Since its glorious inception in 2008, the property has grown by leaps and bounds. Cricket as a sport, thereafter, has grown expeditiously and has captured millions of eyeballs. The T20 format, which was once scoffed at by conventional followers, has brought about modernity, spark and youthfulness. The wonderful extension that has arisen from the quick, fast-paced limited-overs version is the way in which it has seeped into bettering the longer version of the game i.e. Test cricket. Teams around the world have become result oriented and one is seeing a far more positive approach to the game.
The Ipl has introduced a few innovative changes in this year’s tournament. The toss, because of the dew factor, did at times assist one who happened to win it and so announcing the final eleven after it, is in itself quite an important change. The ‘Impact’ player option does put that extra spice into the game.

Ipl 2023: Manjrekar expects Gujarat Titans to carry the same kind of confidence they had last season
New Delhi, March 30 (Ians) Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar said he is expecting Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans to carry the same confidence they had while winning Ipl 2022 to the upcoming edition of the tournament starting from March 31 in Ahmedabad.
In their first appearance of the league, Titans had topped the group stage in Ipl 2022 with 20 points coming from ten wins and four losses. In the playoffs, they managed to get the better of Rajasthan Royals by an identical margin of seven wickets in both first qualifier and title clash, to lift the coveted trophy in their debut season of the Ipl.
Now entering Ipl 2023 as defending champions, the Titans will be looking to kick off the 2023 season with a bang against four-time Ipl winners Chennai Super Kings at their home ground, Narendra Modi Stadium, on Friday.
“They had the worst performance in the Ipl 2022 auction but ended up winning the title.

Ahmedabad, Feb 22 (Ians) India and England will start on equal footing when they clash in the pink ball third day-night Test match on an untested pitch at Sardar Patel (Gujarat) Stadium here in Motera, near Ahmedabad, from Wednesday, says former India captain Gautam Gambhir.
The four-match Test series is tied 1-1. Both matches were played at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, with England winning the first one and India the second. The fourth Test, beginning on March 4, will also be played at the same venue, in Motera, though it will be a day match.
"It's a new stadium, a new wicket and the Test match will be played with the pink ball. So, nobody knows how the ball will move, seam or bounce. Plus, it's a new venue for both teams, hence both teams will start on equal terms," Gambhir said on Star Sports.

New Delhi, Nov 28 (Ians) The Delhi and District Cricket Association (Ddca) on Saturday announced seven more committees, in addition to the finance committee, though the most important panel from the point of view of the upcoming domestic cricket season, the Cricket Advisory Committee (Cac), has not been named so far.
The league and tournament committee, too, has not been announced.
A seven-member finance committee was announced on Monday, and the total number of committees are now eight. It is the most important committee, considering the Ddca's history of financial irregularities, and is headed by Shashi Khanna, wife of former acting Bcci president and ex-vice-president of Ddca, Ck Khanna.
Since the Cac has not been constituted, the selection committees too have not been formed as it is the mandate of the Cac to choose the selectors.
New president Rohan Jaitley said the Cac would be announced next week,...

Dubai, Oct 6 (Ians) Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar believes Rishabh Pant is a perfect replacement for Ms Dhoni in the national side as the left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman provides Team India with a much-needed balance in the middle order, which is full of right-handers.
Pant has been in good form in the ongoing Indian Premier League, scoring 171 runs in the five matches he has played for the Delhi Capitals.
"In terms of wicket-keeping, I think it would be Rishabh Pant. I think the way he started this year's Ipl and I think it is very important to have a left-hander as an option because for Team India when it comes to the middle-order as it helps to balance out the right-handers," said Bangar while speaking on Star Sports show Cricket Connected.
Meanwhile, former India pacer Ashish Nehra also supported Bangar's point of view on Pant and said: "I am in total agreement with Sanjay Bangar.
