9-1-1 is adding a face from Bobby’s (Peter Krause) past for the second half of Season 7.
According to Deadline, Malcolm-Jamal Warner has landed a four-episode arc as Amir.
Amir is a nurse in a hospital’s burn unit with a surprising connection to Bobby.
Details about how the pair come into contact have not been disclosed, but given that we know Amir’s profession, there’s a good chance it will result from a character winding up in that unit.
If Amir’s tie is to Bobby, we expect it to be someone from the 118.
Let’s hope it isn’t Buck (Oliver Stark). He needs a break after his brush with death after being struck by lightning.
Could Malcolm Jamal-Warner become a new series regular?
It’s unclear whether the four episodes could become something more because 9-1-1 has already earned a Season 8 renewal at ABC.

The Senate is expected to vote on a proposal that would prevent ByteDance from operating TikTok in the United States, but before it does, it may air its findings in public. Several Senators, including Maria Cantwell (D-wa) and Mark Warner (D-va), have suggested that U.S. legislators should hold a hearing to discuss the threat TikTok poses to American consumers.
The proposed ban would be enforced through a bill co-authored by Congressmen Mike Gallagher (R-Wi) and Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-il). Beijing-based ByteDance could avoid a U.S. ban by divesting TikTok so that the app’s parent company would no longer possess ties to a “foreign adversary” like China. When Gallagher and Krishnamoorthi’s bill passed in the House of Representatives, the Department of Justice indicated that it would prefer to push for a divestiture rather than an outright TikTok ban.
One of the biggest issues the bill faces is the general public.

After the failure that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League meant for WB Games and Rocksteady, the studio has a lot of content prepared to revive the game, including new playable characters.
Thanks to an interview with Jp Karliak, the voice from the Joker that will be the first added character of the game, we have some information about why Warner is not putting Mark Hamill as the Joker in current projects. Apparently, Warner didn’t want any voice close to another version of the Joker, including Hamill. This is a new and fresh version of the character.

Up until recently I worked the night shift in a hotel, so I know how creepy it can feel at times, especially when you’re getting used to the place with all of the building’s odd little noises and quirks. That’s the position Gwen finds herself in.
Recently moved into the area and in need of money, she’s answered an ad for a temporary overnight position at the All Tucked Inn. The owner Teddy, who seems to be making his story up as he goes along, tells her the woman who regularly does the job has been sidelined with medical issues. He’d love to stay and help, but he has a date. But there’s nothing to worry about, this is a quiet, peaceful place where nothing ever happens.

Cass Warner, filmmaker, author and granddaughter of Harry Warner, co-founder of Warner Bros., has died. She was 76.
Her death was announced by her son and Yellowstone actor Cole Hauser on his Instagram page. “Her kindness, love, humor and amazing spirit will be missed by not only my family but the world. You have touched so many,” he wrote.
Cass’ grandfather, Harry Warner, was the eldest Warner brother, a Polish immigrant who co-founded the studio in 1923 after jumping into the early days of movie mania in 1905 with brothers Sam, Albert and Jack. The foursome created a cinematic powerhouse, a dream factory that was the social conscience of Hollywood, one that churned out timely and topical films about the Great Depression, the rise of fascism, the Red Scare and more.
Harry’s daughter, Betty Warner Sheinbaum, wrote of her father as “a very serious man. He was the company’s conscience and driving force.

Marilyn Manson’s penalty for pursuing failed defamation and emotional distress allegations against Westworld actress Evan Rachel Wood and artist Illma Gore has ballooned to nearly half a million dollars.
The hefty legal tab first hit six figures back on Jan. 29, when a Los Angeles judge ordered Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, to pay $326,956 for the fees Wood racked up defending against the claims struck last May from Warner’s still-pending lawsuit against the two women. Taylor Swift’s name is no longer drawing up a blank space on X/Twitter.
Searches for the singer’s name were disabled over the weekend, following an excess of pornographic AI nudes of her flooding the social media platform, which also wiped all results for “Taylor Swift nude” or “Taylor Swift AI.” Now, X has reinstated the ability to search for her name.
“Search has been re-enabled and we will continue to be vigilant for any attempt to spread this content and will remove it if we find it,” reads a statement from X, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.
The re-enabling of Swift’s name search comes on the heels of the White House weighing in on the controversy and urging Congress to “take legislative action,” Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told ABC News on Friday. “We are alarmed by the reports of the … circulation of images that you just...

