Home and Away legend Ray Meagher has dismissed the row surrounding an episode of the soap that was deemed "too raunchy" for New Zealand television. Last month, the Summer Bay show was rapped by the country's Broadcasting Standards Authority, which upheld a complaint made about a sexy scene featuring Martha MacKenzie (Jodi Gordon) and Liam Murphy (Axle Whitehead). The moment in question saw the pair kissing passionately, before Martha removed her bathrobe and showed her bra. However, responding to the controversy, Meagher insisted that he cannot understand what all the fuss was about. The 66-year-old - who plays Alf Stewart - told Holy Soap: "From how the scene is described, it sounds fairly tame, and I'd far prefer (more)...

Australian actress Jodi Gordon has defended soap opera Home And Away after a sexy episode was ruled "too raunchy" by officials at New Zealand's broadcasting watchdog.
In a March installment of the show two characters, Liam and Martha - played by Axle Whitehead and Gordon - were seen kissing passionately as he removed her bathrobe, showing her bra.
It provoked outrage from some viewers, who complained to chiefs at the Broadcasting Standards Authority - and earlier this week (begs20Sep10), the watchdog ruled the scene was inappropriate for its "general viewing" classification and 5.30pm timeslot.
They added that the episode was "sexually charged" and "did not observe standards of good taste and decency".
Home and Away bosses have avoided a penalty as it's the first time a complaint has been upheld against the show - but Gordon has brushed off the controversy.
Speaking on The Kyle & Jackie O radio show, she says, "You know what, Home and Away create the best story lines and are so tasteful in everything they do, and when I saw that (story) on the internet the other day I thought, 'That's so strange'."...

Sydney, Sept 20 – A steamy scene in Australian soap opera ‘Home and Away’ has been ruled as being too “raunchy and sexually charged” for New Zealand by an industry watchdog.
The Broadcasting Standards Authority found the scene, featuring adult characters Martha and Liam in an episode that aired on March 24, breached broadcasting standards, as it has a G rating and airs at 5.30pm.
In the scene, Liam, played by Axle Whitehead, and Martha, played by Jodi Gordon, were filmed kissing as he took off her bathrobe, leaving her dressed in only her bra and pyjama bottoms.
He then leans back on a table as she straddles him before being interrupted by another character.

Australian actor Lincoln Lewis has come to the defence of scandal-ridden soap opera Home And Away, dismissing rumours the young cast is plagued by drug problems.
The popular show has been mired in controversy in recent months following a string of highly publicised scandals involving its stars.
Actress Jodi Gordon, 24, was reported missing by friends after a night out in Sydney last summer, and was later found by police at the home of a suspected drug dealer. The star admitted "cocaine had been consumed" when she was questioned by cops.
Her co-star Todd Lasance was caught up in a police raid at a Sydney nightclub during the show's Christmas party in December. He was found in possession of cocaine and pleaded guilty to a drug possession charge last month.
And Lewis also found himself in trouble when he was embroiled in a sex scandal - admitting he filmed an intimate encounter with an unnamed Australian television star and showed the footage to his fellow cast members and crew.
But the 22 year old, who is set to leave the TV series this year, insists rumours of persistent problems onset are just not true.
He says, "It's absolutely nothing like that. It's unbelievable how c**p that is."
Lewis credits bosses on the show for helping him through his crisis, adding: "I had the publicity team call several times a day to make sure I was all right. I had Channel 7's support. Friends and family - always there. And it was because of them that I was able to handle it. I have learnt my lesson in terms of waking up. You learn from your mistakes, that's just part of growing up."...
