Alan Cumming is inviting a new batch of contestants to his Scottish mansion, and we finally know when the deception and backstabbing will all kick off.
Season 2 of The Traitors will begin streaming on Peacock on Friday, Jan. 12 with the first three episodes, TVLine has learned. Episodes will debut Thursdays at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT after that. The new season will also be accompanied by an official after-show, The Traitors Postmortem, which will feature “additional footage and interviews with eliminated contestants” and will be available on Peacock as well as the streamer’s YouTube channel.
Peacock has released a trailer for Season 2 as well, which you can watch above. As previously announced, the 11-episode run (plus reunion special) will feature competitive reality stars from Big Brother, The Challenge, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Survivor, Bling Empire and more, plus a professional boxer, Michael Jordan’s son and a former member of the UK Parliament. (Get the full cast rundown here.)
For the uninitiated, the unscripted competition series sees contestants tackling a series of challenges with the objective of accumulating a large cash prize. But three of the contestants are traitors looking to steal the prize out from under the other contestants known as “the faithful.” If the faithful can work together to banish the traitors by game’s end, they will win the prize pot. But if just one traitor makes it to the end, he or she will snatch the cash.
5 Reasons Why The Traitors Is Peacock’s First Legit PhenomenonView List
The cast for its debut season (which was released on Peacock as a 10-episode binge in January) included Survivor‘s Stephenie Lagrossa Kendrick and Cirie Fields, Big Brother‘s Cody Calafiore and Rachel Reilly Villegas, Below Deck‘s Kate Chastain, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Brandi Glanville and more.

Survivor is back for more blindsides and bloodshed, but is anyone else experiencing a serious case of déjà vu?
In the Season 42 premiere of the CBS reality staple, some things may have changed, though a lot has stayed exactly the same. (Did we really need the secret phrases and Shot in the Dark back?) But as Probst calls this new run “another evolution in the greatest social experiment seen on television,” we’re fine with giving him the benefit of the doubt. At least for now.

Lindsay Dolashewich will be bringing her hyper-competitive nature to “Survivor 42,” where she will be one of 18 new contestants. A registered dietician from Asbury Park, New Jersey, Lindsay is already in game mode, according to her CBS interview. The 31-year-old describes herself as a “tough chick,” having played tackle football from the ages of nine to 15. “No one’s gonna really push me around or try to tell me what to do,” she asserts. “If I wanna do something, I’m gonna do it.” She hopes that her competitive drive will make her an asset to her tribe, though she is hoping to focus on being present in the moment and not getting too stuck in her own mind.

“Survivor” may have its highs and lows, but those highs keep fans coming back for more. Who could have known in the summer of 2000 that a reality show about strangers stranded on an island would become one of the most enduring franchises in television history? Fans were first bewitched by that first season, later titled “Survivor: Borneo,” with its cast of colorful characters like Richard Hatch, Rudy Boesch and Sue Hawk. The series became a smash hit and go on to produce 40 seasons, two per year. Above, tour our photos of the 12 best “Survivor” seasons ranked from worst to best. (We’ll update it again after “Survivor: Winners at War” concludes in May 2020.)

Danni Boatwright just learned the hard way it’s never a good idea to go against Parvati Shallow. “I’ve never been voted out,” declared the winner of “Survivor: Guatemala” after coming up on the wrong side of the vote during Wednesday’s second episode of “Survivor: Winners at War.” “To have my torch snuffed is not a feeling that I wanted to experience,” Danni said before adding, “I still have life in this game and I’m holding onto that.”

“Survivor” superfans are currently hyped for the upcoming all-winners season, but it’s not always the case that the most popular contestant of the season is the one who wins. In fact, the audience tends to fall in love with those who just come up short of the $1 million prize, often more so than the champion. Players like Rupert Boneham, Cirie Fields and Joe Anglim will probably never win “Survivor,” no matter how many times they come back and try. Their likability is a double-edged sword — they’re genial enough to be safe through several Tribal Councils but once it gets toward the end, they’re too big of a jury threat to win. As we prepare for “Survivor: Winners at War,” here’s the ranking of our 16 favorite lovable losers we hoped would make it onto an all-winner season someday.

