Virgin River Season 6 is on the horizon, and Benjamin Hollingsworth is giving fans some major tidbits to hold us all over until the show returns. The highly-anticipated sixth season, which is filming now, will be getting steamy. “We were read the riot act by Netflix about spoilers. I think I can say that we’ve definitely turned up the heat in Season 6,” Hollingsworth tells TV Insider. “I think all characters can fall under this umbrella. After watching Season 6, you might need a cold shower. I can say that without giving too much away.” The actor, who plays the brooding Brady, also reveals that there will be even “more Mel and Jack” in the upcoming season. “I’m going to cryptically say this: I think people will be very happy with how the show is returning to its roots of the relationship-driven show,” Hollingsworth adds. But what about Brie (Zibby Allen) and Brady?...

[This story contains major spoilers from season five, parts one and two, of Virgin River.]
Following a dramatic and intense season five of Netflix’s Virgin River, Alexandra Breckenridge was more than excited to take on the light-hearted holiday episodes that close out the two-part season.
This 12-episode season — which released its first 10 episodes on Sept. 7 — saw new relationships forming for several characters, Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) and Brie’s (Zibby Allen) shocking breakup, a wildfire that threatened the entire town, Brie’s difficult court trial for her sexual assault case and Jack (Martin Henderson) finding out his business is at the center of an illegal drug business.
But Breckenridge’s character Mel faced her own battles, including the emotional toll of suffering a miscarriage, which she says was “really difficult” and “very draining” to film.
Then, to add to the drama, Mel finds out in the part one finale that her biological father lives in Virgin River, of all places. Breckenridge recalled talking...

Just like family! Virgin River Season 5 recently dropped on Netflix, and the new episodes had us wondering if the cast is as close in real life as they are on screen. Well, when it comes to series stars Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson, the answer is yes.
Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson are friends in real life
Breckenridge and Henderson play fan-favorite couple Mel Monroe and Jack Sheridan in Virgin River. While the pair have a serious romance on-screen, in real life, the two actors are not a couple. However, they are good friends.
“I’m really good friends with Zibby Allen [who plays Jack’s sister Brie Sheridan], and Martin [Henderson],” Breckenridge revealed in an interview with The List. “Those are my two closest. They’re my friends; they’re my people.”
It’s not unusual for Henderson to share videos of himself and Breckenridge goofing around on set on Instagram. He’s also called his Virgin River...

Who is Calvin on ‘Virgin River’?
The latest Virgin River shocker came at the end of season 5’s 10th episode. A very pregnant Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) was attending the town’s Labor Day festival. As she was leaving the event, a man approached her.
“I thought you were dead,” she says as we see that the strange man is Calvin (David Cubitt).
“Yeah, so did the person who tried to kill me,” he replies. “I don’t have to hide from her anymore.”
Calvin, in case you forgot, was Virgin River’s resident drug kingpin.

An idyllic setting, charming cast, and sweet love story are often the ingredients needed for a good comfort watch. The desire to escape everyday pressures since the pandemic has seen viewers like myself going back to old favorites such as Gilmore Girls or finding something newer like Virgin River, currently streaming its fifth season on Netflix.
With each season reaching Netflix’s top ten, Virgin River has capitalized on fan’s love of Robyn Carr’s 21-book-long series of the same name and our increasing impulse to find new shows that don’t require too much of our attention. Virgin River is precisely that as it lacks terror-inducing Jaws music and instead provides Hallmark-esque vibes with the added dash of danger from the illegal drug trade surrounding the town.

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about Episodes 505 and 506 of Netflix’s Virgin River.
Virgin River‘s seasons are typically built around three tentpoles, the season premiere, the finale and a big event episode in the middle that propels the storytelling with plenty of aftermath to deal with in the remaining episodes. Big town events in the mid-run episodes have included the Moonlight Mingle dance in Season 1, the Lumberjack Games in Season 3 and the Renaissance Fair in Season 4. In Season 5, which marked the first for the hit Netflix series with new showrunner Patrick Sean Smith at the helm, a wildfire threatening the town of Virgin River. Because of the scope, it took two episodes — 5 and 6 — to deal with the natural disaster and its immediate aftermath.
During the episodes, still reeling from being ousted as the town’s mayor, Hope (Annette O’Toole) rises to the challenge and leads the evacuation efforts.

Changes are coming to Virgin River, and some of them are surprising.
Most of Virgin River Season 5 Episode 1 caught us up with where things left off during Virgin River Season 4 Episode 10 and eased us into some of the new conflicts and plots we can expect for the season.
One of the most prominent takeaways from the premiere is that Melissa Montgomery is here to disrupt Virgin River's quiet world and all the people within it.
If the hour didn't set anything else up, they touched on how many conflicts would arise because of Melissa's plans and actions and, sadly, because of how Brady and others may get tangled up in her web.
We also saw some new faces arriving, familiar ones departing, and some shake-ups.
Surprisingly, we breezed past those tense final moments of the season four finale that saw Jack learning the shocking truth that he was not the twins' father.

