exploitation games being hosted on Steam,” it said in a statement on its website Thursday.
Last month, Valve told certain developers their games would be pulled from Steam if they didn’t remove so-called pornographic content. The affected games included dating sim “HuniePop,” color-matching puzzler “Tropical Liquor,” and pirate-themed visual novel “Mutiny!!” All three feature anime-style graphics and are overtly sexual in nature. War is coming to “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” this weekend. The new event mode lets three 10-man squads compete for dominance over a small slice of the Erangel map. Whenever someone dies, they reappear in a plane and parachute into the mayhem once again. The first team to score 200 points wins. If no team reaches 200 points before the 15-minute time limit, the team with the highest score gets the chicken dinner.
War shakes up the popular battle royale game’s usual formula, where 100 players engage in a free-for-all fight to the death on a large map that progressively gets smaller. They also need to scrounge for weapons and supplies. In War, each player is guaranteed to spawn with a random assault rifle, pistol, helmet, vest, and grenade. More loot can be found in buildings and care packages, which drop every 90 seconds.

More loot can be found in buildings and care packages, which drop every 90 seconds.

In a statement from Steam's blog, the company announced that they are no longer supporting Bitcoin as a method of payment in their store. This is due to the unpredictability of the currency and the high fees that come from using them.
In terms of Bitcoin's high fees, Valve revealed that when they started accepting the currency, the transaction fee that was charged to the customer is only 20 cents. However, that fee rose rapidly and now charges $20 per transaction today. Valve is not happy with the situation the Bitcoin puts its users in and the fact that they cannot control this fee is what eventually led them to decide to shut down the payment method.
Speaking of Bitcoin's unpredictability, Valve mentioned that the value of Bitcoin is only guaranteed for a short period of time. They said in a statement that: "So if the transaction doesn't complete within that window of time,...

Presumably, this is the end of an era. In the wee hours of the morning former Valve employee and Half-Life writer Marc Laidlaw published a story on GitHub which appears to be a full summary of the story planned for Half Life 3 if it were to ever be made. The story (which can be read by clicking the hyperlink prior to this) is penned by main man Gordon Freeman and chronicles the events of the game following Episode 2 of the series.
As with all things related to Half-Life, the internet is going berzerk, with the main reason why being that many believe this is an indicator that Half Life 3 will never happen. If it is, chances are there are a ton of Valve employees currently pissed off at Marc Laidlaw as he might very well have spoiled the story they've been developing for years now.

Video game movies. Oh, video game movies. This is one nut Hollywood has tried, and consistently failed, to crack for decades. Last year seemed to be the year they could finally get it right. With Warcraft and Assassin’s Creed approaching with their releases, the future for the genre of films seemed optimistic. Warcraft hit theaters, and while it did perform pretty well overseas, it largely failed here in the U.S. On a critical level, the movie itself left a lot to be desired. Assassin’s Creed hit, and despite the great premise, it pretty much fell flat on its face. All in all, the age of the video game movie seems to have been delayed indefinitely.
Now, to turn the conversation to the game developer Valve. Between the likes of Portal and Half-Life, this is one developer that’s consistently put out quality games. Perhaps even more famously,...

It’s been over three and a half years since filmmaker J.J. Abrams and video game producer Gabe Newell announced a forthcoming collaboration between their Bad Robot and Valve companies. It's been quite some time since J.J. Abrams and and Gabe Newell, head of Valve, announced that they would be joining forces in order to develop movie adaptations of both Half-Life and Portal. Over three years ago, it was revealed that filmmaker/producer J.J. Abrams and game-master Gabe Newell of Valve Software were working to collaborate to make games and movies, which included adaptations of popular Valve games Portal and Half-Life. We haven’t heard any updates in the three years since… until now. The Portal and Half-Life movie news initially was revealed during the Dice keynote talk in 2013. Newell said […]