On Wednesday night 20 “Survivor” champions will begin their battle for the $2 million prize that comes with being named “Sole Survivor” of Season 40, “Winners at War.” Ten of those champions are the fiercest, most competitive and dynamic players to ever win the game. The other ten are men. Vote below in our poll to determine which female “Survivor” champion you are most rooting for this season.
Of all the women on this cast, Sandra Diaz-Twine is the name you’re probably most familiar with. Going into this cycle she remains the only player to ever win twice — first in Season 7 “Pearl Islands” and again in Season 20 “Heroes vs. Villains.” Unless she pulls off the seemingly impossible and wins again, one of her competitors will join her in that double win category. It could be Parvati Shallow, who lost to Sandra by only a few votes in the Season 20 finale. Parvati entered...

With 13 options to choose from over the 37 seasons of “Survivor,” 28% of fans who voted in our recent poll have decided that Coby Archa from Season 10 is the biggest threat to be eliminated at merge of all time. In “Survivor: Palau,” Coby’s original tribe Koror won eight of the season’s first nine immunity challenges, resulting in a eight-to-one majority at the time of the merge. Despite those unprecedented numbers, Coby’s own tribe voted him out before Ulong’s Stephenie Lagrossa because of his tendency to spill tribal secrets.
What Coby’s victory in the poll shows is something that is still true of “Survivor” game play: being among the majority alliance/tribe does not grant you 100% protection. In fact, being at the bottom of a powerful alliance can sometimes leave you vulnerable and/or make you a huge threat. Large alliances will get eager to vote out their...

"Survivor: Blood vs. Water" had a crazy thing happen last episode -- the Tribal Council, fueled by Hayden's last-ditch effort to sway Ciera's vote and save himself, went all the way to a drawing of rocks after two tie votes. It’s hard to interview someone returning to play Survivor when you haven’t even seen how or what they did the first time around. That was the situation when I spoke with Malcolm Freberg in May 2012 as he was getting ready to depart for Survivor: Caramoan — Fans vs. Favorites (premiering Feb. 13 on CBS). It was only two weeks after he had finished filming Survivor: Philippines (which would not air for another four months). Luckily, I did have a few things to go on. What’s harder than playing Survivor? Playing it twice. And what’s even harder than playing it twice? Playing it in back-to-back seasons. It used to be that people that played in consecutive seasons at least got a break of a few months. That’s how it was for Rupert Boneham, Stephenie Lagrossa, Bobby Jon Drinkard, Amanda Kimmel, and James Clement, who all went back-to-back. But when Russell Hantz did two in a row for Samoa and Heroes vs. Villains, he only received a two-and-a-half week break due to a shorter turnaround in production — which also made him the first...

Five finalists remain on "Survivor: Philippines" -- the Fab Four (Lisa, Michael Skupin, Malcolm and Denise) and .. Abi.
Going into tonight's (Dec. 12) final regular episode, the bigmouth Brazilian had two shots to stay in the game: winning immunity, or persuading two of the four to drag her along as a sacrificial goat.
Post-Tribal
The five finalists celebrate making it to Day 34, with Abi, oblivious as usual, profusely thanking the others for keeping her around. Maybe in her "culture" goats deserve respect?
In their confessionals, Lisa reiterates that she'll bring someone she can beat, no matter how "yucky" it feels to keep Abi around, while Malcolm calls Lisa's strategy an eye opener.
Skupin laughs at Abi's "ironic" reversal of fortune, saying: "I think you thought you were going to be here [in the final five], just with different people."
He also giggles about Abi's announcement "with trumpets" that she's going into the woods to get water,...

We've got a sneak peek of Wednesday night's (Oct. 17) episode of "Survivor: Philippines" for you, fans. The Kalabaw tribe gets a visit at camp, but not a welcome one.
In the clip, Jeff Probst and then the medical team are called in because Dana has a fever and her stomach is hurting on the right side, like a knifing pain that comes and goes. Medical thinks she could wait and see another 12 hours, drinking more fluids and reevaluate. But it's up to Dana.
Will she decide to see if she can tough it out? Meanwhile, this episode also features "a twist in the game" that changes tribe dynamics. We hope they aren't moving Malcolm and Denise to other tribes -- we were kind of hoping to see if they could Stephenie Lagross-it up.
"Survivor" airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. Et/Pt on CBS.

And then there were two. Malcolm Freberg and Denise Stapley are the Survivor: Philippines' last remaining members of the Matsing (blue) tribe. With Russell Swan's exit -- the first to go of the three returning vets -- the handsome bartender and the fierce sex therapist must go it alone.
Although the tribes could merge next week, don't forget that in "Survivor: Palau" the Ulong tribe lost seven immunity challenges in a row until all that remained of their tribe was Stephenie Lagrossa.