Jack is – and isn’t – the father
Virgin River Season 3 ended with Mel’s surprise pregnancy. But she wasn’t sure if she got pregnant from one last round of IVF with her dead husband’s embryos or if she conceived with her new beau, Jack. At first, Jack was hesitant to do paternity testing. On Wednesday, Netflix's first formal Upfronts presentation brought some exciting news for fans of the streaming service's most beloved shows.
Ginny & Georgia, which has been in limbo since January, has secured a pickup for two more seasons, keeping the show on the air through what will likely be the fourth -- and final -- season.
In an exclusive post-mortem interview in January, then-showrunner Debra J. Fisher teased that she and series creator Sarah Lampert had mapped out a four-season run for the show.
The renewal announcement's delay is shocking, especially considering the show has been a strong performer for Netflix.
However, the streaming service confirmed that Sarah Glinski (Degrassi: Next Class) will take over as showrunner from Fisher.
There is no reason for the switcheroo, but fans will be happy knowing the show is returning.
Ginny & Georgia Season 2 concluded with countless cliffhangers, including Georgia being arrested for murder.

The news of the drama’s impending sixth installment comes ahead of its Season 5 premiere, which is slated to launch in the fall. No specific details on Season 5’s release date are known.
The romantic drama follows Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse practitioner who relocates to Northern California after answering an ad to work as a midwife in the remote town of Virgin River. Virgin River fans will have to wait a little longer for Season 5, which will premiere this fall, Netflix announced in conjunction with its first ever upfront presentation Wednesday. And there is more news about the popular romantic drama, starring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson — it is getting an early Season 6 pickup.
While it may be unexpected, the early renewal is not surprising.
Virgin River, based on the bestselling book series by Robyn Carr, has been among Netflix’s most successful series. Its most recent fourth season amassed 277 million hours viewed in its first 28 days, on par with Season 3, and held the top spot in the streamer’s Top 10 for two weeks.

Virgin River is one of Netflix's buzziest series.
Fans were shocked earlier this year when Virgin River Season 4 wrapped up with several cliffhangers.
Thankfully, the cast is hard at work on the forthcoming fifth season, which will feature the 50th episode.
Martin Henderson, who plays Jack on the soapy drama, took to Instagram earlier this month to celebrate.
"We just completed shooting the 50th episode of Virgin River. Who knew we'd all still be here telling this wholesome love story for the ages?" the star wrote.
"Big congrats to our extremely hard-working crew and our talented delightful cast for always striving to make this the best for you incredibly passionate and oh-so-discerning audience.

Henderson previously dished some goodies about Virgin River Season 5 to Glamour.

Virgin River has been a huge hit for Netflix since its launch in 2019.
The romantic drama landed a two-season renewal last year, keeping it on the air through its fifth season.
With Virgin River Season 4 recently wrapped, there have been questions about whether the show will end with its fifth season.
Netflix tends to end shows before they get to a fifth season, unless they are global hits.
Thankfully, Jinny Howe, the Netflix drama head sees "longevity and growth" ahead, meaning that there's a good chance the show will continue for a sixth season.
However, Howe wants the show to continue "as long as the audience asks for it and shows up."
“We see with Season 4 that the fandom is very strong and growing in many places as well,” Howe told Deadline.
“It feels like, based on what we’re seeing with Season 4 and the anticipation for Season 5, that there...

Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) is still in some serious trouble, but he definitely ends Virgin River Season 4 in a much better place than he started. After all, he’s a free man, no one thinks he tried to kill Jack (Martin Henderson) — that was Vince (Steve Bacic) — and things seem to be going well with Brie (Zibby Allen). Sure, Brady and Jack haven’t talked, and there’s the matter of the inevitable love triangle — given Mike (Marco Grazzini) and Brie’s relationship in the books — but things could be worse … right? Well, that’s where Melissa (Barbara Pollard) comes in, taking over Calvin’s (David Cubitt) operation and forcing Brady to play an active role in the drug distribution. Hollingsworth takes us inside Season 4 and teases what’s next for Brady. How’s Brady feeling about his and Brie’s relationship? He does worry their happiness won’t last… Benjamin Hollingsworth: Yeah,...

The official trailer for season 4 of “Virgin River,” the Netflix romantic drama based on the novels of Robyn Carr, has been released.
“Virgin River” stars Alexandra Breckenridge as Melinda Monroe, a nurse practitioner who accepts a job offer to move from Los Angeles to the titular North Carolina small town. The show follows Melinda as she adjusts to small town life and gets involved with romantic drama, particularly involving local restaurant owner Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson).
The Season 4 trailer picks off where Season 3 left off, with Melinda pregnant and unsure whether or not the baby is Jack’s or if the father is her late husband Mark (Daniel Gillies). The question causes strain in the two’s relationship, especially with Melinda eager to find out who the father is, while Jack tries to dissuade her from taking a paternity test.

