- Mother, with husband Chris Bro, of son Zack Bro (b. November 12, 2002), and daughter Abigail Keller Bro (b. September 5, 2005).
- Joined ABC in 2003 as Good Morning America (1975)'s White House reporter before she was tapped to co-host Good Morning America Weekend Edition (1993) from 2004 to 2010.
- Left ABC in 2010 to become a correspondent for NBC's newsmagazine Dateline NBC (1992). In addition, she has also filled in as anchor for NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt (1970).
- Joined the Central New Mexico branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America in 1996. She was a National Board Member for 10 years and received the Charles G. Berwind Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. She became a member of the New York City branch's Board of Trustees in August 1, 2017.
- Graduated from Cornell University, in Ithaca, New York, with a Bachelor's degree in Communication in 1991. While there, she was a member of the sorority Kappa Alpha Theta and was a newscaster on the student-run radio station WVBR-FM. She graduated from Georgetown University, in Washington, D.C., with a Master of Science degree in Foreign Studies in 1993.
- Daughter of noted anthropologist and Iroquoian Dean R. Snow, Professor at Pennsylvania State University.
- Her younger sister, Barbara, lives in Portland, Oregon.
- Native of Burnt Hills, Saratoga County, New York.
- A member of Cornell University's Department of Communication Advisory Board. She is on a sabbatical from the board (January 2018).
