- At ages 19 & 20, during the day, Jesse would traverse the streets of Malibu, the Hollywood Hills, and Old Town Pasadena to clean houses, offices, and apartments; scrubbing sinks, tiles, and toilets. And in the evening, he worked in a variety of theaters with a variety of actors including Arliss Howard, Jerry Levine, and Elias Koteas.
- In his early 20's was mentored by the artist Barry Simons.
- In 2011, Jesse traveled to and lived in Paris, France to write a thesis: Je Suis L'Autre. It was a rambling account of identity negotiation with the banning of le voile and the expulsion of les gens du voyage acting as anchors. At Institute Catholique, he performed a poetry reading entitled "Les Elements" to graduate students utilizing the connection between Picasso and Apollinaire. Jesse also invented his own uniquely styled English class that he provided to both children and adults throughout Paris. And, while he had hoped that he'd cross paths with Sophie Marceau, he had the most enchanting of Parisian styled encounters with the actor Vincent Lindon. It was there in Paris where Jesse felt the most comfortable and the most at home.
- In 2022, Jesse returned to the practice and craft of acting and was happy to learn that among many, some of the best to work with are Emmy Rossum and Juliana Canfield.