With J.J. Abrams departing the Star Wars franchise (from a creative standpoint, he'll still serve as producer), surely he has loads of free time. With so many video game films on the horizon or in the works, perhaps the time is finally right to fast track the long delayed Portal and Half-Life films? Speaking to IGN to promote 10 Cloverfield Lane, Abrams stated, "Not yet, but they're in development. And we've got writers, and we're working on both those stories. But nothing that would be an exciting update." Abrams and Valve's Gabe Newell first hinted at their collaboration back at Dice 2013 but no substantial updates have been released about the project in the three years since. Do you think a Portal and/or Half-Life video game could be successful? Would you want Abrams to direct or just produce?...

A few years ago came word that J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot production company and Gabe Newell's gaming giant Valve were working together on several projects including adaptations of their two most notable franchises - "Half-Life" and "Portal".
Not much has changed since then, though in a new interview this week with IGN Abrams says both films are still quite active. Asked if he could offer an update on their progress, Abrams said:
"Not yet, but they're in development. And we've got writers, and we're working on both those stories. But nothing that would be an exciting update."
The Abrams-produced "10 Cloverfield Lane" now in cinemas is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, a filmmaker who rose to fame with an inspired short film based on "Portal".

For the longest time, the gaming industry has been on the cusp of the new generation of virtual reality devices and now, we have firm details regarding the platform that’ll be hitting the market first – the Htc Vive.
Priced at $799 in the United States (£689 in the UK), pre-orders are now open for the hardware, with the base package arriving with the Vive itself, two controllers, the console’s laser tracking system, along with the bonus of three games: whimsical physics title Job Simulator, Fantastic Contraption, and novel 3D painting tool Tilt Brush. That first batch of systems are reportedly selling out fast, so if you are keen to place your money down to reserve one, now is the time to do so.
Now that the pre-orders are live and Htc Vive is little over a month out from launch, the company’s Cher Wang released a statement revealing that...

It’s a pretty good bet that you had a decent December 25. Spending time with, or as they case may be, away from your family or just basking in the loving glow of rampant consumerism. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, it’s a day off from work, school, or whatever. For most people Christmas is a pretty great day, regardless of whatever is going on in the world around them.
There’s one group of people that didn’t have a great Christmas: Valve employees. For several hours on December 25th, during Steam’s biggest sale of the year, they had to take the community and store services offline. The short version of what happened is that due to a mixup in Steam’s caching system users were being logged into different user’s accounts. One of gaming's most anticipated titles, Half-Life 2: Episode 3, never arrived. Why? We take a look at the mystery behind Half-Life 3...
1998 was a much simpler time in the world of gaming, especially that of the Fps. Back then, gamers were more than happy with wave after wave of foes that were obliged to throw themselves in front of their sights, and the idea of a worthwhile narrative wasn't considered all that essential. Games like Unreal, Quake II, and Turok were among the most popular Fps titles around, and action was very much the focus. Until the arrival of a landmark title from Sierra, a title that would change the face of the Fps forever.

In anticipation for Valve’s latest line of Steam hardware (Steam Machine and Steam Controller), video game stores across the Us, Canada and the UK will have a dedicated section later on this year. According to a report on PC Gamer, stores such as GameStop, Game and Eb Games will be making shelving space ready for the launch of the new Valve console and accessories.
Valve CEO, Gabe Newell, said that “[c]reating a ‘store within a store’ across North America and the UK is a significant win for getting the first generation of Steam Hardware products into gamers’ hands.”
The new hardware and controller are set for release on November 10th, 2015 with the aforementioned retailers being the exclusive bricks ‘n’ mortar game stores to purchase the hardware from. There is also a limited preorder offer where gamers who purchase any of the hardware will receive a free copy of Portal and/or Rocket League.

