Attorney and president of the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), a non-profit human rights litigation organization based in New York City.
He clerked for federal Judge Constance Baker Motley.
Served as President of the National Lawyers Guild.
His younger brother is Bruce Ratner, a billionaire real estate developer.
Wrote "Moving The Bar: My Life As A Radical Lawyer" which was published posthumously in 2021 by O/R Books.
While attending Columbia University Law School he worked for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