Law & Order: Svu’s Tamara Tunie Takes Us Inside Her Moving Organized Crime Reunion With Chris Meloni
Medical examiner Melinda Warner was only on screen for a few minutes of Thursday’s Law & Order: Organized Crime, but the short scene carried a lot of meaning for longtime Svu fans.
Not only was Tamara Tunie’s return the first time we’ve seen onetime Svu series regular Warner since Svu‘s 500th episode, it marked a quiet moment of… dare we say friendship between the coroner and the ever-more-reflective cop? The scene also allowed Tunie and series lead Chris Meloni, who are friends in real life, a chance to mix it up in the morgue once more.

Marilyn Manson‘s former assistant, Ashley Walters, won an appeal that would bring back a dismissed sexual assault lawsuit she brought against the singer in 2021.
A tribunal with California’s Second Appellate District sided with Walters and reversed a lower court ruling, ordering that the case be sent back to the judge for trial.
According to the court filings, Walters declared that Manson had forced her hand into his underpants. She alleges that he also whipped her, pushed her into a wall and made her stay awake for 48 hours straight.
The filings claim that Manson offered Walters up sexually to associates and friends. He even instructed her to stand on a chair for 12 hours and fed her cocaine so that she would not fall asleep.
There are more accusations mentioned in the filings in addition to these.
Walters claims that Manson often relied on threatening behavior, including blackmail, to keep her quiet.

Noname’s second studio album, Sundial, synthesizes everything that the firebrand rapper, née Fatimah Warner, excels at. Tracks like “Balloons” and “Afro Futurism” feature some of the fiercest political critiques and nimbly performed rapping of Warner’s career. Her delivery is poised yet casual, her charmingly nasal voice full of weariness and vulnerability.
For all its musings about American society, geopolitics, and where Warner fits into all of it, Sundial retains a certain goofy playfulness. “Boomboom,” for one, is fun and melodic, with digressions about both eating pussy and sucking dick, some W.E.B. Du Bois puns, and a honey-sweet chorus sung by Barbadian songstress Ayoni. And Warner delightfully presents even the thorniest of verses in a hooky patter on tracks like opener “Black Mirror”: “We smokin’ positivity like dust, trust/Angels never fucked with us/Shadowbox the sun down ‘til sundown.”
Even songs without official guest verses, like “Beauty Supply,...

After Heath Ledger it was questioned whether or not we would ever even get another big-screen Joker again. Then Jared Leto came along and proved…hey maybe it isn’t so sacred after all. So enter The Hangover‘s Todd Phillips and eccentric actor, Joaquin Phoenix, both deadset on creating a character piece that would rival some of Hollywood’s best. Today on DC Revisited, we’re getting into all of the awkward laughs, Batman connections, and talk shows that end with a bang as we cover Todd Phillip’s Joker.
The idea of a standalone comic book movie isn’t exactly a new thing, with this being the norm prior to the MCU hitting it big with Iron Man. Sure you may get an odd spinoff here or there, but they hardly ever amounted to anything major. And once the MCU came along, interconnected universes became all the rage.

The Beanie Bubble is about the Beanie Baby craze of the 1990s and the drama behind the scenes. Zach Galifianakis plays Ty Warner, the founder of the toy line. Elizabeth Banks, Sarah Snook and Geraldine Viswanathan play the three women in Warner’s life who found each other, and success, in the company. Ok Go singer Damian Kulash directed with his wife, screenwriter Kristin Gore.
Kulash said he hoped people couldn’t tell where the movie’s “needle drops” of archival music ended and his original score, with Nathan Barr, began. The film includes songs by The Cure, Inxs, The Cranberries, Queen and more.