Looks can be deceiving.
When we first ventured to Virgin River in 2019, we followed Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) as she adjusted to small-town life.
You wouldn't believe anything bad ever happened in Virgin River, but each season has gotten progressively darker and more dramatic.
Netflix dropped the first trailer for Virgin River Season 4 on Friday.
The beloved series returns July 20 for its biggest season yet.
We're getting 12 new episodes, and the official trailer gives us plenty of teases about what to expect.
Unfortunately, things aren't looking up for any of the characters.
So much has happened, and the series seems intent on spinning more yarns of drama.
"Despite not knowing whether her baby belongs to her deceased husband, Mark or Jack, Mel begins Season Four with a sense of optimism," the official synopsis reads.
"For years she yearned to be a mother and her dream is one step closer to reality,...

Virgin River Season 4 is still a long way off, but at least we have some casting details to tide us over.
TV Line has revealed two new series regulars, and they're sure to get pulses racing.
Mark Ghanimé (The Bold Type) has officially joined the cast as Dr. Cameron Hayek, who is on board as the clinic's "dashing new physician."
"Armed with eye-catching good looks, a razor-sharp intellect, and a smile that could light up the world, Cameron makes an immediate splash in town — especially with the ladies of Virgin River," the character description reads.
We know the series loves a good romance story, so it will be fun to see who Cameron pairs up with.
It could also be a sign that Doc (Tim Matheson) will be scaling back his duties at the clinic.
Throughout Virgin River Season 3, he prepared for a replacement when his health declined.

Your prayers have been answered, “Virgin River” fans: The romance series has scored a two-season pickup, being renewed for both Seasons 4 and 5 at Netflix, the streaming service said Monday.
Starring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson, “Virgin River” tells the love story of Mel Monroe (Breckenridge), who answers an ad to work as a midwife and nurse practitioner in the remote Northern California town of Virgin River, thinking it will be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind.
Per Netflix, the 10-episode third season of the romance series, which launched in July, “left fans with more questions about the residents of this small town after a funeral, a fire, a divorce, a hurricane and a new romance.”
Looks like with at least two more seasons to go, those fans will be getting answers — hopefully — and lots and lots more loving between Jack (Henderson) and Mel.

Netflix has given romantic drama Virgin River a two-season pickup, Deadline has confirmed. The large, 20-episode order, typically reserved for the streamer’s biggest hits, follows strong performances of both Season 2 in later 2020-early 2021 and Season 3 this past summer.
In early December, Virgin River ended the The Crown‘s atop the Nielsen weekly streaming rankings. And in July, Virgin River dethroned Manifest to once again rank No. 1 on the Nielsen chart, a spot it held for two weeks.
Highlights in season 3 included a funeral, a fire, a divorce, a hurricane, a new romance and a cliffhanger. It starred Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Lauren Hammersley, Grayson Gurnsey, Sarah Dugdale, Zibby Allen, Marco Grazzini, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, and Chase Petriw.

For the week of July 12 — its first full week with all three seasons streaming — Virgin River topped Nielsen’s U.S. streaming rankings by amassing 2.1 billion minutes viewed across 30 episodes. In doing so, it ended summertime standout Manifest’s four-week run in the No.

From hurricanes to shootings to relationship turmoil, Netflix's romantic drama Virgin River has it all.
TV Fanatic got the chance to watch every episode of Virgin River Season 3 ahead of its July 9 debut, and we're happy to report that it does not disappoint.
The season picks up shortly after the events of Virgin River Season 2 and throws viewers right into the thick of it with the show’s signature heartwarming stories, but they're infused with some of the most shocking twists to date.
Jack and Mel remain very much at the wheel of this story, and their relationship continues to transform, but don't expect it to be smooth sailing for them.
Many dramas botch romances because they throw in too many hurdles, but part of the allure of Virgin River has always been in the way it handles these relationships at the core of the series.

Baby fever is sweeping Virgin River in Season 3, as revealed in an extremely dramatic trailer for the Netflix drama’s upcoming third season.

Netflix dropped the trailer for the third season of its romance series “Virgin River” on Friday, revealing Jack Sheridan’s (Martin Henderson) fate after the Season 2 finale ended with him bleeding out from a gunshot wound on the floor next to Melinda “Mel” Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge).
Luckily, the video shows us almost immediately that Jack is Ok, but he is going to need some downtime to recover from the injury and Mel is the biggest supporter of him staying in bed — for medical reasons and romantic ones.
Yes, these two lovebirds are finally, officially in a real relationship, which means things are about to get complicated in a different way, as the topic of having a baby together comes up between them — and pretty much everyone else in town. Mel might want to, but she’s obviously still traumatized by the death of her family. Jack might not want to...

If you're a fan of Virgin River, we have a big surprise for you!
Netflix announced on Friday that the beloved drama's third season is premiering much sooner than originally thought.
New episodes will be available to stream on Friday, July 9.
Many fans were not expecting fresh episodes until the end of the year since it was only in November 2020 that Virgin River Season 2 launched.
While many shows have suffered delays due to Covid-19, it's full steam ahead for this delightful drama.
The news also means that fans don't have long until they find out whether Jack survived the shooting on Virgin River Season 2.
Yes, it was a wild development, and we hope it will be addressed early on Virgin River Season 3.
Jack was an upstanding citizen, but he did have some enemies, so it's difficult to tell who pulled the trigger or what could have transpired in the moments leading up to the shooting.
