Hey batter batter! The World Series is kicking off on Oct. 23, and though the Cardinals and Red Sox will be settling the score on the field, the thing we’re more concerned about is which team looks sexier in their uniforms — and out of them!
Let’s get this out of the way — baseball can be boring. The games can take forever, the scores can be painfully low, but it does have one saving grace — the players, and those tight, form-fitting pants they wear. So with the Boston Red Sox squaring off against the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2013 World Series (starting on Oct. 23), we’ve put together a master list of the players you should be looking out for.

Labrador Puppies. Good wine. A delicious burger. There are very few things that I love more than the St. Louis Cardinals. I don’t even know if I love those things more than the Cards. And it’s because I love them that I am appealing to, nay, Demanding (Ok, I’m really begging) St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Matheny when I say – for the love of God and all things good, please, please, please bench Matt Holliday for the postseason.
I have nothing against him personally. In fact, I really like Matt Holliday. He is a stand up man of great character. An incredibly positive influence in the dugout, particularly for our young players, and one of the anchors of my beloved St. Louis Cardinals. We would not be in the postseason without him. His regular season consistency regularly puts us in the postseason. But it is at the...

Infield fly rule and Braves fans throwing bottles mar Chipper Jones' possible final game in baseball
The new one-game playoff meeting between the two Wild Card winners in the National League took place Friday night (Oct. 5) between the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals. It was a wild game starting a couple innings in.
First, the Cardinals were able to get a lead on two unearned runs that stemmed from an error by Mlb veteran Chipper Jones, who is retiring after this season and therefore is playing in his last game if the Braves lose. And Jones was not the only error in the game -- the Braves, who were the best fielding team in the National League this year, committed three errors on the night.
Secondly, it appeared as though the Braves took the lead later when a throw to first hit the runner and careened off to the right field foul area, letting two runs score. However, the baserunner was on the infield grass...

A Texas Rangers fan was ejected from Game 3 of the World Series on Saturday after throwing a ball near St. Louis Cardinals left fielder Matt Holliday as he tried to catch the actual game ball. Holliday was waiting for a fly ball off the bat of the Rangers' Nelson Cruz when the fan leaned out from the stands and threw the ball near Holliday. But Holliday didn't even seem to see it -- and caught the right ball. The fan was later shown being ejected from the stadium. In his defense, the Rangers...

Congratulations to Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, who won the 2010 Major League Baseball Home Run Derby on Monday night (July 12). Ortiz managed to crank out a total of 32 home runs over the course of three rounds, including an 11 dinger final round that allowed him to slip past Hanley Ramirez, the Florida Marlins shortstop who joined Ortiz in the last round. In addition to Ramirez, Ortiz also left New York Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher, St. Louis Cardinals left fielder Matt Holliday, Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Vernon Wells, Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder Chris Young, Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera and Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Corey Hart in his wake.
Though the backdrop was beautiful (Angel Stadium features a lovely rock formation beyond the center field wall, which made for a lot of awesome-looking ricochets and wacky bounces), the telecast on Espn remained as problematic as ever. Depending on who your are,...
