The sense of brotherhood prevalent among the Clones often contributes to some of the most poignant storylines in the universe of Star Wars, and the animated series Bad Batch was a prime examples. After three memorable seasons, the series finally came to an end with the final episode of the third season, and the emotional connection established with the eponymous team of Clones was done justice to in a befitting way.
Previously, held captive with other Force-sensitive children at the Imperial base of Mount Tantiss, Omega had discovered a way to escape from the vault through pneumatic shafts and was able to find a way to distract the security after locating a captive Zillo Beast inside the base. Evading capture, the Batch somehow make their way to the jungle of Tantiss, and Omega rightly guesses at their arrival. On the other hand, Echo managed to infiltrate the base and met Dr.

After a rollercoaster journey of three seasons and 47 episodes, Star Wars: The Bad Batch has finally come to an end. The beloved Clone Force 99 have hung up their helmets in an epic 50-minute finale that rounds off their stories while also setting up the future of the galaxy far, far away. All roads lead to Mount Tantiss, and following last week’s cliffhanger ending, Crosshair, Hunter, and Wrecker (all voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) launch a rescue mission alongside former Imperial Vice Admiral Rampart (Noshir Dalal). Meanwhile, Echo (Baker) finds himself inside the base and working with Dr. Emerie Karr (Keisha Castle-Hughes), who’s had a change of heart.

The third and final episodes of Star Wars: The Bad Batch will conclude the series, and as such, fans are eagerly awaiting its release on Disney+. Not too long after the conclusion of the second season, it was confirmed that the animated spin-off Star Wars: The Clone Wars would wind up with season 3.
Because of this, the third season’s plot was immensely considerable, involving The Bad Batch’s characters coping with Tech’s death’s aftermath, Omega’s imprisonment by the Empire, and Crosshair’s eventual redemption.

With the implications of the larger canon, it is hard to see Omega having a happy ending. Fans should be ready for a ‘bittersweet’ conclusion to Omega’s story, as voice actress Michelle Ang recently hinted.

Season 3 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch premiered without Tech, a core member of Clone Force 99, leaving audiences to question what happened and if he's truly dead.
True to his name, Tech (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) was the elite squad's computer and weapons specialist known for his practical, analytical approach and dry sense of humor.
While Hunter and Omega were typically at the forefront of the Star Wars Disney+ series, Tech proved to be the hero of Season 2, leaving the squad reeling from his loss.

This Star Wars: The Bad Batch article contains spoilers.
The squad’s back together in the latest episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, suitably titled “The Return.” Well, most of Clone Force 99 is back. While Echo is back with the Batch, and Hunter is begrudgingly letting Crosshair back into the fold, they’ve still lost Tech. There are already plenty of theories out there suggesting Tech’s still out there, but for the moment, his apparent death has left a hole in the fabric of the team. At its best, this Star Wars series is about family and this one’s close to complete but not quite, especially as there are quite a few wounds left to heal between Crosshair and the rest of the squad.
Fortunately, “The Return” kicks off the healing process, from Crosshair helping his brothers locate the Empire’s top-secret Tantiss Base to Wrecker handing...

This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" season 3, episode 4, "A Different Approach."
The original lineup of the Bad Batch consisted of four core members of "Experimental unit Clone Force 99": Hunter, the leader; Wrecker, the muscle; Tech, the brains; and Crosshair, the sharpshooter. They did several missions together throughout the Clone Wars and were a tight-knit team based on the planet Kamino. That all changed, though, when the newly-declared Emperor issued Order 66. Most folks familiar with "Star Wars" are also familiar with the order Palpatine gave the Clone Army to kill the Jedi. The Bad Batch was on the planet Kaller — as depicted in the first episode of "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" — when the order came in, and it caused a rift in the group. Hunter, Tech, and Wrecker seemed virtually unaffected by the inhibitor chips that caused compliance with Order 66 and had no interest in...

The end of The Bad Batch season 2 saw a beloved member of the team sacrifice himself so that the rest of Clone Force 99 could escape the Empire in one piece. Tech seemingly fell to his death on the planet Eriadu during a mission to learn more of the Empire’s Advanced Science Division, and has since been mourned by both his teammates and fans of the show. However, a mysterious new stormtrooper in the season 3 episode “Shadows of Tantiss” has fans wondering whether he might just be Tech back from the dead, now under the influence of the Empire.
According to eagle-eyed fans, this stormtrooper is too reminiscent of Tech to be pure coincidence. From the more slender body shape to the way the stormtrooper crosses their arms to the almost familiar way he hovers near Crosshair, many are convinced...

The fact that animated adaptations of the majority of fictional lore will always turn out to be superior to any other form of media presentation has been proven to be universal by now, and the tales of a galaxy far, far away are some of the best examples in that regard. Star Wars as a franchise has found some of its best storytelling opportunities when the medium is animation and the focus is not on the force-sensitive rival orders of Jedi or Siths; instead, the grounded, human side of the lore is highlighted. The Galactic Empire’s early days, which spanned between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, have been established as the perfect backdrop for such narrative treatment, as seen since the first Clone Wars series. Which is why it is little wonder that Dave Filoni’s decision to make a series based on...