Good question, Barrett.
E3 2015 will surely go down as one of the best. While it didn’t have the compelling narrative of the 2013 conferences, the battle between Microsoft and Sony this time round was a lot more pleasing to watch. Aside from one sassy comment regarding backwards compatibility during the Microsoft briefing, the two video game giants largely ignored each other, and the message of the day seemed to be less about sticking it to the other guy, and more about trying to delight the fans.
In that regard, E3 2015 was an unmitigated success. Microsoft opened the show on Monday morning with a conference that was confident and well paced, hitting their stride early and keeping things moving along until the end. They didn’t stop to remind us that we should all be watching TV through our consoles, and apparently, it seems they’ve forgotten that Kinect even exists like everyone else has.

Following an angry backlash, Valve has put an end to paid-for mods in games like Skyrim - after less than a week...
When Valve announced last week that it was to allow users to sell its own mods through Steam, it clearly hadn't anticipated the backlash the news would cause.
A petition on Change.org argued that paid mods would "create a huge hole in the PC gaming community." That petition received support from more than 130,000 signatories. Skyrim modder James Ives revealed that he'd received "countless death threats", according to an interview with Polygon.
In the face of the rising furore, Valve's Gabe Newell appeared on Reddit to answer questions from concerned Steam users. Bethesda, the producers of Skyrim, argued that mod creators "should be paid for their work and treated like the game developers they are."
In another Polygon article, mod creator Aaron San Filippo argued that paid-for...

Shortly after confirming their release window, Valve has provided new details on the asking price for its diverse range of custom-built Steam Machines, all of which are slated to launch this November.
In outsourcing manufacturing to companies such as Alienware and Falcon Northwest, Valve has been able to run the gamut in terms of design, with the core trait being that all of the devices run and support SteamOS. As for pricing, the entry model — built by iBuyPower — will weigh in at $459.99, with the spectrum stretching all the way up to the mammoth Falcon Northwest model, which ranges from $1999 to an eye-watering $4999 depending on the technical components you choose to line its striking frame with.

Steam Greenlight is a great tool for indie game developers, but one recent addition, Hatred, seemed to spark a lot of controversy upon it's "release", and even more once it was pulled down. So what's the big deal and why does it matter? Cinelinx takes a look.
Hatred, an isometric shooter releasing next year, has already come under fire pre-release. On the 15th the game was removed from Steam's Greenlight service, which is a service that allows developers to preview their games to Steam users with trailers and gameplay. Hatred was most likely taken down due to it's extremely controversial vision. Earlier this month marked the 10-year anniversary of arguably the greatest first-person shooter ever made, Half-Life 2. Valve’s insanely anticipated game had endured ridiculous delays (in large part due to much of the game’s code being leaked online), but the final product was without question completely worth the wait, totally outdoing the original game and delivering a shooter that has long endured ever since.
So, what better time to look back at the history of the Half-Life franchise and all the awesome things it has given birth to? From the best missions and moments throughout the two main games and four expansions to the other tangential spin-offs they led to (but not Portal, because it’s just a little too different), this list will be examining what has made Valve’s flagship series such a mainstay of the genre.

We recently reported on the indie game Paranautical Activity being pulled from Steam after one of its developers threatened to kill Valve CEO Gabe Newell over Twitter. Since then, the person behind the threats, Mike Maulbeck – co-owner of Code Avarice – has stepped down from the company, selling his half of the business to another employee.
Earlier in the week, the developer unleashed a torrent of angry outbursts on his Twitter profile after Valve released Paranautical Activity as an Early Access game rather than a full release, which Maulbeck said it should have been. After tweeting that he was, “going to kill Gabe Newell,” Valve immediately terminated their professional relationship.
Now, Maulbeck has accepted full responsibility for his actions, admitting that he felt angry at the confusion caused by the way the game was marketed. In an official statement on the developer’s website, Maulbeck had this to say about his resignation:

It appears the tide of sending death threats over Twitter is still quite strong, as Valve recently removed a game from Steam after Gabe Newell received death threats from one of its developers. Paranautical Activity creator Mike Maulbeck is now feeling the repercussions of broadcasting such threats over the Internet, all of which stemmed from an issue that he had with the way that Steam marketed the game.
According to a report on EuroGamer, Maulbeck said the game was meant to be a full release, but Valve were promoting it as an alpha title still in heavy development. He told the website that:
Valve marked our game as ‘now on Early Access’ as we released the final version (no longer in Early Access). I knew this would greatly cripple sales and confuse customers.