Apologies for the lateness of this recap of "Survivor: Philippines." Our CBS station preempted it for a congressional debate and "Survivor" aired in the middle of the night. Anyway, let's find out if Matsing can finally win something.
Matsing
Malcolm, Russell and Denise seem in pretty good spirits, all things considered. They certainly are down to three very strong competitors, so in the right kind of challenge, they could definitely win.
Russell starts looking for the Idol and Denise catches him. In a rather delightful bit of editing, he talks about how he's probably walking back and forth right in front of the Idol and the camera crew is going to focus right on it and of course, that's just what they do. It's nice he has the self-awareness to at least acknowledge he's kind of a doof. Heh.

Math was never my strongest subject. But it doesn’t take a genius to perform simple arithmetic, and by my count — not including the All Stars or Fans vs. Favorites type seasons — Survivor has now brought back nine returning players to compete alongside newbies. And only one of those nine — Stephenie Lagrossa in Survivor: Guatemala — was a woman. The rest — Bobby Jon Drinkard, Russell Hantz, Boston Rob Mariano, Ozzy Lusth, Benjamin “Coach” Wade, and now Michael Skupin, Russell Swan, and Jonathan Penner on Survivor: Philippines — have all been dudes.
What gives with the discrepancy? I went to the host himself for answers.

Hello Survivor fans! The cast for the new season, Survivor: Redemption Island, has been revealed. Well, I should say, sixteen of the eighteen players have been revealed. In addition to a couple of former NFL football players and a former Miss America contestant, two previous Survivor players will return to the game for another shot at the title of "Sole Survivor." This is not the first time Survivor has brought back former players in a non-All Star season. Bobby Jon and Stephenie form Survivor: Palau (they of the "our tribe never won an Immunity Challenge" season), were brought in to lead the tribes in Survivor: Guatemala. Similarly, two former players will be back to lead the new tribes.

For Twi-hards thinking that the names Isabella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) were randomly selected by Twilight author Stephenie Meyer think again — they both have a huge resonance in her life!
Now Magazine reports that for her dashing vampire lead, Stephenie wanted a traditional and romantic name and came up with Edward. “Edward was a perfect choice as it belongs to two great literary romantic heroes, Mr. Rochester in Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre and Mr. Ferrars in Jane Austen’s Sense And Sensibility.”
As for Isabella, Stephenie felt she loved the character like a daughter and decided to name her after … her daughter!
The Volturri are named after the latin word for vulture, a nod to the fact that unlike the Cullen family, this group feeds on humans.

A rumor has surfaced that suggests season 22 of Survivor will be a face-off between Russell Hantz and Rob Mariano, perhaps akin to Stephenie and Bobby Jon's return for Survivor Guatemala. And recently, first-season winner Richard Hatch has said he'll return to compete soon, while Ben "Coach" Wade said he was going to Nicaragua. First, while bringing Russell and Rob back is an awful, horrific idea--next spring is way too soon for either man to...

It had a chance of becoming one of the great "Survivor" ironic twists: In the show's second season, Colby Donaldson had one of the classic complete "Survivor" performances, combining psychical domination with universal likability and remaining so true to his word that he essentially handed the million dollars to Tina Wesson. In "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains," on the other hand, Colby looked tired and apathetic. He made an early alliance with Tom Westman and Stephenie Lagrossa, but watched his friends get picked off one after another. Not only was he failing in challenges, but he was so weak that somehow...

Colby Donaldson was the last Hero left standing on "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains."
He talks to Zap2it about his lack of enthusiasm this time around, how the game has changed and how classless he thought the Dumbest Move in "Survivor" History award was.
What made you want to do Survivor again?
Good question. It is a game that I fell in love with 10 years ago. I really did. I hold a lot of nostalgia for it. When the call came in, I was stoked. I was so excited. I immediately responded with yes. Unfortunately, I just didn't have a great experience.
It really seemed like this time around your heart wasn't in it. Is that a fair assessment?
[My heart was in it] in the beginning. It was tough for me when Stephenie and Tom got voted out, not just because they were my alliance and I really like them as players and people,...

"Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" wraps up its season with a two-hour finale on Sunday, May 16, followed by a reunion show on which we will discover who won the $1 million prize. Following Thursday night's Tribal Council, we do know that person will not be fan favorite Rupert Boneham, who was ousted in a four-to-two vote. Et: At the beginning of the season, several of the Heroes, yourself included, seemed more like Villains than Heroes. There was some attitude in the tribe. What was going on with that? Rupert Boneham: Just like my daughter said to me about the first darn episodes, "Dada, you looked a little mad." I have to say, breaking my toe in the first hour of the first day had me a little off kilter. We did not find out until I got voted out of the game, it wasn't just one bone in one toe. It...

After suffering what turned out to be a torn anterior cruciate ligament in last week's reward challenge on Survivor, James Clement seemed like a dead man walking. With four immunity-challenge losses to the Villains tribe, the last thing the Heroes needed was to keep an injured player. However, thanks to his strong alliance within the tribe, James was saved and Tom Westman was eliminated. Unfortunately, even after Colby Donaldson made a speech to the Heroes tribe about his impending exit, James was the one voted out because of his knee injury. The 32-year-old Clement spoke with TVGuide.com about Colby's lackadaisical attitude, his argument with Stephenie Lagrossa and who he thinks is the "Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of Survivor."

Voted out after Villain Tyson Apostal on this week's Survivor double elimination, former Hero (and fan favorite?) James Clement was one again removed from the game under difficult circumstances.
In an exit interview with Entertainment Weekly James talks about how another injury impacted his early exit from the show and why he's not really as angry as the show made him out to be.
On which was the worst way to have his Survivor run end: with a double immunity idol blind side, a finger injury and now a knee injury: Probably the first time, because I had control but I just wasn’t paying attention. I loved the game of Survivor and had always watched the game of Survivor, so I kinda knew having two idols was a bad thing. The finger was just craziness — it was a precaution. And the knee thing, I was playing the game and doing the best I could.

After losing the "Hero Olympics" race against a backwards-running J.T., it was curtains for James Clement. The (former?) fan favorite had a controversial run on Survivor: Heroes vs Villains, getting into wars of words with Stephenie, Tom, and Colby, as well as tossing a bag at 50-year-old Randy after a challenge. Now, after being voted off due to his leg injury, James talks about why he does not owe Stephenie an apology, the reason his mom is so upset with the editing, and which of his three unceremonious Survivor exits hurts the most. "Survivor: Palau" fan favorite and winner Tom Westman didn't fare as well on "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains." A member of the "Heroes" team, which has lost four out of five Immunity Challenges this season, he was sacrificed at this week's Tribal Council. Tom was eliminated with five out of seven votes cast against him, despite the fact that James Clement had blown out his knee during the Reward Challenge and is playing the game injured. Et: You managed to stay one week longer than the tribe wanted, thanks to the Immunity Idol. Did you really have any hope this week that the tribe would vote for someone else to leave? Tom Westman: I did. I was fighting. That noose kept getting thrown around my neck and I kept slipping out of it. I hoped I was going to pull something off. I needed Jt to make that swing and come over.

The Heroes tribe continued their long painful descent into the abyss on the most recent episode of Survivor. First they lost a player to injury, then they lost two more challenges, and then they lost their freakin' minds! Even though James hurt his leg so badly that he was basically immobile, the tribe deemed him more valuable in challenges than one of the show's all-time dominant challenge performers, Tom Westman, voting out the fireman and Palau champ. I spoke to Tom this morning about how it all went wrong, and the ousted contestant pulled no punches in his assessment of his tribemates.

What made you want to do Survivor again?
Originally it was very easy to say no. I said no to "Fans vs. Favorites" and I said no to this initially. My wife, who was responsible for sending me out the first time, she started working on me -- "I'm afraid you'll regret it, the opportunity's not going to come around again." It's such a fun game. Just to get out and play against these people, it was an opportunity that was tough to say no to.
Were you excited to be a Hero? And then were you disappointed by the Heroes tribe?
You know, I didn't put too much stock in that labeling. If anything, I kind of cringed because you know some of these idiots are...

