Exclusive: Garret Dillahunt (Where the Crawdads Sing), Elizabeth Mitchell (The Purge: Election Year), Shawn Ashmore (ABC’s The Rookie) and Jessy Schram (Unstoppable) have been tapped to star in The Hunstman, a psychological thriller from director Kyle Kauwika Harris (Out of Exile) that’s going into production in Oklahoma next month.
An adaptation of Judith Sanders’s novel scripted by Steven Jon Whritner, the film centers on a repressed ICU nurse (Ashmore) volunteering as a reader for a recovering coma patient (Dillahunt), the prime suspect in the savage murders of six young women in a small southwestern town. The suspect’s wife (Mitchell), refusing to believe that her husband is the killer, struggles with the mounting complexities of the investigation. With a dedicated detective (Schram) trying to solve the mystery before more bodies turn up, numerous other suspects take the case on a spiraling journey.

Can Maggie Lockwood save the day again? The next new episode of Chicago Med will test her skills as she tries to save a co-worker.
The TV promo for Chicago Med Season 9, Episode 10 hints that a doctor could die. It’s a big tease, especially since it involves someone who has become a fan favorite.
The show is also returning to a familiar storyline, where a helicopter goes down that is carrying some primary characters.
Chicago Med Season 4, Episode 12 also dealt with a Medevac helicopter crash. The episode was called The Things We Do, and Dr. Natalie Manning had to be saved.
Chicago Fire fans also saw a helicopter crash in Season 3, Episode 8. That installment was called Chopper, and it took everyone from Firehouse 51 to save a neighborhood where the helicopter crashed.

A new episode of Chicago Med debuts on Wednesday night, with the plot revolving around the transplant surgery for Dr. Dean Archer.
Archer has been dealing with kidney failure, but a donor finally surfaced in the form of his son. Now, his son is ready to give his father one of his kidneys.
But it wouldn’t be a One Chicago show without an episode where something threatened to take away that kidney.
Actor Steven Weber joined the Chicago Med cast in 2021, bringing energy on the opposite end of the spectrum from other Ed doctors.
Archer came over from the military and had a friendship with Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee).
The first Chicago Med Season 9 episode brought everyone up to speed on Archer’s predicament, introduced a new cast member, and revealed Dr. Daniel Charles has ties to the new guy.

It’s been a long wait for NBC’s Chicago Med to return with its 9th Season but with the premiere less than a week away (January 17), Deadline has some juicy nuggets to tease about the show’s return.
In the Season 8 finale, the medical drama said goodbye to Day 1-er Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) who handed in his resignation after finding himself more and more unsettled with the new changes implemented at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center following Jack Dayton’s purchase of the hospital. His main concern was Dayton’s insistence on using the O.R. 2.0. even after a machine error caused the death of a patient and could’ve also claimed Dayton’s life.
Dayton’s live surgery for investors cost him nearly all his money after showing the high-tech machine wasn’t ready for showtime. So to stay afloat financially, Dayton sells the hospital.

Canada, the home of winter, looks to have no shortage of snowy inns set against fairytale-like landscapes with piles and piles of the white, fluffy stuff.
That’s because Hallmark, long a major producer of Christmas TV movies, shoots a lot of holiday flicks in Canada, even if the plotlines are set south of the border. So do a lot of other U.S. producers for whom British Columbia, Manitoba and Ontario offer real snow, iconic mountains and other varied wintry locations to keep American producers in furry parkas coming north with their cameras and Hollywood stars.
In fact, there’s more to budget-friendly production tricks than fake snow on these TV movie shoots, as humble Canada stands in small-town America strung with colorful lights. Shooting north of the border allows producers to tap generous tax breaks and currency savings, seasoned local actors and crews and ample studios and costume...

There's never a dull moment on Chicago Med, but the NBC drama will open its doors to someone with ties to one of the show's longest-serving cast members.
TVLine reports that the series is eyeing "an early thirtysomething male Emergency Department doctor."
The mystery individual will have a connection with Dr. Charles (played by Oliver Platt).
Initially, the new character will be a recurring player, but as we've seen in the past, people tend to get upgraded to series regular status if they resonate with viewers.
The unnamed new addition "comes from a troubled background, which led him to cross paths with Dr. Charles when he was growing up."
Like other long-running series, Chicago Med has lost its fair share of cast members throughout the years, but Chicago Med Season 8 wrote out many ongoing cast members.

It's time to start getting in the Christmas spirit - at least, according to the Hallmark Channel, which released its full slate of holiday movies on Sept. 19. This year's crop of films features a number of new faces and fresh plots to immerse you in the scent of pine trees and the sound of Christmas carols, as well as some relatively familiar faces, such as John Travolta's sister Ellen, who stars in "Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up."
Hallmark will begin airing its holiday movies on Oct. 20, starting with "Checkin' It Twice," a romance that follows a real estate agent who falls in love with a hockey player. The 40 films will air on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8 p.m. Et, with additional features also airing every Thursday on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel, with a few exceptions. Yesterday, Great American Family announced its Great American Christmas programming slate, and on Tuesday, the Hallmark Channel did the same announcing their expansive “Countdown to Christmas” lineup of original films that will take place on both the flagship cable network as well as sibling channel Hallmark Movies & Mysteries (which hosts the annual Miracles of Christmas lineup) and direct-to-consumer (Dtc) streaming service Hallmark Movies Now.

