The problem with found footage movies is sometimes, instead of pulling the audience closer into the action, we end up thinking that the person behind the camera is just an idiot who should have dropped it and run for his life when things got dangerous. However their are rare occassions where you can just enjoy being taken along for the ride… As is the case with Digging Up the Marrow.
Playing himself Adam Green films a documentary about a man, William Dekker (Ray Wise) who contacts him promising proof of the existence of monsters in the world. Taking Will Barratt along with him as camera man he interviews Dekker about the claims, agreeing to investigate the claims.

Part documentary, part narrative, there are no easy labels for writer/director Adam Green’s latest movie, Digging Up the Marrow. On one hand, it features Green and a number of his regular collaborators playing themselves. At the same time, it stars Ray Wise as a Dr. Loomis-esque obsessive on the hunt for real-life monsters. It’s told as a straightforward documentary, but it also features cool-looking monsters designed by artist Alex Pardee (whose artwork served as the inspiration for the film). The pieces might be recognizable in and of themselves, but put together they make Digging Up the Marrow a movie that doesn’t quite feel like anything else out there.
It’s difficult to describe the premise of Marrow without giving too much away, and this is the kind of film where it’s better to go in cold. Suffice it to say that Green plays himself, a...

After the success of this week's red carpet premiere of Hatchet III at La’s Egyptian Theatre, Dread Central decided to take a moment and look back at the team who has brought us one of modern horror’s most enduring icons.
Joining series creator Adam Green since the very beginning were producers Cory Neal and Sarah Elbert as well as cinematographer Will Barratt. This incredible trio of creative talent not only assisted Green in the creation of his initial Hatchet short, but they have all been with him every step of the way through the trilogy that followed.
Dread Central had an opportunity to sit down with Neal, Elbert, and Barratt to get their thoughts on the phenomenally successful franchise and what it means to be a part of Green’s enduring genre legacy.

The latest yearly Halloween short from Adam Green and ArieScope Pictures has landed online today, and it takes the time to answer one of the horror's genre's most burning questions via deleted scene! You have Got to see this!
In John Carpenter’s 1978 classic Halloween, “Michael Myers” was suddenly able to drive a car after having sat in a sanitarium staring at the wall since childhood. While the filmmakers addressed this slight plot hole briefly in the original movie with a throwaway line by Donald Pleasence (“Maybe someone around here gave him lessons”), we here at ArieScope Pictures were fortunate enough to track down a never-before-seen deleted scene from Halloween that thoroughly explains what really happened. Our 14th annual Halloween short film parodies our favorite slasher film of all time and stars Joel David Moore (Avatar, Dodgeball) and Kane Hodder (Hatchet 1-3, Friday The 13th 7-10) as “Michael Myers”.

This past Sunday, March 11th, during the SXSW Film Festival, a "Holliston" panel was held with creator, director, actor, and genre favorite Adam Green, actor and executive producer Joe Lynch, and FEARnet president and executive producer Peter Block during which some footage was shown, and now we have it here for you in all its unedited glory!
"Holliston" invades homes on Tuesday, April 3rd, at 10:30 pm on FEARnet.
About "Holliston"
Adam and Joe are two down on their luck guys living in the small New England town of Holliston, Massachusetts, and struggling to chase their dream of becoming horror movie filmmakers... all while dealing with life, their day jobs, and the opposite sex. With a cast that includes a cross-dressing sexually inappropriate boss, a mentally handicapped cat, and an imaginary friend/alien who lives in the closet... "Holliston" re-invents the traditional sit-com as we know it and breaks new (and sometimes bloody) ground.
