Exclusive: The era of The Man in the High Castle is coming to an end.
The upcoming coming fourth season of the acclaimed Amazon series based on Philip K. Dick’s 1962 novel will be its last, I’ve learned.
That fourth and final season is set to launch on the Jeff Bezos-founded streamer this fall.
Mithc meticulously and often chillingly depicts an alternative history where the harsh Nazis and Imperial Japan won World War II and carved up the globe, including the crown jewel of North America. Almost two decades into their rule a resistance has emerged fueled by mysterious films that show a reality much like our own.
Cast and crew on the Alexa Davalos and Rufus Sewell-led series from Ep Isa Dick Hackett, showrunners Daniel Percival and David Scarpa and Scott Free Productions were notified of the cancelation over the past couple of days on set...

‘The Man In The High Castle’: Frances Turner, Clé Bennett & Rich Ting Join Season 4 Of Amazon Series
Frances Turner (The Gifted) is set as a series regular and Clé Bennett (Homeland) and Rich Ting (NCIS: Los Angeles) have booked recurring roles on the fourth season of Amazon’s Emmy-winning drama series The Man in the High Castle.
Developed by Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files) based on Philip K. Dick’s award-winning 1962 alternate history novel, The Man in the High Castle explores what would have happened if the Allied Powers had lost World War II.
Turner will play Bell Mallory. Bell has escaped from a Nazi concentration camp into the Japanese Pacific States, where she meets Elijah (Bennett), a militant Black nationalist. Together the couple become members of a cell in the Bcr, an urban guerrilla movement dedicated to the liberation of African-Americans. Ting will play Captain Iijima, a driven, ambitious young detective in the Kempeitai and Kido’s close deputy.
Season four will go into production later...

Last week at San Diego Comic-Con, I had the opportunity to visit several press rooms to talk with the casts and crew of some of my favorite shows. At the press room for Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle, Executive Dan Percival sat down with us to talk about some of the show’s thematic elements, how it relates to today, and give us a preview for Season 2. Relevant Today? Everyone knows that at the same time as San Diego Comic-Con took place in San Diego, the Republican National Convention was taking place in Cleveland. I won’t take this platform

When the credits rolled on the series finale of The Man in the High Castle, Amazon’s original show that plunged America into a dark and twisted alternate history, fans were left with a truckload of unanswered questions.
Making matters worse, production on season 2 hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing, what with Frank Spotnitz’s decision to step down as showrunner mid-way through filming. In his steed, executive producers Isa Dick Hackett, David Zucker and Dan Percival helped steer development back on course, and here we arrive at the very first teaser for The Man in the High Castle‘s sophomore outing.
Hailing from Amazon’s Sdcc panel – one which featured series regulars Alexa Davalos, Rufus Sewell, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, and Rupert Evans – many of those unanswered questions are shoved into the limelight, not to mention footage of Hitler unleashing a nuclear bomb on a hapless population.

Ridley Scott and Philip K. Dick are a pairing made in heaven. Dick wrote a novel called “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” and Scott adapted that into a little film called “Blade Runner.” Since last year, Scott has been involved in another adaptation of the late author’s work in the Amazon series “The Man in the High Castle,” which debuted a new look at Season 2 at their Comic-Con panel yesterday.

Scott himself, off in production in Australia, introduced the clip through a video message. The preview features Alexa Davalos’ Juliana Crain as she wakes up in the trunk of car and in the midst of trouble. As she finds a way to pop the lock, all hell breaks loose.

The Man in the High Castle‘s behind-the-scenes intrigue — which rival its on-screen ones — didn’t even get a passing mention during the Amazon series’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con Thursday.

Childhood's End, a Us science fiction mini-series based on a classic Arthur C. Clarke novel which begins filming in Melbourne on December 1, will be a great gig for Australian cast and crew and, most probably, VFX houses.
A high percentage of the cast and crew will be Australian, according to Brett Popplewell, who is partnered with Jeff Hayes in HayPop, the service company contracted by Universal Cable Productions.
Popplewell and Hayes were approached by NBCUniversal executives in February/March to assess whether the six-hour series could be made in Australia and, if so, to work out a creative and financial structure.
The Docklands Studios and Melbourne locations won out thanks to a number of factors including the Victorian government.s financial assistance, the location rebate, cast and crew availability, locations and a weakening of the local dollar versus the greenback.

See-Saw Films and Rsj Films are teaming to produce the period drama series "Banished" for the new premium channel BBC First.
"Cracker" and "Redfern Now" writer/producer Jimmy McGovern is penning the seven-part series which centers on events in the 18th century when Britain established its penal colony in Australia.
The ambitious series follows the lives, loves, relationships and battle for survival of a group of convicts, the marines that guard them and men who govern them.
David Wenham ("300") plays pragmatic idealistic Governor Arthur Phillip who wanted to turn the ramshackle settlement of Sydney into land of opportunity.
Joseph Millson ("Holby City") plays Major Ross, a man who thinks the only chance of survival is to rule with an iron fist. Russell Tovey ("Looking"), Myanna Buring ("Ripper Street") and Julian Rhind-Tutt ("The Hour") play convicts.

Chicago – Actress Roma Downey and Producer Mark Burnett are on a mission. After producing the huge success of the miniseries “The Bible” last year, the husband-and-wife team now turn to the “greatest story ever told” – the life of Jesus Christ – in the new film “Son of God.”
Roma Downey is no stranger to the ethereal aspects of religious themed programming. For nine seasons, she was the star of “Touched by an Angel,” portraying a heavenly messenger who guided earthbound humans at their crossroads. Mark Burnett is a familiar name in the television universe, having produced several mega-successful reality shows including “Survivor,” “The Voice,” “Shark Tank” and “The Apprentice.” The couple were married in 2007, and last year produced the number one rated cable TV miniseries, “The Bible.” The 10 episodes followed the book from the beginning in the Old Testament (Genesis) to the Letters of Paul in the New Testament.

Each Christmas and Easter season, History and other cablenets air a number of documentaries on various aspects of the Bible, usually featuring talking-head experts and iffy-looking dramatic re-creations.
Often these productions take a skeptical look at the historicity or accuracy or veracity of biblical accounts, as if the last thing in the world a documentary would want to be seen doing is taking anything in the Bible at face value.
But skepticism was the last thing on the minds of reality TV mogul Mark Burnett ("The Apprentice," "Survivor") and his wife, actress Roma Downey ("Touched by an Angel"), when they set out as executive producers of "The Bible," airing Sundays from March 3 to March 31, which is Easter Sunday this year.
Joined by their faith and a love for the sacred writings of Judaism and Christianity, they have spearheaded a 10-hour, five-part dramatic series that spans the Old and New Testaments,...

HBO's sibling pay-cable channel Cinemax is venturing into original programming with its first scripted primetime drama, Strike Back, a 10-hour action series it will co-produce with British satcaster Sky and U.K.-based Left Bank Pictures (The Special Relationship). The project, written by The X-Files alum Frank Spotnitz and British TV writer Richard Zadjlic (EastEnders), is inspired by the Sky series Strike Back, which in turn was based on Chris Ryan's book of the same name. That series, produced by Left Bank Pictures, premiered last summer and starred Richard Armitage as John Porter, former British Special Forces soldier drafted back into service by MI6. The Cinemax/Sky version will have new settings/storylines and will introduce new characters, led by Damien Scott (Animal Kingdom's Sullivan Stapleton), a charismatic former U.S. Special Forces operative who teams up with a British military unit led by Section 20 officer Michael Stone...
