Randall Gay was signed by the Patriots as an NFL free agent on April
29, 2004.
His rookie season concluded with a victory in Super Bowl XXXIX, in
which he started opposite Asante Samuel. He failed to make a full
contribution in 2006, due to an ankle injury that landed him on Injured
Reserve.
In 2004, He was placed into the starting lineup because of injuries to
veterans Ty Law and Tyrone Poole.
Picked up once again by The New England Patriots and is
a starter on a banged up secondary.
