Big news for all you Marvel enthusiasts out there! C.B. Cebulski, the top guy at Marvel Comics, spilled the beans at Italy’s Lucca Comics & Games event. And guess what? A special treat is coming your way featuring none other than Black Widow and Hawkeye.
This isn’t just another storyline. It marks six decades of nail-biting adventures with Natasha Romanov and Clint Barton. Their loyalty to each other has been a beacon through thick and thin, and it’s about to get even more interesting.

She’s crafting the narrative this time. And the vivid images from Captain Marvel: Dark Tempest? That magic touch belongs to Paolo Villanelli. With such a duo behind the scenes, anticipation is sky-high!

Deadpool: Badder Blood has taken Rob Liefeld on a long road. The writer and artist crafted the opening pages in late 2017 — but then he and Marvel agreed to detour to other things — including work celebrating anniversaries of Deadpool and X-Force.
All along, Liefeld has kept the ideas for Badder Blood alive. And nearly six years later, the first of five issues is finally in comic book shops.
Badder Blood is a sequel to Deadpool: Bad Blood, which broke ground by showing Wade Wilson (Aka Deapdool) as a middle schooler, setting up a friendship between Wade and a boy who eventually would become the antagonist Thumper later in life.
The series heavily features Thumper, who gained his powers by attempting to follow in Wade Wilson’s footsteps in the Weapon X program. In Badder Blood, he has become such a big threat that it will require an assortment of characters to help contain him.

In 1940, Mlj Publishers had a problem. Their standout artist Jack Cole (best known as the creator of Plastic Man) had left the company, abandoning the hit series Pep Comics and its star the Comet. Without Cole’s pencils, the Comet didn’t pop in the same way, and the company needed something drastic to save its sales. So in Pep Comics #17, a thug guns the Comet down, inspiring his brother to become a new hero called the Hangman.
The first superhero death in comic books set the trend for all that followed. Pep killed off the Comet not for any story reason, but because they wanted to goose sales. And not only does his death launch another hero, but he doesn’t stay dead for good — Mlj (now Archie Comics) brought back the Comet in the 1960s and the 1980s, eventually licensing him to DC Comics.

Disney owns the Marvel Comics company, and when Disney acquired the 20th Century Fox film studio a couple years ago, it gave Marvel the chance to publish comic books inspired by 20th Century properties like Alien, Predator, and Planet of the Apes. Marvel has already gotten Alien and Predator comic books out on the shelves, and we reported last year that a Planet of the Apes comic book was in the works for a 2023 release. Now The Hollywood Reporter has learned that when that book is released in April, it’s going to be used to launch a new Marvel imprint: the 20th Century Studios line. The Alien and Predator comic books, and any other 20th Century property that ends up getting the comic treatment from Marvel, will also be part of this imprint.

C.B. Cebulski, editor-in-chief at Marvel Comics, swept into Singapore Comic Con last week to share his insights on business trends in the Asian comics industry. Held as part of the Singapore Media Festival, Singapore Comic Con saw a 21 percent increase in visitorship this year compared to 2019. Cebulski was featured on a panel discussion titled “Breaking into the International Comics Market,” covering topics ranging from business practices to artistic innovation.
“I think we’ll be seeing more up-and-coming artists from Asia looking to focus on interior art and sequential storytelling, rather than just cover assignments,” said Cebulski, on creative shifts he sees in the region for the near future. He also anticipates art styles moving away from video game and anime-inspired forms, towards more hand-drawn, personal and culturally influenced line work, which is less reliant on computer rendering.

Johnny Blaze will reign as the King of Hell in a new Ghost Rider series from Marvel.
In the recent Damnation storyline, Johnny Blaze got a win so big that it would have worked as his final chapter if Marvel storytelling wasn’t contingent on stories never actually ending. As Ghost Rider, he not only defeated Mephisto on the demon’s home turf, but he’s also taken him off the board and now rules Hell in his place. Yeah, Ghost Rider is the King of Hell. That's pretty much the top prize when your whole deal is punishing sinners and being metal beyond belief.
So now we get to see where leadership brings him and his brother Danny Ketch in Ghost Rider #1, written by Ed Brisson with art by Aaron Kuder. Wearing the crown, Johnny spends his days playing warden to a realm of demons and evil men,...

Marvel Entertainment sent comic book fans into a tizzy June 16 after posting a cryptic image depicting a spider web in the shape of the number four. The image created a stir on social media as Marvel fans took the graphic to be a tease that Sam Raimi’s once-in-development “Spider-Man 4” might finally see the light of day as a comic book. Marvel Entertainment has not confirmed anything about the image, further stoking rumors online.
While 20th Century Fox released “X-Men” in 2000, it’s usually Sam Raimi and Sony Pictures’ “Spider-Man” in 2002 that’s given credit for kicking off the comic book movie boom of the 21st century. The film, starring Tobey Maguire as the web-slinging superhero and Kirsten Dunst as love interest Mary Jane Watson, broke the opening weekend box office record at the time with $114 million. “Spider-Man” ended its run with $821 million worldwide, and Raimi and his cast...