The photographer who claims Marilyn Manson caused her “fear and anxiety” when he spit and blew his nose on her at a 2019 concert in New Hampshire succeeded Thursday in bringing her civil lawsuit against the disgraced rocker back to life.
A Los Angeles judge had dismissed the assault case in February after the lawyer for plaintiff Susan Fountain failed to appear in court on the date the trial was set to begin.
The lawyer, Jennifer A. Clingo, filed paperwork in March saying she had been suffering from a serious medical issue.

Aria Mia Loberti, the breakout star of Shawn Levy’s Netflix limited series “All the Light We Cannot See,” has narrated a new audio edition of Jules Verne’s classic novel “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.”
Loberti, a writer, human rights advocate and Fulbright Scholarship recipient, made her acting debut in “All the Light We Cannot See,” an adaptation of Anthony Doerr’s beloved Pulitzer Prize-winning novel which will premiere on Netflix Thursday. In the show, Loberti plays Marie-Laure, a courageous blind teenager living in Nazi-occupied France during WWII. As an act of resilience, Marie-Laure Leblanc defies a Nazi ban on radio broadcasts and reads passages from “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea” over the radio airwaves every night.

The feature doc, The Swallows Will Return (working title), will follow the investigative work of Anya Neistat, a preeminent war crimes investigator at the foundation, as she and her team try to expose human rights violations by Russian invaders and bring the perpetrators to justice. In the sixth season of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," in a two-part episode called "Chain of Command", Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) was released from his command of the U.S.S. Enterprise so that he may engage in a top-secret mission to a planet called Celtris III. His mission was to infiltrate a secret underground facility and locate a massively dangerous biological weapon that the Cardassians were said to be developing. The mission, however, was based on tainted intelligence, and there was no weapon. Instead, Picard is captured by a sadistic and terrifying Cardassian general named Madred (David Warner) who aims to torture Picard.
Madred didn't need information from Picard, however. The aim of Madred's cool and calculated infliction of pain seemed to be to break Picard's will, to merely prove that a stalwart and loyal officer could be snapped and conditioned. In a particularly vicious game, Madred illuminates...

Earlier this week singer Marilyn Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, reached a settlement with an ex-girlfriend who accused him of rape. The woman, identified only as “Jane Doe,” filed her suit in 2021 — the pair were set to face off in court next week. On Wednesday, Jane Doe’s attorney Adam Wolf filed a notice of settlement in Los Angeles.
Manson’s attorney Howard King commented, “Brian is pleased that, just as previous lawsuits were abandoned without payment or settled for pennies on the dollar, this plaintiff has now agreed to drop her suit in exchange for an insurance payment representing a fraction of her demands and far less than the cost to Brian of proceeding to trial.”
Doe issued her own statement to Rolling Stone and explained why she dropped the suit: “threats, bullying, harassment and various forms of intimidation that have intensified over the past few weeks.

Marilyn Manson has settled a lawsuit that was set to go to trial next week, in which an anonymous woman alleged that he sexually assaulted her in 2011, when she was underage, and then threatened to murder her family if she told anyone.
In the suit against Brian Warner (Manson’s real name), the accuser — identified as Jane Doe – claimed that the shock-rocker raped her on his tour bus.
“Warner performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct upon Plaintiff (Jane Doe), who was a virgin at the time, including but not limited to forced copulation and vaginal penetration,” alleged the suit, filed in 2021.

Los Angeles, Aug 28 (Ians) Veteran Hollywood star Julie Andrews was disappointed when British star and icon Audrey Hepburn was cast as Eliza in the classic ‘My Fair Lady’.
Although Andrews had received rave reviews for the role on stage, Warner Bros’ Jack Warner opted to cast Audrey in the lead for the feature film, reports aceshowbiz.com.
“Though I totally understood why Audrey had been chosen for the role (I’d never made a movie and was a relative unknown compared to her worldwide fame), I felt sad that I would never have the chance to put my version of Eliza on film,” Andrews told US Closer magazine.
However, Andrews had her revenge when she went on to win an Oscar and Golden Globe for ‘Mary Poppins’ and took a cheeky dig at Warner during her acceptance speech for the Globes.