Clone Force 99 is back in action.
The last time we saw the genetically altered clone troopers in Disney+’s The Bad Batch, they were dealing with the presumed death of Tech, who’d died during a mission, and the loss of clone Omega, who’d been captured by the Empire. Omega, however, had also reunited with Kaminoan scientist Nala Se as well as Crosshair, both of whom seemed to be waking up to the Empire’s true (evil) nature. Meanwhile, Hunter and Wrecker were determined to track down Omega (and, perhaps, Crosshair), while Echo joined up with Rex to fight the Empire.
On Feb. 21, the third and final season of the animated series debuts on Disney+ (watch the trailer). Disney+ released an official description for the third season: “In the epic final season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, the Batch will have their limits tested in the fight to...

Welcome class! In today's lesson on "Why Star Wars Animation is the best Star Wars," we'll be talking about the third and final season of "Star Wars: The Bad Batch."
A continuation of the beloved "Clone Wars" animated series centered on the members of Clone Force 99 (each of whom bears unique genetic traits or mechanical implants that distinguish them from other clones), "The Bad Batch" does a better job of balancing standalone storytelling with connections to the rest of the "Star Wars" universe than most of its live-action peers on Disney+. More than that, it's a show that takes the anti-fascist messaging at the core of George Lucas' creation to heart by revealing how the rise of the Galactic Empire led to a clamp-down on both personal freedoms and the quality of life for your average civilian in a galaxy far, far away.

What?! That’s where all of us Star Wars fans are at after watching the trailer for The Bad Batch season 3, which reveals that Asajj Ventress is Alive. What the heck is happening in the galaxy far, far away?
Remember: the fan-favorite The Clone Wars Nightsister villain was a staple of that TV series…until she was killed offscreen during the show’s long hiatus, in the pages of the novel Dark Disciple by Christie Golden. In that 2015 novel, Asajj, operating as more of an anti-hero than a straight up dark sider, sacrificed herself to save the man she loved, the rogue Jedi Quinlan Vos, from Count Dooku. At the end of the book, Asajj is returned to the waters of Dathomir, where the Nightsisters lay the dead to rest.
Here’s the problem: this all happened during the Clone Wars era, some time before the events of Revenge of the Sith.

All living beings must go to the Cosmic Force. Since childhood, Jedi carried the mantra of "There is no death, there is the Force." Although Jedi Master Yoda once preached that someone passing on is a cause for rejoicing, he's still no match for the floodgates of sorrow. Death may be a natural part of a life cycle, but that doesn't make it fair, especially premature ones brought by galactic injustices.

In the season's climactic final episode, Tech — the most technologically savvy and neurodiverse of Clone Force 99 — is forced to sacrifice himself in order to save the rest of the Bad Batch. They decided they had to infiltrate Governor Tarkin's retreat on his home planet of Eriadu and there is a cost to this mission. Tarkin puts them in a position where there's no other option and for the Bad Batch to escape, Tech has to die.

Charting its own course through the ever-expanding Star Wars galaxy, The Bad Batch offered action, drama and thrills, with the added advantage of telling stories set between the trilogies with characters whose fates are not decided. The show itself has been officially confirmed for a third season – but it'll be the last.
The show, for the uninitiated, stars the heroes of Clone Force 99, an elite group of mutant clones who went rogue after the fall of the Republic and the establishment of the Empire. But Season 2 had a much wider focus, exploring the fate of the Empire's entire clone program.
Following – spoiler alert if you're somehow not caught up — the death of Tech at the end of Season 2, the new run of episodes will ramp up the emotional levels and the scope once again, as the team searches for the abducted Omega.

With all eyes fixed on "The Mandalorian" and the other live-action "Star Wars" series on Disney+, "The Bad Batch" has quietly emerged as one of the best things to come from a galaxy far, far away since the House of Mouse took over. For as much as the "Clone Wars" spin-off played things too safe in season 1, it had an easier time finding its ethos than other animated "Star Wars" shows. Right out of the gate, "The Bad Batch" proved it was willing to go to dark places in exploring the early days of the Galactic Empire, starting with Clone Force 99's experiences during Order 66.
Things only got bleaker from there, revealing how the Empire emboldened enslavers and other criminals to conduct their business in the daylight, all while civil liberties were being stomped out. Season 2 doubled down on that sentiment,...

In the process, they get a fragment of data from the ship's computer that could lead them in the right direction, but they need someone incredibly talented to decode the information, so Echo makes arrangements to meet with Tech and the rest of the Bad Batch on Pabu.
Meanwhile, at the Imperial Advanced Science Division facility at Mount Tantiss, Dr. Royce Hemlock (Jimmi Simpson) begins torturing Crosshair, hoping to get information...

