Well, Brellies, I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that we are unfortunately on the precipice of the fourth and final season of Netflix's adaption of "The Umbrella Academy." It's bad news because as much as we wish this show and all of the adventures of the Hargreeves Siblings would last forever, Netflix's decision to end the show after this season isn't going to change. The good news, fortunately, is that we've finally gotten a teaser trailer for the finale season, so we don't have to worry about the series facing a similar fate as "Glow" or "The Santa Clarita Diet." Based on the comic book series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, "The Umbrella Academy" season 4 is bringing back all of our faves like Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore,...

The Umbrellas (and one Sparrow) are back in the first teaser trailer for The Umbrella Academy‘s fourth and final season.
The trailer, set to a remix of “The Final Countdown,” teases the show’s “final timeline” after three seasons of the main cast’s time-traveling, universe-saving adventures.
The Umbrella Academy season four will pick up after the climactic showdown at the Hotel Oblivion which resulted in a reset of their timeline and left the original crew stripped of their various powers.
The result leaves the fan-favorite siblings to “fend for themselves and find a new normal with wildly varying degrees of success,” the show’s description reads. “Yet the trappings of their uncanny new world prove too hard to ignore for very long. Their father Reginald, alive and well, has stepped out of the shadows and into the public eye, overseeing a powerful and nefarious business empire.”

Netflix has released the teaser trailer for the fourth and final season of its superhero series “The Umbrella Academy.” The footage, set to the tune of Europe’s 1986 song “The Final Countdown,” sees the Hargreeves siblings stepping out of their regular lives, prepping to band together one last time.
Based on the graphic novel series written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, the beloved series follows a family of adopted siblings with superpowers working to prevent the end of the world. This season, the Hargreeves are confronted with a new trial: living a normal life. Season 3 saw the siblings lose their superpowers after a complete universe reset.
Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore all return to the series. Min’s Ben Hargreeves uses his octopus-like tentacles to fling a foe during a fight scene in the trailer.

Exclusive: My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way, creator of comic The Umbrella Academy, is teaming with Dark Horse Comics to launch horror comic Paranoid Gardens in July.
Way is back working with his co-writer Shaun Simon. Chris Weston, known for his work in comics at Vertigo and DC as well as his work in concept art, storyboards and costume concept art for movies such as Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is illustrating the series, with artist Motohiro Hayakawa providing cover art for the first issue.
Dark Horse Comics describes the new comic as “Derek meets Doctor Who in six psychotic episodes.”
The official synopsis reads: “Loo is a nurse at the most bizarre care center around. The staff are not entirely human, and the cases are downright unearthly. Aliens, ghosts, superheroes and more creatures plague its hallways as doctors and patients and the hospital itself seem to be somewhat self-aware.

Congress is learning a tough lesson this Thursday: Don’t fuck with teens and their scrolling.
Teenagers are often (mistakenly) considered to be a generally politically apathetic demographic. Many of them can’t vote, so lawmakers tend to overlook younger Americans’ role in shaping culture and political movements. But as lawmakers consider new legislation that would potentially ban the social media app TikTok, congressional offices are being flooded with calls from teenagers livid over the prospect of losing one of their favorite platforms.

Well, the newest look at "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" certainly has some very interesting footage for fans to dissect. Seriously, those shots of all the Spidersonas together in what appears to be some sort of middle ground between multiverses look incredible, and we are certain that the actual animation to bring these characters to life will be stunning.
This multiverse middle ground doesn't just have the potential to look cool. "Into the Spider-Verse" proved that it was possible to travel between dimensions, with a couple of previously-obscure characters ushering in this important, multi-franchise-spanning plot point. With the waters now properly tested, it looks like "Across the Spider-Verse" will be taking advantage of all the creative opportunities involved in a multiverse concept, including just how many crazy characters can get their big-screen debut.

Yungblud brought rock to the NFL during his recent performance during the NFL London Games halftime show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where the Minnesota Vikings faced off against the New Orleans Saints.
Dropped into the center of a stadium filled with roaring football fans, Yungblud did seem slightly out of place — but standing out has been a staple of his artistic image from the beginning.
The Doncaster-native filled up his performance slot with live versions of “The Funeral,” “Tissues,” and “The Emperor,” all of which appeared on his recently released third studio album Yungblud.

My Chemical Romance formed on September 12, 2001. The date was no accident: They’ve long credited their formation to the events that happened on 9/11. Singer Gerard Way was working at Cartoon Network in New York City and experienced the aftermath firsthand, inspiring him to create something that could change the world for the better.
Twenty-one years later on Sunday night, My Chemical Romance took the stage at Barclays Center. Fans have been anticipating this reunion: After a 12-year run, they had split in 2013 to pursue other projects. Then, in 2017, they came together privately,...

