- Stealers Wheel was a Scottish folk-rock band fronted by longtime school chums Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty. The group was first formed in Paisley, Scotland in 1972. Besides lead singers Egan and Rafferty, the other members were guitarist Paul Pilnick, bassist Tony Williams, and drummer Rod Coombes. Stealers Wheel scored a substantial smash hit with the infectiously bouncy and catchy Bob Dylanesque bubblegum folk-rock treat "Stuck in the Middle With You;" the song peaked at #6 on the US Billboard charts and the single sold over a million copies worldwide. ("Stuck in the Middle With You" was featured on the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs," plus has been used on episodes of the TV shows "Malcom in the Middle" and "Gilmore Girls.") The band's acclaimed self-titled debut album likewise did well. Alas, the follow-up album "Ferguslie Park" was a commercial flop. However, the group had a modest chart success with the charming song "Everyone's Agreed That Everything Will Turn Out Fine" and cracked the Top 30 in both England and America with the lovely mid-tempo tune "Star." Alas, severe internal conflicts between founders Egan and Rafferty caused an 18 month delay with their third and final album "Right or Wrong." Stealers Wheel subsequently broke up in 1975.- IMDb Mini Biography By: woodyanders