Hallmark has revealed that it will have 40 all-new, original movies for both its flagship channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, as well as special content for Hallmark Movies Now, the company’s subscription streaming service.
Even though the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes impacted TV and film productions, Hallmark anticipated the labor dispute by getting a head start on production in Canada. “Christmas is a year-round business at Hallmark, so we were able to mitigate early in the year understanding that the strikes were unfortunately imminent,” Lisa Hamilton Daly, EVP of programming at Hallmark Media, was recently quoted as saying. “We’re grateful to meet all our goals for a full, all-new holiday slate and to bring our viewers the content they love most to celebrate the season.”

When I think back on the ABC fairytale series Once Upon a Time, I first and foremost picture the “requel” season’s Cinderella 2.0 on a motorcycle.
Just kidding; no I don’t. And I’d argue that no Ouat fan does. And yet that is the hero/landing page image that Hulu chose to trumpet Ouat‘s return to the platform, which now shares custody of the series with sister streamer Disney+.

NBC’s Chicago P.D. Season 11 is hopefully coming soon, though the season’s experiencing severe delays due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. While writers and actors continue to strike for fair pay and better working conditions, fans wonder when new episodes of their favorite shows will premiere. So, when will Chicago P.D. Season 11 premiere? Here’s what we suspect.
When will ‘Chicago P.D.’ Season 11 premiere with the actors and writers strike?
Chicago P.D. Season 11 doesn’t have a confirmed premiere date just yet. Typically, the season premieres in the fall of 2023, along with NBC’s fall lineup. But NBC’s fall lineup in 2023 looks a lot different due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The network is prioritizing reality TV shows and shows they acquired pre-strike.
So, what does that mean for Chicago P.D.? Currently, the actors and writers aren’t meeting to discuss the One Chicago series,...

“In spite of all his efforts, he’s finding out how vulnerable he is,” Steven Weber says of Dr. Dean Archer as his health worsens on Chicago Med. Dean needs a kidney transplant, and he does have support, in his life right now. His relationship with his son, Sean (Luigi Sottile), who has offered up his if he’s a match, is much better than it’s been. Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) is by his side… but might both Archer men be interested? Weber previews the final two episodes of the season. Dean’s not doing so well health-wise. What are we going to see from that in these final two episodes of the season? Steven Weber: We’re going to see more revelations involving how he deals with being vulnerable and asking for help. He’s not used to that. He’s used to assuming that he’s...

With the variety of dilemmas they cover, it was bound to happen. With Fantasy Island Season 2 Episode 11, the showrunners and writers tap into my Achilles' Heel for trauma, children of divorce who turn into pleasers out of fear of abandonment.
Yeah, I legit cried when Arthur and Melanie owned their suckiness because only on Fantasy Island do we get to see parents turn their crappy parenting around. But I could be jaded about this sort of thing.
Meanwhile, Ruby's response to learning about Elena's interference with Isla is such an authentic reaction I could kiss the writer that wrote those scenes. Talk about respecting the character.
While some might argue that Elena's actions echo that of an overprotective parent, a stronger parallel can be drawn between our Ms. Roarke and the Island's newest guest, the jilted and bereft Laura Turner.

More good programming coming your way this week. If you think it sounds bad, but we say it's good, have some faith!!
This week, you can't go wrong with Hallmark's A Pinch of Portugal, Amityville: An Origin Story on MGM+ (it follows the From premiere!), or Saint X on Hulu.
Love & Death on HBO Max is well worth the watch (no matter how much you know about the story), and the movie Clock on Hulu will give women nightmares. We're loving these female-driven productions.
See what else we recommend below.

Chicago Med's Jessy Schram Talks About Asher's Evolution, Advocacy, and Impacting Viewers Positively
Chicago Med's Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) has had quite a character arc.
She originally crossed paths with Will Halstead when he was working at a safe house for active heroin users and struggled with sobriety, eventually leaving the hospital to get clean. Now, she's back, sober, and an advocate for others with drug problems.
TV Fanatic recently had the opportunity to catch up with Jessy Schram ahead of Asher's big story on Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 14 and get her take on Asher's evolution, current stories, and more. Read on!
I know you have another big episode coming up tonight. But before we get to that, as you know, Hannah had been written out of the show and brought back in. When you were written off the first time, did you expect to return?
They always told me that since my character didn't die, there was always a chance to come back.

In the world of “Chicago Med,” it’s not unusual for doctors to fall in love with each other. But no one could predict that sparks may fly between Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber) and Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram).