As cool as it was to see Spider-Man in his black suit, battling Venom both physically and mentally, we have Spider-Man 3 to thank for Sam Raimi’s fourth outing never seeing the light of day. Tobey Maguire’s Spidey was supposed to go up against Mysterio and Lizard, but Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland’s web-slingers have faced or will face off against them instead.
Here’s some good news for those fans who were curious to see what Spider-Man 4 would’ve looked like though: you might not have to wait much longer.

When it comes to comic book deaths these days, it sure does seem like very few readers take them seriously. Heck, even something as long-standing as Jason Todd’s demise was eventually overturned by DC. Fortunately, that payed dividends because he’s really caught on as the Red Hood in the time since.
In the case of Marvel, they’ve been guilty of this practice just as much. Perhaps a big part of the problem is that the Big Two will bring characters back only a few years after killing them off, as opposed to decades. Wonderfully executed as it was, the death and return of Wolverine could be cited as a prime example (Logan was gone for only three or four years).
While speaking at a Swedish convention, Marvel’s Editor-in-chief, C.B. Cebulski, said the following regarding taking these matters more seriously:

In 2015 Marvel Comics brought an end to Fantastic Four, which was one of its longest continuous comic series ever. It was a big surprise, but it happened around the time when Fox was going to release that terrible Fantastic Four film. I heard rumors that the reason Marvel canceled the comic series was to stick it to Fox because they were going through some tense times. But regardless of what the reason was, Marvel brought it to an end.
Marvel Comics has now revealed that they are officially bringing Fantastic Four back in a new ongoing series! I guess now that Disney is buying Fox, they feel it's okay to bring Marvel's first family back together. If we ever do see a new Fantastic Four movie, it's going to come from Marvel Studios next time. It only makes sense that they'd want a Fantastic Four comic to help in their marketing efforts.

One thing that’s ticked off True Believers in recent years was that of the Fantastic Four being given the short end of the stick by the House of Ideas. Having been dubbed their “First Family” for good reason, pretty much the entire Marvel Universe owes their existence to that quartet of heroes.
Of course, much of this had to do with the Fantastic Four’s cinematic rights residing over at Fox, thus forcing Marvel to cut off its own nose to spite its face. In fact, even the X-Men were on the outs for a time, but some justification can be made for cancelling Fantastic Four books because they weren’t selling as well – and there was also word on the street that the publisher wanted to distance itself from the 2015 box office flop.
But now that everyone’s had almost three years to rid that taste from their mouth,...

In recent years, Marvel’s big events have been somewhat reactionary to whatever may be going on in the movies, with Civil War II being a prime example of that. And with the theatrical release of Avengers: Infinity War being just around the corner, many True Believers were probably expecting for some sort of grand cosmic tale to develop. Well, if that was your assumption, then you were 100% correct.
As it turns out, it’ll come in the form of Infinity Countdown, a five-issue series which we’re learning about via the exact same hyberbole that preceded every Marvel event in the past decade or so. Being billed as “the greatest epic in the history of the Infinity Stones” that will “lead to an even greater story – and one that will impact the entire Marvel Universe.”

It turns out a popular comic book writer — who fans had been led to believe is Japanese — is actually a white American guy. New Marvel Comics editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski has now admitted he posed as “Akira Yoshida,” a popular Japanese manga writer. The revelation comes after years of denials from Cebulski, according to fan site Bleeding Cool, which reported Cebulski even created a phony backstory to explain Yoshida’s origins. “I stopped writing under the pseudonym Akira Yoshida after about a year,” Cebulski told the Bleedingcool.com, which first reported the story on Tuesday. “I was young and naïve and had a.

Marvel and Netflix's epic experiment with street-level superheroes is an amazing success, spawning multiple seasons for each show and spinning-off one new series (so far): The Punisher. Beginning in 2015 with Daredevil, and shortly thereafter Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, we've traveled through the greasy underbelly of New York's toughest neighborhoods -- and fans want more, much more! Even though each show's lead hero and primary villains have received all the media attention, it's the secondary and surprise characters -- from Misty Knight to Colleen Wing to Frank Castle to Stick and Elektra -- who've shaped and defined these worlds.
Daredevil Season 2 alone gave us Elektra, Frank Castle, and The Hand! Consequently, when each series is renewed (or a new series is announced), there's understandable excitement and speculation regarding who else might pop-up -- we've certainly written several articles on this topic! The Punisher arrives on Netflix this fall,...

By now, most of us will have binge-watched all eight episodes of Marvel’s The Defenders and are left wondering “so, what’s next?” Well, coming up we have a handful of follow-up seasons to all four of the Defenders’ solo shows, as well as a spinoff for The Punisher, who previously appeared on Daredevil.
While those are all well and good, it would be in the studio’s best interests to inject some new blood into this corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to keep it fresh. By the time The Defenders season 2 rolls out – it hasn’t been confirmed just yet, mind you, but it’s surely a cert – we want to see the likes of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage team up with some different heroes.
But which new characters would be perfect fits for the gritty, grounded – but with a mystical edge – world of the Marvel/Netflix series?...
