Exclusive: In a competitive situation, John Wells Productions has landed the rights to Danya Kukafka’s recently published suspense thriller novel Notes on an Execution for series adaptation.
The novel, released just last month, tells the story of a serial killer in his last hours on death row through the eyes of the women in his life.

“Danya’s novel had us on the edge of our seats with its propulsive writing while also moving us with its powerful commentary,” said Erin Jontow, President of TV, John Wells Productions. “Everyone at John Wells Productions devoured the...

Steven Spielberg's regular cinematographer Janusz Kaminski is attached to direct the crime thriller "The Postcard Killings" for Good Films.
Based on James Patterson and Liza Marklund's 2010 novel, the story centers on New York detective Jacob Kanon who joins forces with Swedish art critic Dessie Larsson to investigate a seemingly senseless sequence of killings of couples across Europe.
Postcards are sent to apparently random journalists by the killer, each heralding the next horrific crime. Larsson has just received such a postcard, and she and Kanon must piece together the clues to catch the killer.
Marklund and Tove Alsterdal penned the screenplay. Filming will take place in New York, Munich, Stockholm, northern Sweden and possibly Norway.
