“We visited the Mohoza group, which is made up of a male silverback (the very handsome and strong Mohoza), eight females, and three infants. The babies are so cute!” said Portia in her online journal. "Once you’ve been in the presence of mountain gorillas, you are forever changed. It made me think about the fragile success they’re experiencing. There were at least 14 gorilla babies born last year and a slight increase in their total population in the past few years. This wasn’t just luck.
“It’s because of the massive commitment to the gorillas from The Fossey Fund, the Rwandan Development Board and other conservation partners. So now is the time to double down, to get more people...

“The groundbreaking was incredible,” wrote Portia. "There were dancers, drummers and a lot of inspirational speeches about the potential of the Campus.
“It’s going to be amazing — truly state of the art, bringing interactive exhibits to educate tourists and local communities; labs and on-site residence for scientists; and classrooms to train the next generation of conservationists. The Campus construction will employ 1,500 people and millions will be invested directly to the local community!
“In my groundbreaking speech, I spoke about how Ellen was inspired by Dian Fossey when Ellen was a young girl. As I said, “Seeing that brave American woman, a scientist, who left her comfortable life to set up a tent in...

On Saturday, Paramore shocked fans when they announced the departure of two of their founding bandmates, brothers Josh and Zac Farro.
In their statement, the group's remaining members wrote that "for the last year it hasn't seemed as if [the Farros] wanted to be around anymore," adding that "we want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy." Well on Monday (December 20), we might have gotten a sneak preview of just what will be making drummer Zac Farro happy in the near future: a brand-new musical project called Tunnel.
According to Alternative Press, Farro has teamed with fellow musician Jason Clark on the project, and the first song by the duo — a dreamy, gauzy track called "Hide Your Eyes" — can now...

With sexy moves, a hint of violence and pyrotechnics, the singer delivered a nearly two-hour set (following opening sets from Travie McCoy and Ke$ha) that was capped by a surprise appearance by none other than Eminem.
The show began shortly after 7:30 p.m. as Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy hit the stage in support of his debut solo album, Lazarus. Tattooed from head to toe, wearing jeans, a T-shirt, suspender straps and a paperboy hat,...
