"Back to the Future" and "Caroline in the City" star Lea Thompson has signed on to star in "My Mother's Future Husband," a television movie for Up Television. Toronto -- Kelly Rowan ("The O.C.") is to star in a series of TV mystery movies from indie co-producers Breakthrough Entertainment, Salient Point Prods. and Colossal Entertainment.
The "Rebecca Kane" wheel of mystery telefilms, created and written by Los Angeles-based Donald Martin, will feature Rowan as a secretary/sleuth to the chief of police in a sleepy fishing town.
The deal was unveiled at Mipcom by Marina Cordoni, executive producer of movies at Breakthrough.
Colossal Entertainment’s Graham Ludlow is producing the TV mystery movies, now in development.
Salient Point and Colossal Entertainment in 2007 collaborated on an earlier Kelly Rowan-starring TV movie, “In God’s Country,” this time with third partner Shaftesbury Films and for Canadian broadcaster CTV.
Other Canadian deals unveiled at Mipcom include FremantleMedia Enterprises picking up the international distribution and licensing rights to the live-action series "My Babysitter's A Vampire" from indie producer Fresh TV,...