Oh, hello there fellow Half-Lifeians. I see you’re eager to read this article hoping our collective consciousness will aggregate, creating a powerful one-mind unit that will shake the internet and make the Valve democracy heed our call.
If you hum quietly while reading, it will make our plea stronger my brothers and sisters of The Church Of Freeman.
So once again another year is close to conclusion and still no Half Life 3 announcements. While rumours spread like warm butter in a frying pan, Gabe Newell and crew are keeping schtum about the whole affair. However, that doesn’t stop the Internet from clinging onto hopeful straws, especially since Valve went ahead and filed a trademark for HL3 recently, causing a stir amongst fans.
So to add to all that hysteria, here are seven things I (and many others) are hoping for in the next instalment of Gordon Freeman And His Super Wacky Adventures.

The Gabe Newell-led company opened up a teaser site earlier today, teasing that they've "been working on even more ways to connect the dots for customers who want Steam in the living-room."
While Valve's Steam download service is effectively the dominant means of getting your game on for the PC, the service is still constrained by the limitations of building within an Os ecosystem. In the past, Newell has been critical of Microsoft's new Windows 8 operating system.
A Valve-based console would offer a fairly robust library of games, although it remains to be seen how it would handle the sometimes quirky and variable nature of PC gaming.

Years of speculation, hints, teases, confirmations, and denials about Valve’s unannounced living room PC — the so-called Steam Box — might be coming to an end in the near future. The company has revealed that they will start to “roll out” information about the highly anticipated hardware sometime next week.
Valve co-founder Gabe Newell mentioned the upcoming Steam Box announcement yesterday at LinuxCon in New Orleans, saying in part:
“The next step in our contribution to this [expanding Steam to Linux] is to release some work we’ve done on the hardware side. Even more broadly in terms of the grand unification, we really don’t think that the fragmentation around the physical location or the input devices of computation is either necessary or desirable for software developers or for consumers.”
“None of the propriety closed platforms are going to be able to provide that grand unification between mobile, the living room, and the desktop.

It's all in the eyes, apparently. "Half-Life 2" voice actor John Patrick Lowrie, responding to comments on his blog , says that Valve's currently not actively developing "Half-Life 3."
Kotaku pointed out the comments (via a NeoGAF thread), where Lowrie--who also provided voices for "Dota 2" and whose wife Ellen McClain is the voice of GlaDOS--made the claim that the challenge of capturing realistic human eye movement was the reason Valve wasn't actively developing a follow-up to the beloved sci-fi Fps.
Here's the meatiest comment from the actor:
Here is the biggest challenge with bringing out HL3: the big thing now with FPSs is motion capture, or mo-cap. One of the great things about HL2 is that all of the characters that you meet actually look at you when they talk to you no matter where you go or stand. With mo-cap you can’t do that, at least not yet. Once...

It’s slightly forgivable and understandable if you are unaware of who John Carmack is considering he is not a household name like say, Hideo Kojima or Gabe Newell, so here is a brief rundown. Do you enjoy playing your Call of Duty games? Well without this man, First Person Shooters probably would have taken far longer to emerge onto to the gaming industry. He is the brainchild behind iconic and pioneering Fps franchises including Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein 3D, and Rage, all of which were developed by his founded studio, id Software. He is also literally a rocket scientist which has nothing to do with anything but come on, that’s awesome.
Multiple media outlets have reported that Carmack was spotted demoing Doom 3: Bfg Edition for the Oculus Rift; a head mounted virtual reality display simulator currently trying to get off the ground via Oculus Vr and Kickstarter. The...