Hobart, Aug 26 (Ians) Former Australia Test skipper Tim Paine revealed the team management is considering to move David Warner from his usual opening position to down the order ahead of Odi World Cup, happening in India from October 5 to November 19.
Warner has gone past the half-century mark in seven of his last 16 Odi innings. In Australia’s last Odi against India at Chennai, they retained the attacking opening combination of Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head.
Warner, who missed first two ODIs due to recovery from an elbow injury which ended his time in Border-Gavaskar Trophy early, came out to at number four, in order to deal with India’s left-arm spinners in Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav, and made 23 off 31 balls.
“Now that’s something I have heard. It’s going to be imperative to get off to really fast starts and right now, Travis Head and Mitch Marsh...

Brisbane, Aug 19 (Ians) Australia’s veteran opener Usman Khawaja said he will aim to continue playing Test cricket for a long time if he continues to tick three crucial boxes with the side. Khawaja scored 496 runs in the recently-concluded Ashes 2023, being the highest run-scorer of the series, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
The next Ashes series will be held in Australia in 2025-26. “In 2025…one series at a time I go with. You can get ahead of yourself and look to that time (in 2025) and think, ‘I can probably get there’, but I don’t want to (do that).”
“I like playing one summer at a time and seeing how the body is going, how the mind is going and whether I am enjoying it. It is those three things. I am ticking those three boxes at the moment so I will keep playing,” Khawaja was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.

L.A.-via-Chicago rap poet Fatimah Nayeema Warner took off with her 2015 mixtape Telefone and her 2018 album Room 25, with a rude-girl wit all her own. As she famously boasted, “My pussy wrote a thesis on colonialism.” It’s been a long wait, but Sundial is exactly what you were praying the new Noname album would be—eloquent, furious, funny, cerebral, bristling with rage and revenge. Warner’s got a voice you can’t mistake for anyone else. And yes, she definitely showed up in a mood to talk some shit.

London, Aug 1 (Ians) Australia opener Usman Khawaja has questioned the change of the ball during the second innings in the fifth and final Test of the Ashes 2023 series at The Oval after which England went on to win the match and level the series.
Though Australia retained the Ashes urn despite the 2-2 draw in the five-match series, Pat Cummins’ team was unhappy because of the ball change, which they feel was not done properly and a ball that looks ‘newer’ than the old one and resulted in England prising out Australian batsmen to trigger a collapse.
Two deliveries after a Mark Wood bouncer clattered into his helmet with such force that it knocked the ball out of shape, Khawaja was the first Australian batter to express his concern regarding the ball, walking up to umpire Kumar Dharamsena to claim that the replacement was offering significantly more movement than the Old one.

If you’re in the market for Cross of Iron on 4K Blu-ray, you won’t need much exposition from me. You know that it is a bleak story of rank, class and grinding warfare during the German retreat of 1943. What you don’t know is whether Studiocanal has managed a quality 4K transfer. Or rather Silver Salt Restoration, the specialist firm Studiocanal hired to scan, nip and tuck Sam Peckinpah’s film from 1977.
The short answer is yes, and it has awakened the physical media evangelist in me. I’m no stranger to this stuff. I own many pounds and stones of DVDs, Blu-rays and 4K Uhd

Ashes 2023: Stuart Broad gets winning send-off as England beat Australia by 49 runs; draw series 2-2
London, July 31 (Ians) Veteran fast-bowler Stuart Broad got his perfect fairytale ending to a glorious cricketing career by picking the last two wickets as England beat Australia by 49 runs in the fifth and final Ashes Test at The Oval on Monday to level an enthralling series 2-2.
Resuming from 135 for no loss, Australia were going great guns with all ten wickets in hand, before a ball change in the 37th over took their top three batters out. Steve Smith and Travis Head led Australia’s recovery before the rain came in.
After the two-hour rain break ended, Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali blew Australia away as four wickets fell for only 11 runs. Todd Murphy and Alex Carey frustrated England for a brief period as Australia went from 264 for three to 294 for 8.