Spoilers for "The Bad Batch" Season 2 Episode 9 - "The Crossing" follow.
"The Crossing" is the latest episode of "The Bad Batch" and it sees Omega and the team of Clone super commandos — minus Echo — heading to a distant mining planet where Cid has taken control of a mine. There, it's their task to mine a precious substance called Ipsium and get back. Unfortunately, in the process, their ship is stolen by a masked thief and they're stranded on the planet. Things get worse when they are pursued by a desert lightning storm and take shelter in a mine where they are promptly trapped.
The episode ends on a cliffhanger with the Bad Batch and Omega still left on the deserted desert planet, hoping Cid will come rescue them before their rations run out.
With classic Western story riffs and a score and location to match, this episode puts the heroes...

Wasting no time, Star Wars: The Bad Batch‘s two-episode premiere (streaming now on Disney+) finds the titular mutant-clones evading angry crab monsters, pillaging Count Dooku’s abandoned palace, and (miraculously) managing to squeeze through the Empire far-reaching, ever-lengthening fingers.
The first episode, titled “The Spoils of War,” opens on a quiet tropical planet seemingly unbothered by Imperial interest. The tranquility proves temporary, as Wrecker, Hunter, and Echo (all voiced by The Clone Wars alum Dee Bradley Baker) burst out of a beachside grove with a swarm of riled-up crab aliens snapping at their heels. With help from other Bad...

Spoilers follow for "The Bad Batch" season 2 premiere - "Spoils of War" and "Ruins of War."
The boys of Clone Force 99 (Dee Bradley Baker), "The Bad Batch" return for their second season on Disney+ today.
For those hazy on the Bad Batch, they're a group of genetically modified clones who served as a special forces team during the Clone Wars. Order 66 didn't hit them like the rest of the clone troopers and they ended up back on Kamino, confused and forced to test their loyalty. Eventually, they escaped the clutches of the Empire and took Omega, a Jango clone unlike any other, with them.
Season 1 culminated in the orbital bombardment of their home planet of Kamino and further pushed them into the shadows. As season 2 opens, some time has passed since the destruction of Kamino that capped off the last episode of the previous season. The clones are still avoiding the Empire,...

To be a clone soldier is to have an unlucky station in life throughout the "Star Wars" franchise. Bred and conditioned for military servitude, the clone troopers (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker), known as Clone Force 99 aka the Bad Batch, don't really know a galaxy without war. As the Republic morphed into the Empire, the clone troopers confront a more precarious and expendable position in the galaxy as conscripted stormtroopers usurp their military roles. Even clones loyal to Emperor Palpatine don't get the best treatment. This slams in full force in season 2 of the "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" CGI cartoon, the follow-up to "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" animated series.
Being Awol clones with mutations and specialized abilities (unlike "reg" clones), the titular Bad Batch siblings face the growing tyranny of the Empire. After they survived the latter's orbital bombing of Tipoca City, squad leader Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, and...

"Are you having dark thoughts, Clay?" The trailer for Canadian thriller Neon Lights certainly looks promising. The story itself involves a family reunion in a large, spacious home with many rooms, some with quite distinctive lighting. My colleague Andrew Mack was similarly impressed with the trailer, though neither of us have seen the complete film. Here's the synopsis again: "Tech tycoon, Clay Amani, retreats to an off the grid location in search of meaning and peace, with disconnected siblings and their offspring, only to be caught in a bone-chilling killing spree within his new estate." Neon Lights is now available On Demand and Digital via Momentum Pictures. Check out the trailer below....

It premiered as something of an underdog, but after four seasons the AMC drama “Halt and Catch Fire” emerged as a cult and critical favorite, mining unexpected depths of drama from its depiction of the computer industry’s nascent days. And two of its biggest fans, from beginning to end, were computer experts Jim and Janet Miller, who had an intimate connection with the world depicted by the show — because the show’s journey directly tracked with their own lives.
Jim and Janet began their careers in Texas during the early 1980s, Aka the “Silicon Prairie” era, before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1988 to work for companies including Apple, Hewitt-Packard, and Sap. (Along the way, they also raised two children: my brother Eric and I.)
As they’ve done for previous seasons, Jim and Janet (who still live in Silicon Valley) agreed to share their thoughts on...

In the age of nonstop studio blockbusters, a composer is never out of work. And no composer works harder than James Newton Howard. The brains behind more than 150 scores for film and TV, Howard has been nominated for eight Oscars across a career spanning more than four decades. His work includes the “Hunger Games” series; “Pretty Woman”; and every M. Night Shyamalan movie.
And music from all those films was on display at the 52nd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic, where Howard was honored during the June 30 opening ceremony with the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema.
“I’m very lucky,” Howard told IndieWire at the festival the next day. “I do seem to be in demand.”

Tech N9ne certainly isn't a household name. He isn't necessarily a big name in the realm of hip-hop either, but thanks to appearing at festivals like Rock the Bells and touring on his own, he's been able to sell over a million records and build a solid, dedicated fanbase. As he prepares to drop his newest album, The Ollie Gates Mixed Plate, named after a restaurant in his hometown of Kansas City, Missouri, he told Mixtape Daily about the unconventional road he took to get here.
"Being involved in all of those major labels in the past, nobody knew really how to do me, how to put me," Tech said. "But who knows how to do me better than anybody: me."
He and his business partner,...
