So what's The Queen's Review of 'The King's Speech'?
Two royal thumbs up.
Queen Elizabeth II of England, depicted as the young daughter of King George VI (played by Colin Firth) in the Oscar-nominated film 'The King's Speech,' received a screening about her father's struggle with public speaking and his eventual triumph in inspiring his nation in the face of a German invasion. According to producers The Weinsten Company, she was "moved" by the movie.
The film was only made following the death of her mother, The Queen Mum, who is played by Helena Bonham Carter in the film. She asked writer David Seidel to refrain from committing his screenplay to film until her passing, as it was too painful for her to watch.
Firth has won all the major film awards thus far, including the Golden Globe, for his role as King George VI,...

Now The King's Speech, which has been nominated for 12 Academy Awards and took home last weekend's top DGA and SAG honors, has found its own special audience -- none other than Queen Elizabeth. This comes from the Weinstein Company: New York, NY, February 4, 2011 – The Weinstein Company (TWC) is honored to learn that Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth, has enjoyed a private screening of The King’S Speech, as reported by Duncan Larcombe, Royal Editor, in today’s edition of The Sun. Courtesy of Patrick McMullan.Despite the fact it is nearly Independence Day, the Brits ruled at the Standard Hotel’s Le Bain club for the launch of Salvatore Ferragamo’s new fragrance, Attimo. Bubbly blonde London charmer Lucy Punch talked about her upcoming roles, from her trashy but loveable call girl in Woody Allen’s You will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, to the decidedly more respectable teacher she’s set to play in Bad Teacher, directed by Jake Kasdan. Elfin beauty and up-and-coming actress Lady Alice St Clair Erskine had flown back from the U.K. for the night with her boyfriend, portrait painter Wilby Wyndham, and his brother, the delectable thespian Leo Wyndham. Lord Edward Spencer-Churchill did a fly-by, and supermodel Agyness Deyn was rocking a new buzz cut—which everyone agreed could only be pulled...

Who is taking care of Prince Frederik and Princess Mary's children while the Danish royal couple is touring Vietnam? It turns out that like many families, the Prince and Princess look to their parents when it comes to babysitting. Princess Mary's father, John Donaldson, is taking care of two-year-old Princess Isabella and her four-year-old brother, Prince Christian, this week while Mary attends state banquets and travels with Frederik's parents, Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik. The Duke of Malborough's second son, Lord Edward Spencer-Churchill (not to be confused with his bad-boy half brother, Jamie, the Marquess of Blandford) has raised eyebrows by putting a portion of the family's Hill Barn Farm up for sale. Edwards calls it an "asset allocation decision."...