London, July 31 (Ians) Former England captain Nasser Hussain has stated that the hosts are “slight favourites” to win the fifth and decisive Ashes 2023 Test against Australia as the pitch will offer a turn on Day 5 at The Oval which will aid Ben Stokes’ side to level the series 2-2.
The lashing rain in London on Sunday forced the umpires to call stumps early on Day 4, with Australia closing the day four on 135 for no loss, still 249 runs away from taking the Ashes 3-1 and England needing 10 wickets to level the series.
“My feeling is that England are still slight favourites, even after Australia’s start. The pitch is spinning and a day-five Oval pitch does turn,” Hussain told Sky Sports.
He further added the rain has provided Moeen Ali with some additional time to recover from his groin strain, indicating that off-spinner’s recovery might play a crucial role on...

When the Beanie Baby craze reached its apex in the late Nineties, around the time desperate suburbanites were shelling out small fortunes for the purple Princess Diana bear on eBay and ransacking shopping malls whenever rumors hit that a new shipment had arrived, screenwriter Kristin Gore and Ok Go frontman Damian Kulash were barely aware it was even happening. “We were in college,” Gore says. “We were too old to be collectors. This summer, “Barbie” has revived the box office, making nearly $500 million worldwide in its first week. Earlier this year, “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” surpassed the billion-dollar mark. If those two success are any indication, it seems that nostalgia sells — particularly nostalgia for classic toys and characters to which moviegoers have a personal connection.
“The Beanie Bubble” (streaming Friday on Apple TV+) centers around the Beanie Baby craze of the ’90s. But the movie is not really about Beanie Babies.
Based on the book “The Great Beanie Baby Bubble: Mass Delusion and the Dark Side of Cute” by author Zac Bissonnette, the film is the feature directorial debut for co-directors and real-life married couple, musician Damian Kulash and Kristin Gore, who wrote the screenplay. Apple TV+’s new comedy-drama movie The Beanie Bubble is a decent watch if you’re curious about how the Beanie Babies craze emerged, and how it all eventually came crashing down. The film has been adapted from the 2015 book The Great Beanie Baby Bubble: Mass Delusion and the Dark Side of Cute by Zac Bissonnette, which goes into much more detail about the rise and fall of American billionaire toy manufacturer Ty Warner, but who are the other real people behind the characters? And what happened to Ty Warner after his tax evasion conviction?
Maya (Geraldine Viswanathan)
Maya is based on real-life entrepreneur Lina Triveldi, who indeed helped Ty Warner to become a billionaire through his Beanie Babies enterprise online. Triveldi’s computer skills were shaped by her parents, who bought her an Ibm PC and manuals at a young age. She then went to DePaul University and majored in Sociology,...

New Delhi, July 28 (Ians) Former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting was left fuming after being pelted by grapes on live television when he was on his broadcasting duties at the end of Day 1 of the fifth Ashes Test at the Oval.
The incident happened at the conclusion of Day One when Ponting was discussing some points of the day’s play. He was struck by a series of fruity missiles and several grapes were seen near his shoes on the turf.
After the Sky Sports presenter, Ian Ward wrapped an interview with Todd Murphy, pointed out to Ponting. “It looks like you’re being peppered with grapes,” Ward was quoted by the Sun.
But Ponting, who looked far from impressed, said: “I’ve just been hit by a grape. I wouldn’t mind finding out who that was actually.”

