Following the journey of boxer Rocky Balboa, Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky franchise stands as some of his most renowned work across his extensive career. After the success of the original 1976 film, the action star reprised his role in multiple films under the franchise, facing off various opponents in the boxing ring. The third film in the series featured Rocky Balboa going off against one of the most iconic adversaries of the franchise, Clubber Lang, portrayed by Mr. T.

The film was a huge hit, grossing, $270 million at the box office. And its theme song, Eye of the Tiger by the rock band Survivor, has become one of the most notable aspects of the film. However, it was not what the makers initially wanted for the movie, as they originally aimed to feature Queen’s Another One Bites the Dust.

While The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has had several updates and patches since its August 18th release, Gun Interactive recently implemented its first significant content update, boasting a variety of changes including new characters, a new map, and significant tweaks to gameplay. If you haven’t already picked a copy of the game up, there’s no better time to than now, and if you’ve already been playing, get ready to recalibrate your strategies, as the update provides some pretty substantial changes to the dynamic of the game across the board.
The most noteworthy aspect of the update is Nancy’s House, a brand new map that takes place at the home of the Family’s newcomer, Nancy Sawyer. As a first taste of what to expect of future maps outside of the original three, Nancy’s House is a refreshing change of pace for both The Family and the Survivors.

Society of the Snow, directed by Spanish filmmaker J.A. Bayona and Spain’s submission into the 2024 Oscar race, is based on the true story of the 1972 Andes flight disaster in which a flight carrying Uruguay’s Old Christians Club rugby team for a match in Santiago, Chile, crashed on a glacier at the Valle de las Lágrimas (Valley of Tears).
Of the 45 people aboard Flight 571 only 16 survived, including Roberto Canessa, who joined producer Belén Atienza and Bayona to discuss the film for Deadline’s Contenders Film: International.
The Netflix movie is adapted from Pablo Vierci’s 2008 book La Sociedad de La Nieve [Society of the Snow: The Definitive Account of the World’s Greatest Survival Story], which gives it distance from previous books and films about the story.
“You can that tell in this new take you have the gravitas, the weight of the time that has passed,” said Bayona. “It’s a much more spiritual book which was a challenge; what made the...

The rise of the Soulslike genre has, in some ways, defined the modern era of gaming. Like the Fps and Open-World genres before it, the Soulslike genre was born from the desires of its time and rebellion towards many industry trends. Of course, like the other greatest gaming genres, some Soulslike games are simply better than others.
Before we get into that, though, it’s important to define what a Souslike game is. While there is plenty of room for debate when formatting the exact definition of a Soulslike game, most entries into the genre feature some of these design elements:
– An emphasis on difficulty
– A checkpoint system that respawns enemies
– Role-playing elements that offer opportunities for character growth
– Encouraging player death to learn mechanics/environment navigation
– Indirect information related to narrative elements and gameplay mechanics
– Combat systems that focus on memorizing enemy movement and attack patterns

Ben Foster (The Survivor), Justice Smith (Sharper), Katherine Waterston (Babylon) and Maria Bakalova (Bodies Bodies Bodies) are set to star in the Topic Studios thriller Floodplain from director Tim Sutton.
The film explores themes of family trauma, environmental justice and race via the story of a man (Foster) who must return to his hometown to help prevent a catastrophic flood and confront the mistakes from his past.
Floodplain reteams Topic Studios with Foster following their work together on Debra Granik’s Leave No Trace. Bill Gullo wrote the script, with Oscar nominee Jordan Horowitz (La La Land) of Original Headquarters to produce alongside Annie Marter (The Devil All the Time). Topic Studios will finance the pic, with Ryan Heller, Michael Bloom and Jennifer Westin exec producing for the company.
Crystal Bourbeau will introduce the project to buyers at EFM with UTA Independent Film Group, which is co-repping the domestic rights.

Michael Keaton (“Dopesick”) has been the Emmy front-runner for Best Movie/Limited Actor since he won Critics Choice and SAG Awards earlier this spring for his performance as a doctor grappling with the opioid crisis. Good grief! Christmas specials are in full swing, and the networks dusted off some of their biggest classics last week: ABC’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and CBS’ “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” In their inaugural 2017 runs, “Rudolph” (2.1 among adults 18-49) edged out “Charlie Brown” (1.8), giving a ratings edge to the reindeer with a very shiny nose.
“Rudolph,” which premiered in 1964, and “Charlie Brown,” which first bowed in 1965, are considered the key staples in a sea of primetime holiday specials, some of which have come and gone over the years. But both specials were overshadowed this year by a newcomer: “DreamWorks Trolls Holiday,” which averaged a 2.4 rating when it aired on Nov. 24, during the Thanksgiving weekend.
But there are plenty of caveats to all of this, since none of the specials actually faced off in the same time slot. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” performed respectably considering it aired in a tough Thursday 8 p.

Christmas + romance + cute puppies = A recipe for ratings success at Hallmark. The network known for its sappy made-for-tv movies hit it big over the Thanksgiving weekend with five nights of ratings gifts — making for its biggest week in network history. Among total viewers in cable, only “The Walking Dead” (and its companion “Talking Dead”) and NFL football did better than Hallmark’s Friday, Saturday, and Sunday movies.
The film “Switched for Christmas,” starring Candace Cameron Bure as identical twin sisters who swap lives for the holiday, became the most-watched telecast in Hallmark Channel history on Sunday night. The film averaged 5.8 million viewers after three days of DVR and video on demand usage. Mark Deklin, Eion Bailey, and Happy the Dog — see, it ticked all the Hallmark boxes — also starred.
Close behind, Saturday’s “Hallmark Hall of Fame” presentation, “The Christmas Train,” averaged 5.6 million viewers — beating the four broadcast networks on the night.

It turns out there’s enough to go around ratings-wise on Thursday night. NBC has taken hold of the Thursday Night Football package, which it shares with CBS (both of whom simulcast with NFL Network), and its fortunes on the night have grown substantially. Now with two nights of NFL, plus staples like “This Is Us” and “The Voice,” NBC easily won the week ending November 12 in adults 18-49, and scored its first total viewers victory of the season.
But on Thursday nights, ABC and CBS also have reason to crow in the 8 p.m. hour: “Grey’s Anatomy,” which just hit its 300th episode, remains a potent force. And “Young Sheldon” is developing into a new hit behind “The Big Bang Theory.” (Also in the hour, Fox’s “Gotham” and The CW’s “Supernatural” also perform relatively respectably, although not nearly at the same level).

We all remember this iconic song from Survivor. When it hit in Rocky III we all knew that things were about to get real. Since that time the song has been used in a lot of different movies in different ways, usually as a type of parody to denote the seriousness of a situation no matter how comedic. 2017-04-06T10:46:10-07:00'Empire' Turns in Series-Low Ratings
The long road to the end of the broadcast season is going to generate some bummer headlines for a few TV powerhouses.
Empire nabbed another same-day series low on Wednesday, dropping another three-tenths of a ratings point from last week's low. It averaged a 2.2 rating among adults 18-49. And while that was enough to keep it as the night's highest-rated show, it was outwatched by Survivor, Criminal Minds and Chicago P.D. with 6.3 million viewers. Fox still won the night, with Shots Fired pulling a 0.9 rating in the key demo, but fatigue is evident in the flagship. Empire joins the much more senior Big Bang Theory in its late-season lows.
Speaking of series lows, Modern Family logged one as well. The ABC comedy was also down three-tenths of a point, averaging a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49 in between steady...
