- I'm a big nature geek. I like being out in nature.
- I'm constantly in transit for work, and I feel like sometimes my suitcase is the closest thing I have to home. I've become good at living sparsely, and making a hotel room feel like home - putting family photos up on the wall, and a candle can make all the difference.
- Wentworth (2013): I had an immediate connection to Franky. I was attracted to the fact that she was so powerful and willing to use that power, even sexual power. She is someone who is so dynamic, but she comes from a really messed-up childhood and that has impacted the way she operates
- It's wonderful. We didn't know we were going to get a fifth season; the news came in at the final hour. Particularly at this time, it's a privilege to know that you have work coming up and you're going to put something out in the world that will make people laugh and enjoy themselves.
- In huge ways! Your whole world and the perception of it is turned upside down, and that's what happened to me.
- I did a fan event in Melbourne and people flew in from Japan, Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand and places all around the globe. I'm really proud.
- I'm not going to lie, it can be intimidating and it wasn't something I anticipated going in. I didn't realise how much it would impact people, but it's nice to get feedback saying, "Thank you for your representation of Franky and of the LGBTQ+ community on screen.
- Oh, it's hard work. They're both hideous people and I can't stand them [laughs]. It's a great team and Miranda was a wonderful addition - I do believe she and I need our own spin-off. That's actually one of the things I'm most looking forward to post-isolation: going back to the set. I'm missing the teamwork and my mates.
- I haven't been here long at all. I'm constantly in transit for work, and I feel like sometimes my suitcase is the closest thing I have to home
- I've become good at living sparsely, and making a hotel room feel like home - putting family photos up on the wall, and a candle can make all the difference.
- When I arrive back from work travel, bed always seems the most inviting, but I'm often keen to reconnect with friends and family as quickly as possible.
- In researching those kinds of things for a character, I think it does make you more aware of the risks and the complications involved. But I'm generally able to keep my work and private life quite separate.
- I'm completely supportive and not judgemental of her choice as a character. It's certainly been interesting to play, as someone who's heavily pregnant, portraying someone who decides not to have children. It's certainly a really strong thread of Season 3 for Charlie. So navigating that as a character, and the actor playing that character, has been interesting.
- Amazing timing on this question, because The Handmaid's Tale finale was on last night, and I watched that, and that has been one of my favourite shows of late. I've been hooked on that. I also watched Killing Eve recently and devoured that -- it was so great, loved watching it.
- [on Doctor Doctor}; I love how quirky and flawed she is. I love that she's constantly figuring out how to be the best person she can be. I love that her relationship with Matt isn't perfect, but it's born of deep love.
- I think the Australian industry is still quite small, so I still do find myself auditioning for for most, if not all of my roles. I think that's part-and-parcel of the game. You get in there, you do it, and like anyone you hope for the best.
- Pure luck! So much of my industry, and the ability to work and continue working in my industry, does come down to sheer timing. I'm very grateful that things, for the most part, have slotted into place for me over the past few years.
- I think it's not just those elements you speak of, it's re-envisioning those elements, so allowing the people in the high pressure world of hospitals and medical drama to be quirky and flawed. It's allowing people and families from a country town to be weird and interesting. I think that's what the show does really well, and I think in a world that currently is quite dark politically, and there's a lot of shift going on socially, I think it's a nice reprieve for everyone.
- That was a pretty personal storyline for some of my fellow co-stars so I really felt the responsibility to do justice to that and make sure that loss was really felt and embodied.
- The Stella 'meat' that I've had to dig my teeth into has been huge.
- You trained as an actor but when you weren't in a production, you were part of the crew or designing costumes.
- We haven't yet seen her evolve into a woman and we wanted to explore that kind of growth and maturity. I was always interested in the level of self-destruction with Stella, the tension between good cop and rebel, and how she could remain likeable yet still do some messed-up stuff.
- Living out of a suitcase for a while, like a gypsy.
