It has been formed by Scotland-based producers Reece Cargan, founder of Bombito, and James Heath, managing director of commrcials outfit Mtp, where he will remain as exec producer for commercials work.

According to Netflix, Spry Fox’s approach to game development and success will help to accelerate the creative development in another genre and will add more games to the growing variety of the platform’s games catalog.

An award winner at 2022's Glasgow Short Film Festival, The Bayview is (in the Jury's words) "a gentle portrayal of a tight community," and an example of the kind of "rural community often overlooked in nation building." Yet it's more than that. In a polyglot and multinational corner of Scotland, The Bayview Hotel is home to a community of international fishermen and more. They're from all corners: Tahiti, Tonga, Ghana, Macduff.
It's in many languages, from Fante to Doric. There's wisdom in the sense that "sometimes being a grump is very good" and much more in terms of how people and place mix. From a camera fixed on carrier bags to the delicate politics of food for the boats, Daniel Cook's film has leveraged a level of access into an astonishing portrait. It's one where the camera less becomes a fly on the wall than a sleeping dog in front.

Rectify Season 1, Episode 4 ‘Plato’s Cave’
Directed by Jim McKay
Written by Graham Gordy & Michael D. Fuller
Airs Monday nights at 9pm Et on Sundance
I’ve always been fascinated by the ideas behind Plato’s Allegory of the Cave – so when I saw the title of tonight’s episode, I was obviously drooling with excitement. And, boy, did ‘Plato’s Cave’ not disappoint: it certainly fits the quiet, character-based model of previous episodes, but focuses intently on this exploration of faith versus reason, giving life to the mental and spiritual struggle Daniel Holden’s currently going through.
I don’t want to spend 10,000 words getting into Plato’s allegory (there’s a really well-organized Wikipedia article here for detailed info), but the foundation of it is fairly simple. In it, Plato presents a simple situation: a group of people are chained to stand facing a wall for their entire lives,...
