An untitled documentary about Grammy-winning artist Lizzo is coming to HBO Max this fall, she announced at the Warner Bros. Discovery upfront on Wednesday, while unveiling the first teaser of the film. From ‘Cuz I Love You’ to my dramatic world tour, losing and gaining love, and creating my new album ‘Special,’ y’all get to see the amount of time, patience, blood, sweat and tears that went into this process.

‘Top Chef’ judge Tom Colicchio gets crabby in the most delicious way on ‘What Would Tom Do?’ [Watch]
Nilou Motamed, the sassy sidekick to Tom Colicchio on his “Top Chef” after-show “What Would Tom Do?” causes the head judge of Bravo’s popular cooking show to exclaim, “I’ve got butter fingers!” Indeed, he does as he breaks up sticks of butter while whisking away in a pot. It seems Nilou is drinking a bit earlier than usual in this episode. Her choice of beverage is sake as befits the theme of what Tom is cooking up as she says, “Kanpai!” — which means “Cheers!” in Japanese.
Nilou says, “For this challenge, the chefs took a flavor trip to the Far East.” They celebrated both Japanese traditions as well as the now-postponed Olympic Games in Tokyo by taking on one dish in a six-course progressive Kaiseki meal. “They all went to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum,” Nilou adds. “It was all about seasonality, incredible produce and letting ingredients be in balance and in harmony.

The latest episode of the “Top Chef” after-show “What Would Tom Do?” begins with the head judge’s sidekick and Season 16 judge Nilou Motamed asking Tom Colicchio what his preference is when cooking with wine. He answers, “Just a dry wine.” Nilou takes a swig of the bottle that she just opened as is her usual wont.
Last week’s elimination challenge on the 17th season of Bravo’s reality cooking show was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the L.A. Philharmonic during which the 10 remaining chefs paired up and tried to create one dish that blended some combination of sweet, sour, bitter, salty and umami.
Tom says, “I thought this was a great challenge. Chefs were really, really creative and they really highlight the flavors that they chose and they ended up with some really inspired and delicious dishes.” He adds that, “This is a moment when you can be experimental,...

Fans of the reality cooking show “Top Chef” know when a new episode is over, they can go to the Bravo site and watch the web-only “Last Chance Kitchen,” where eliminated contestants can try to battle back into the competition by defeating other dismissed players each week.
But now they have added another component of the “Top Chef” experience with an after-show aperitif, if you will, served by head judge Tom Colicchio. A five-time recipient of the James Beard Foundation Award who has been on the show since it began in 2006, he usually delivers the most spot-on criticisms as well as sincere compliments while sampling the dishes that are put in front of him. This no-nonsense guy and his taste buds are almost always right. But while we often get to see Tom eating, we rarely if ever see this culinary superstar behind a stove.

Last week on “Top Chef” Season 16, Midwestern contestant Kevin Scharpf was the one who heard those unappetizing final words, “Please pack your knives and go” after his oddly salty yuletide dessert got him booted. But he managed to squeak by during the online “Last Chance Kitchen” challenge that required him, Natalie Maronski (in her second round on the after-show) and Season 15 returnees Brother Luck and Carrie Baird to make a Christmas morning breakfast. Alas, Baird decided to do a version of the “fancy toast” similar to what got her a win in the past. Too bad Tom Colicchio was not impressed with the results this time.

Somehow I missed the fact that a new “Top Chef” season – No. 16, to be exact — premiered two weeks ago. Thank goodness, my DVR remembered for me. While “The Great British Baking Show” has taken over the Bravo staple’s prime seat at the dining table of my heart when it became available on these shores, “Top Chef” is a close second in fulfilling what I crave in a cooking competition show.
The Food Network’s pantry of watching options continues to entice me. But they rarely fully satisfy my appetite. “Iron Chef America” is too beholden to a ticking clock and, like many food-related contests, is contained in a single space. I like the chef judges on “Chopped,” especially Alex Guarnascelli, but the format only occasionally allows for surprises and twists. I can tell the minute someone puts a crispy fish fillet atop a moist ingredient or pours on sesame...
