Mary Lee Hannington
- Production Designer
- Art Director
- Art Department
A Michigan State University graduate with degrees in Fine Art and
Photography, Mary Hannington has been an illustrious presence in the
film and television industries since the early 1990s. Her set designs
for Cable Ace-winning Showtime comedy specials "Men Are Pigs" and "Tim
Allen Rewires America" are still considered the best looking of their
genre. After going on to design opening titles for ABC sitcom "Home
Improvement," and serving as Production Designer on music videos for
Rhythm Corps and Joe Walsh, Mary founded Rivet Films, noted producers
and designers of high-end visual effects. It was here that Mary
established herself as one of the leading female commercial directors
of her generation. In addition to the credits listed here, Mary was
Production Designer on "Le Detroit," a film installation by Canadian
multimedia artist Stan Douglas; a work shown worldwide to great
acclaim, having screened at the Centre George Pompidou in Paris, the
Kunsthalle in Basel, Switzerland, and the Tate Modern in London. Mary
is also Creative Director of Branded, a boutique creative services
company based in Detroit, and works as a freelance Production Designer
in feature films.
