During their long years in professional sports, there are hardly any athlete who’s body parts remain intact and function as well as they once did.
Like most of top athletes, Sachin also had to endure a lot of pain and suffering over the years and his injury-list used to become the talking point in the cricketing circle.
But time and again, the Master Blaster fought against all the odds and made inspirational comebacks during his 24-year-long cricketing career.
Keeping track of Sachin’s injuries was rather tough, though it started way back in 1999. In March-April that year, a back injury forced him out of the tri-series featuring Pakistan and Sri Lanka at home, and the tri-series featuring Pakistan and England at Sharjah that followed.
In 2001, Sachin was forced to sit out of the tri-series against New Zealand and hosts Sri Lanka due to a toe-injury. In 2002, a thigh injury...

New Delhi, Jan 23 (Ians) India’s left-handed wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has avoided a lengthy suspension on his attempt to deliberately appeal for a hit-wicket against New Zealand captain Tom Latham in the first Odi at Hyderabad.
A report in stuff.co.nz on Monday said under the Icc’s Code of Conduct, Kishan could have been charged with a Level 3 offence of attempting to gain an unfair advantage – which leads to a suspension of between four and 12 ODIs or Twenty20 internationals.
The incident happened on the fourth ball of the 16th over when Latham, playing his first ball of the match, went deep in his crease and tapped off left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav through the leg side.
Kishan suddenly went up in appeal and was joined in the same by captain Rohit Sharma. The square seg umpire instantly took the decision upstairs, mainly unclear as to what exactly had happened.

New Delhi, May 16 (Ians) India pace bowler Mohammed Shami has said that the Indian Premier League (Ipl) helped him get his "rhythm back" after a long injury layoff.
Shami was hit on the elbow by a delivery from Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins while batting during the opening Test in Adelaide in December. He was ruled out of the rest of the series as well as the home England series that followed.
"The experience over the years has helped me learn to look after my body. I know how much training is needed, how to keep myself hydrated etc -- all these factors must have also helped," Shami told Gulf News.
On his return to action after four months, Shami did well for Punjab Kings in IPL14, picking up eight wickets in as many matches.