The English supernova Yungblud—real name Dominic Richard Harrison, hailing from South Yorkshire—has been an anti-pop star since his 2018 breakthrough, amassing fans and ink with his insistent hooks, soul-exposing lyrics, and endlessly quotable interviews. His third album is self-titled, which implies a reset—although if anything, Yungblud’s version involves scaling up as much as possible.
Yungblud is a whirlwind listen, fusing together building blocks of various rock subgenres—mostly Britpop’s hip-shaking carnality and emo’s on-the-brink wails—then spit-shining them a bit before adding confessional lyrics. (He’s not baring everything,...

In theory, producing a television series based on an existing comic or a comic strip should be easy. The storyboards are all done for you, right? That's until you realize that what took an artist a day to draw might be impossible to commit to the screen without a budget matching a small country's gross domestic product.
That said, there is certainly no shortage of attempts, and with the increasing availability and affordability of CGI, it's easier to convey an artist's ambitious and mind-blowing visuals than ever before. From barrel-chested George Reeves' first portrayal of the Man of Steel in 1952's "The Adventures of Superman" to Lewis Wilson donning the familiar (yet excessively pointy-eared) cowl of Batman in the 1943 serial "The Batman," many familiar characters have made the leap from page to screen.

This article contains spoilers for The Umbrella Academy season 3.
With the conclusion of The Umbrella Academy’s third season, the show finds itself in some uncharted territory. Not only is the Hargreeves family once again lost in parts unknown, trying to find their way in a new-ish reality without their powers, but so too is the plot without a road map for the first time.
While each of The Umbrella Academy’s first three seasons has roughly corresponded to one of the three volumes of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s comic series, the show has no volume four to draw from. This means that The Umbrella Academy season 4 will have to go its own way.
According to Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman, however, that should all be just fine.
“From the time I started on the show five years ago and met Gerard, he talked a lot about where he wanted to go.

Netflix has announced that fans of "The Umbrella Academy" will get to spend a little bit more quality time with the Hargreeves — right before the superhero family says their final farewell. The Brellies have been renewed for a fourth and final season, marking the conclusion of the hit series based on the comic book series from Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. Expect to see all your favorite return: Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore are all set to reprise their roles as members of the wildly dysfunctional superhero family.
Prepare for one last season of dance sequences, sibling showdowns, and screaming funny words like kugelblitz. But while it's sad to see "The Umbrella Academy" say their goodbyes, it's a relief that the series will get a season to wrap up rather than going out on a massive cliffhanger.

Netflix has renewed “The Umbrella Academy” for a fourth and final season, the streamer said Thursday. Writer, showrunner, director, and executive producer Steve Blackman isn’t going anywhere, though: he’ll write and produce new series and “other projects” at Netflix under his newly established Irish Cowboy production banner, the company said, and is currently developing video-game adaptation “Horizon Zero Dawn” and original concept “Orbital.”
“I’m so excited that the incredibly loyal fans of ‘The Umbrella Academy’ will be able to experience the fitting end to the Hargreeves siblings’ journey we began five years ago,” Blackman said in a statement shared with media on Thursday. “But before we get to that conclusion, we’ve got an amazing story ahead for season four, one that will have fans on the edge of their seats until the final minutes.”

Photo: 'The Umbrella Academy' Overview Recently premiering on Netflix, the third season of the fan-favorite series ‘The Umbrella Academy’ made some rather progressive changes to its storyline in order to support one of its lead actors, Elliot Page. Page came out as transgender to fans around December of 2020, at which point he revealed his new pronouns as well as his new name. Prior to coming out publicly, Elliot Page was cast as the character of Vanya or Number Seven in the Netflix series ‘The Umbrella Academy’ based on a comic book series by the lead singer of the band My Chemical Romance – Gerard Way. As the series returns to the streaming platform for round three, some changes have been made to the storyline in order to express support for Page’s transition. After four weeks in the No. 1 position of Netflix’s Top 10 chart, Season 4 of “Stranger Things” has finally slipped from the top. Season 3 of “The Umbrella Academy” took that position during the June 20-26 viewing window, having premiered on June 22. The series was watched for 124.5 million hours in its first five days of availability on the streamer.
Based on My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way’s comic book series of the same name, “The Umbrella Academy” first debuted on Netflix in 2019. The series follows a group of young superhero siblings, with Season 3 centering the Umbrella Academy’s conflict with a new group called the Sparrow Academy — while an unidentified destructive entity is wreaking havoc in the universe.
“Umbrella Academy” Season 3 was highly anticipated, as Netflix announced in March that Elliot Page’s character, previously known as Vanya Hargreeves, would come out as transgender and change his name to Viktor.

As of this writing, season three of the Netflix series has a MetaCritic score of 72 based on nine reviews, of which six are classified as positive and the other three as mixed. None of the reviews are deemed outright negative. Compare that to season one, which scored 61 based on 22 reviews, and season two, which scored 67 based on 12 reviews. That may suggest stronger critical appeal with each passing season, or it could be attrition, with critics less favorable to the show no longer covering it.