What? Survivor again? All I care about is how feral Claire turned into Rousseau, becoming Clouseau. Oh well, it's a dirty job, especially this week, but someone has to do it, and I am definitely someone. Back at Camp Likeable, returning from an acrimonious Tribal Council, Tom, who had seen in the vote that he had overplayed an empty hand, when the tribe voted to oust Stephenie, immediately changed his tune and started making nice to James. We heard the sweet, sweet sound of Tom osculating James's butt, right where he'd bitten it earlier that evening. Have you seen James's butt? Very kissable. Meanwhile Jt, who had only had an alliance with Tom, and also had only had an alliance with James, had to make nice to Tom about his leaving Tom swinging in the breeze. After giving itself a nice long mud bath, Survivor: Heroes vs Villains claimed its third victim Thursday night, and the choice was far from a surprising one. 50-year-old Randy Bailey claimed before the game that he was in it to win it, but truthfully, he never stood a chance. Hello fellow Survivor fans! My name is Michael Salerno and I will be offering some recaps of the granddaddy of all reality shows for the remainder of the season. I truly am a fanatic of the show, owning not only a Survivor buff, the Survivor board game, and a Survivor Christmas ornament, but have applied to the show more than a couple times (here's just one of my audition videos, from last year). Enough about me though…let's take a look at what happened last night on….Survivor!
The third episode of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains opens at the Heroes camp post-Tribal Council. James is still angry about what happened during Tribal so Tom, out of probable self-preservation, tries to calm the big guy down. Also trying to make amends, Jt approaches Tom with apologies for going against Tom and voting Stephenie out. Jt realized he was at the bottom...

Previously On… Survivor When last I left you…James appeared to be in the beginning stages of losing his mind. Last week's tribal council ended with the very ugly and unnecessary comment from James to Stephenie: "Shut your mouth." Ah, so lovely. Look, I've been a big fan of James from day one. Stephenie Lagrossa has competed on Survivor three times now. She's lost 80% of the tribal immunity challenges that she's ever competed in. Her record in Reward Challenges is pretty awful too. Simply put, Stephenie Lagrossa seems to lose no matter who else is on her tribe.
Last Thursday night James started a witch hunt against Stephenie. It was crass, unfair and hard to watch. But it did raise an interesting question. No matter how likable she may be, do wins bounce off of Stephenie like bullets off Superman's chest? I asked Stephenie how she explained the stats, and she answered. I'm not sure that I buy the airtight logic of her defense, but hey, Stephenie, we love you anyway, even if you are a 'loser.'...

Last night, Stephenie Lagrossa became the second castway on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains to have her torch extinguished.
And while we'd love to talk about the genius that is Boston Rob at length, it's only right to give Lagrossa a few parting words. She spoke to TV Guide soon after her exit from the show:
On James' post-challenge reaction: He was yelling the whole challenge at everyone, so the moment we lost, he was cursing and looking right at me. I got defensive. It wasn't just me talking... He just lost his stuff... Yes, I was talking during the challenge. We all were.
On her lack of connections: I just didn't have enough numbers. And [J.T., Amanda, Rupert and James] are really close with people on the other side so if they get to the merge, they've got that going for them. So really all I knew was Tom. I never even met Colby before,...

It took only two episodes of "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" for the Villains to begin to look confident and heroic and for the Heroes to become fractured, verbally abusive and just a little villainous. In Thursday's (Feb. 18) episode, things became so heated between James and Stephenie that all-time good guys Colby and Tom nearly came to blows with the Mississippi gravedigger to protect Stephenie's honor. Of course, as any "Survivor" fan knows, Stephanie Lagrossa doesn't need help standing up for herself. After two brutal immunity challenges loses and two dramatic tribal councils, the heroes of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains are beginning to look less, well, heroic. Was it Fourth of July yesterday? Because Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains certainly had plenty of fireworks! And now the unlucky recipient of a James meltdown/tongue-lashing is ready to give her side of the story. Stephenie Lagrossa may have been the second one voted out this season, but she says she's happy that she can still hold her head high about the way she played and the way she went out. But she's still not too high on former tribemate James, who berated her at the challenge, back at camp, and at Tribal Council for not following directions during the immunity competition.

Stephenie Lagrossa, a huge fan favorite, was voted out second on "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains." Find out what she has to say about James and the rest of the Heroes tribe.
What were you doing between your last "Survivor" appearance and "Heroes vs. Villains?"
After I did "Survivor," I did a lot of things with TV and did a lot of hosting and did a lot of stuff with fitness and hair products and swimsuits, but I decided I needed something a little more substantial so I opened that restaurant with my brother in Philadelphia called Gigi restaurant and lounge. Then I met Kyle Kendrick [Ed. note: a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies] and we got engaged last July and we are planning our wedding this November in Napa Valley. But like a lot of people, I'm trying to run a business in this struggling economy.
