The TV academy has honored voice-only performances since 1992, when six cast members from “The Simpsons” collectively became the first actors to receive Emmys for such work. The Best Voice-Over Performance category became an official non-juried one in 2009 and was then split into two categories in 2014: Best Character Voice-Over and Best Narrator. Harry Shearer (“The Simpsons”) was the former category’s first champion, having been nominated once before for the same series.
The 2023 Best Character Voice-Over ballot consists of 148 performances, which is down by 74 from last year. Seeking her third victory is Maya Rudolph, who plays Connie the Hormone Monstress on “Big Mouth.” Also in the mix are former winners Shearer, Hank Azaria (“The Simpsons”), Alex Borstein (“Family Guy”), and Seth MacFarlane (“Family Guy”).

Former Rectify star Aden Young and True Blood alum Sam Trammell are set to headline Reckoning, a 10-episode straight-to-series psychological thriller drama, from writer David Hubbard (Noel), veteran showrunner David Eick (Falling Skies) and Sony Pictures Television Networks.
Rounding out the ensemble cast are Simone Kessell, Laura Gordon, Gloria Garayua Mitzi Ruhlmann, Milly Alcock, Ed Oxenbould, Finn Little, Anthony Phelan and Diana Glenn.
Produced by Sony Pictures TV-owned Australian company Playmaker (The Code), Reckoning began production this week in Sydney for premiere next year on Sptn’s international channels, including Axn, in select territories in Europe and Latin America. The Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, California was invaded by the cast of "Mother and Child" on Monday, April 19. That night, Sony Pictures Classics held a premiere for the movie and a number of top notch celebrities were seen gracing the red carpet.
Annette Bening who takes one of the lead roles in the film was seen coming hand-in-hand with actor husband Warren Beatty. Her co-star Samuel L. Jackson was also not alone that night as he was accompanied by wife Latanya Richardson.
Another lead actress Kerry Washington was later seen hitting the red carpet, followed by other cast members such as Brittany Robertson, Gloria Garayua, Tatyana Ali and Marc Blucas. Moreover, director Rodrigo Garcia also did not miss the event.
Meanwhile, Naomi Watts who lands a key role and stars opposite Jackson in the film was not captured by cameras at the premiere. Though so, the special screening was...

In case any of you missed it, ABC started launching a Grey's Anatomy webisode series on November 19th. The series is meant star a few of the ancillary characters in the Grey's universe (primarily the interns) and while it is intended to run parallel to the show's regular episodes, it will also provide more in-depth information on certain individuals.

Another companion web series coming out of a major TV network today as ABC launches its Grey's Anatomy companion Seattle Grace: On Call. It premiered tonight 10:00 Pm Et, immediately following the latest episode of Grey's, which featured promo for the new sidekick. It's a faux documentary, set at Joe's Emerald City Bar where seemingly all of the Seattle Grace surgeons frequent to booze it up and make bad decisions. A handful of the lesser known stars from the TV version will appear in the 4-minute episodes, like Joe the Bartender Steven W. Bailey and Sg interns Brandon Scott and Gloria Garayua.
