Channel 4 Pre-Buys ‘Hitler: A Life In Pictures’
Channel 4 has pre-bought Hitler: A Life in Pictures, an archival behind-the-scenes doc series exploring the public and private life of Germany’s infamous dictator. Woodcut Media is producing the four-part series and has struck a co-production and finance agreement with distributor Rainmaker Content. The doc features photos and videos from two photographers who dedicated their lives to documenting Hitler – Heinrich Hoffmann and assistant Eva Braun. The archive footage includes 1300 recently digitized, rarely-seen photos taken by Hoffmann and material garnered from Braun’s personal photo collection, along with more than four hours of her home videos mostly filmed at Hitler’s fortified chalet in the Bavarian Alps. “A picture paints a thousand words and the unique images we have procured for this Hitler series speak volumes about the depth of psychological manipulation that led to the rise of the Nazi regime,” said Woodcut Exec Matthew Gordon.

After years of fighting against being typecast as Lebanese or other Middle Eastern characters, actor Doris Younane is in a very happy place in her career.
She’s played a variety of characters, most of no specific ethnicity, in the past five years with recurring roles in Five Bedrooms, The Wrong Girl and Party Tricks plus guest appearances in Secret City, Harrow and Janet King.
“I just want to be seen as an actor in Australia,” she tells If. “I no longer want to be a pin-up for multiculturalism; I have passed that baton on to others. I’ve been really lucky. I think I am a good, solid actor and that’s what has got me through.”
Currently Younane is winning plaudits for her performance as the firebrand Heather in Five Bedrooms, Hoodlum Entertainment’s eight-part comedy-drama for Network 10 created by Christine Bartlett and Michael Lucas.

Michael Lucas and Christine Bartlett.
After years of creating fictional characters in such series as House Husbands, Offspring, The Wrong Girl and Playing for Keeps, Christine Bartlett allowed herself the freedom to do something unprecedented in Five Bedrooms.
Namely: To flesh out a character modelled on her own life and experiences.
Doris Younane plays her alter ego Heather in Hoodlum Entertainment’s 8-part comedy-drama co-created by Bartlett and her frequent collaborator Michael Lucas, which premieres on 10 at 8.40 pm on May 15.
The set-up director Peter Templeman describes Heather as “funny, complex and raw, and that’s Chris.”
Bartlett tells If: “Michael gave me permission to be totally unfiltered, so I went balls-out like never before. I was blown away watching what Doris did to bring the character to life.”
At the crossroads in her life, Heather is married to Colin (Alan Dukes), whom she says “peaked at high school,” and they have two doltish adult children.

Peter Templeman on set with Stephen Peacocke.
Director Peter Templeman rates Michael Lucas and Christine Bartlett as Australia’s pre-eminent creators of TV comedy-dramas.
So he jumped at the chance to serve as the set-up director of the duo’s Five Bedrooms, Hoodlum Entertainment’s 8-part series which premieres on 10 at 8.40 pm on May 15.
He could not be happier with the performances of the ensemble cast led by Kat Stewart, Stephen Peacocke, Doris Younane, Katie Robertson, Roy Joseph, Kate Jenkinson and Hugh Sheridan.
“Michael and Chris created totally real characters, each with a rich inner life and a back story,” Templeman tells If. “Working on the show was a great experience. We were spoiled for talent.”
Scripted by Lucas, Bartlett and Mithila Gupta, the plot revolves around five strangers, all misfits, who find themselves at a singles table at a wedding. After an excess of alcohol they decide the solution...

Mithila Gupta.
After screenwriter Mithila Gupta began her career in the Neighbours writers’ room in 2010, she often found she was the “only brown person” in the room.
Nine years on, Gupta is a torch-bearer for diversity in her craft, with an impressive resume that includes Winners & Losers, Playing for Keeps, Network 10’s upcoming Five Bedrooms and the ABC’s The Heights.
“We’re taking the right steps,” Mithila tells If. “The biggest challenge is having more people of colour in the writers’ room. This isn’t just ticking boxes, it is getting authentic voices who can provide a fresh perspective. Diversity is personal to me; it is emotional.”
The Indian-born writer who came to Australian when she was three hails the formation last year of the Australian Writers Guild’s diversity and inclusion advisory committee as a big breakthrough. She is serving on the committee alongside Niki Aken, Kodie Bedford,...

Celia Pacquola and Luke McGregor.