London, July 28 (Ians) Australia had a productive outing on day one of the fifth and final Ashes 2023 Test at The Oval, bowling out England for 283 before openers Usman Khawaja and David Warner made a solid start with the bat, here on Thursday.
Khawaja (26 not out) and Marnus Labuschagne (2 not out) were unbeaten at the crease, with Australia ending on 61/1 at stumps on Day 1, trailing England by 222 runs.

We spoke to the cast and directors of AppleTV+’s latest original feature film The Beanie Bubble.
Why did the world suddenly treat stuffed animals like gold? Ty Warner (Zach Galifianakis) was a frustrated toy salesman until his collaboration with three women grew his masterstroke of an idea into the biggest toy craze in history. “The Beanie Bubble” is an inventive story about what and who we value, and the unsung heroes whose names didn’t appear on the heart-shaped tag.
Galifianakis revealed to us what attracted him to Ty’s character and what he remembers about the Beanie Baby boom. The actor also tells us what he thinks the majority of most billionaire types have in common and what makes them more likely to succeed in their respective fields.
We were also delighted to chat to Elizabeth Banks – the actor who plays Robbie, one of the woman behind Warner...

London, July 26 (Ians) Veteran Australia opener David Warner has dismissed the rumours that he will retire from Test cricket after the fifth and final Ashes 2023 Test at the Oval.
Warner’s retirement speculation was fuelled when Vaughan told Fox Cricket that he had heard “whispers” during the Old Trafford Test that the final Ashes encounter would be left-hander’s last game in the red-ball format.
Notably, the 36-year-old batter last month announced his plans to retire following the three-match home series against Pakistan next summer, culminating in a home farewell for the New Year’s Test in Sydney.
He is now all set to play his final Test away from home this week when the fifth and final Test of an enthralling Ashes series takes place at The Oval from Thursday.

“No, not at all,” Warner said when asked if he had considered altering his retirement plans.

HBO Go, HBO Now, HBO Max, Max — the name may change, but the search for compelling new shows to watch remains the same. Primetimer is taking some of the guesswork out of the equation with our weekly feature To the Max, where we'll share recommendations for classic shows, underrated gems, and water-cooler series.
Beanie Babies creator Ty Warner made sure his name was literally attached to his product — the heart-shaped tag with “Ty” printed on it is part of what made the bean-stuffed animals instantly recognizable. And at the height of the Beanie Baby craze, an impeccable Ty tag made them all the more valuable. So it makes sense that Apple TV+’s The Beanie Bubble, premiering July 28, focuses on Warner (Zach Galifianakis) and his obsession with money, fame, and his own creation.

It is probably no accident that Apple has chosen this week to launch its own legendary toy biopic, The Beanie Bubble, in the shadow of Warner Bros’ about-to-be blockbuster Barbie. It can only benefit from the obvious connections and themes of female empowerment bubbling under the surface of both.
The latest in a Hollywood trend of 2023 movie releases focusing on origin stories of products, it proves there is fertile creative ground in these movies as each of them so far has much to recommend. This one, a feature directorial debut for the husband-and-wife team of Damian Kulash Jr and Kristin Gore (the latter also writing the screenplay), is a razor-sharp look at the Beanie Baby phenomenon of the 1990s, but one more interested in the relationships of the people behind it as much as the rise and fall of the lovable plush toys themselves.

Plot: Why did the world suddenly treat stuffed animals like gold? Ty Warner was a frustrated toy salesman until his collaboration with three women grew his masterstroke of an idea into the biggest toy craze in history. “The Beanie Bubble” is an inventive story about what and who we value, and the unsung heroes whose names didn’t appear on the heart-shaped tag.
Review: Everyone likely knows what a Beanie Baby is. The tiny plush toys were an insane fad in the 1990s, predating Crypto and NFTs by decades. But, unlike many fads, Beanie Babies became a lucrative financial market during the early days of the World Wide Web and marketplaces like eBay. While the crash reduced toys valued at thousands of dollars to just pennies, the toy’s creator, Ty Warner, remained a multi-millionaire. Despite a felony tax conviction, Warner remains extremely wealthy thanks to his revolutionized plush idea.