Celia Pacquola says buying a whiteboard was the best decision she has ever made as she prepares to shoot Rosehaven — the ABC comedy series she wrote and created with Luke McGregor.
.It was only like a hundred bucks from Officeworks and it flips, it.s the greatest,. she tells If.
The whiteboard in question, despite making the comment in jest, was how Pacquola and fellow comedian McGregor mapped out their new eight-part comedy series, which starts filming on Monday in Geeveston, Tasmania
The series, which also stars McGregor (Utopia, It.s a Date, Luke Warm Sex) and Pacquola (The Beautiful Lie, Utopia, Laid) was cooked up while both were on tour for their various comedy shows.
.Luke McGregor and I knew each other from standup but became really close friends from filming Utopia seasons 1 and 2,. she says..

John Edwards has produced more than 35 series, miniseries and telepics since 1985 in his illustrious career and has rarely made a misstep creatively.
So the producer was as surprised as Network Ten executives when Party Tricks opened poorly last month and even more so when the ratings for the second episode plunged by 32% and never recovered.
The 6-part drama has appealing leads in Asher Keddie and Rodger Corser, was created by Michael Lucas, one of the core writers on Offspring, and produced by Endemol Australia.s Edwards and his long-time collaborator Imogen Banks.
Keddie stars as Kate Ballard, the Victorian Premier, with Corser as David McLeod, the opposition leader and her one-time secret lover.
The premiere was watched by 710,000 viewers in the five capital cities and the second episode drew just 476,000.. The consolidated ratings were a bit more respectable: 806,000 capital city viewers, up 14% or 97,000 viewers with time-shifted viewing for the premiere; and 570,000 up 20% or 95,000 viewers,...

OKCupid discourages Firefox, Bishop Robinson explains why Christians are not victims, baby elephant plays water polo
Lucas Entertainment was one of the last holdouts making only condom porn. Now they’ve gone condomless, and Michael Lucas provides an explanation why that’s worth reading. And he also thinks that activists have cause and effect backwards when it comes to bareback porn. “I don’t think that bareback porn has driven gay men to bareback sex; I think that the rise in bareback sex has driven the industry to bareback porn.”
If you go to the homepage of OKCupid using Firefox, you’ll get an interstitial telling you that they’d prefer you used another browser to access their product because the Mozilla CEO supported Prop 8. Buck Angel documentary ‘Mr. Angel’ - about the life of the transgender adult star - available on DVD in December In the United States, it’s Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 28, 2013. It’s an inspirational time of the year for millions, so what’s more appropriate than the December 3 release of QC Cinema’s DVD Mr. Angel? Directed by Dan Hunt, Mr. Angel is described in the film’s press release as "an inspirational story of rare perseverance" that features "an unlikely hero": Buck Angel, himself described as a "transgender advocate, educator, and porn pioneer." As found in the SXSW Film Festival’s synopsis of Mr. Angel, Buck Angel "was born female yet always knew he was male." His parents raised him as a boy until he reached adolescence, and that’s when things took a downhill turn: drug addiction, homelessness, suicide attempts. Eventually, Buck Angel underwent a double mastectomy.

Jack Mackenroth made headlines back in 2007 when he publicly announced his HIV-status on "Project Runway." Six years later, Jack is making headlines again, this time for his efforts to end HIV stigma and encouraging testing.Jack and celebrity photographer Thomas Evans came up with a dynamic visual campaign called HIV= or HIV Equal. Jack described the premise of HIV= to toofab's Lawrence Yee."We're photographing people from all walks of life standing tall with the HIV= logo on their body somewhere," Jack explained. "It's not so much about a person's HIV status, it's about knowing your status. Instead of positive or negative we're all equal."To that end, everyone who is photographed also undergoes confidential testing. But the logo isn't the only part of the campaign, which is backed by World Health Clinicians."You notice in the photos, there's a whole play on words with the word 'status,' Jack explained.

Husbands the Series premieres new season, men’s underwear for receiving lap dances, Stephen Colbert to save Sochi Olympics from the gays
The first episode of Husbands the Series season three is out on the newly launched CW Seed. Sadly, it’s not embeddable, and for a start it’s also a little sad. It seems we’ll be using the flashback storytelling method this year. But somehow Seth Green as a minister just works.

Since he’s male, he’s obviously suing to prevent his wife and daughters from accessing free birth control. “I see abortion-inducing drugs as intrinsically evil, and I cannot in good conscience preach one thing to my kids and then just go with the flow on our insurance.

Gay porn mogul Michael Lucas wrote at length about his use of Truvada, or pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), as an HIV prevention method in an Op-Ed for Out magazine.
Lucas, who is HIV negative, spoke to HuffPost Live host Josh Zepps about his use of the drug, and why he feels more sexually active gay men should opt to use it.
"Whether they like it or not, it's human nature...people do not, in the heat of the moment, [use condoms]," Lucas said.
"The whole condom use thing failed, if you believe the statistics," he added. "It's a failure."...
