It’s Part One of the Top Chef Season 9 Texascouver Finale, entitled Culinary Olympics, and let me just begin by saying, many people have incessantly complained about this season (most notably my mothers’ texts at 11:01 every Wednesday), saying that it’s the worst Top Chef season yet. I haven’t totally agreed, as I believe peoples’ reservations are more a factor of just Top Chef fatigue in the show’s 9th season mixed with a largely uninspiring cast (with one head-and-shoulders favorite who should’ve been named the winner six weeks ago). The challenges, on the contrary, have actually been very good this season, as they’ve mostly bypassed gimmicky themes (Bi-Parti-Sandwich, or “Cook something a penguin would eat!” “I think a penguin would love this braised shortrib”) and arbitrarily-restricting challenges in favor of challenges that showcase the chefs’ actual ability and give them more creative freedom (the “Pee...

She's an international soccer star, an Olympic gold medalist and Maksim Chmerkovskiy's dream partner on Dancing with the Stars. Just don't call her sexy. "I still don't buy the idea that I'm a sex symbol," Solo, 30, tells Espn magazine in its annual Body Issue, in which she and a slew of other top athletes pose nude. "Sure, I've had marriage proposals, invitations to military balls and prom offers," she says. "But my entire purpose is trying to be the best, and if that exudes beauty too … it means the image of the typical female body type is finally evolving.

Athletes have been announced for Espn Magazine's "The Body Issue," which has athletes naked but strategically posed. I'm not a big expert on how famous these people are, but gymnast Alicia Sacramone, snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, soccer goalie Hope Solo, the NBA's Blake Griffin, Mlb's Jose Reyes, the NFL's Steven Jackson and hockey player Ryan Kesler made the list.
Whitman-Walker Health and the Mautner Project have announced a joint program for Glbt seniors called People Advocating for Lgbt Seniors (Pals) to address the needs of aging members of our community.
Disney Channel has gone to the dogs, literally, with Dog With a Blog about a talking, blogging canine. Hrmm. I wonder if he'd be willing to do a column for AfterElton.com
The Art of Habit is playing in Washington, D.C., and a familiar face is starring as Tim, an actor who isn't afraid to strip down to make a scene work.

Serena Williams and John McEnroe on June 9, 2010, in New York City. “Tell me about the French Open,” John McEnroe said to Serena Williams last night at an intimate gathering at a penthouse apartment in New York City, “because I thought you were going to win.” “I did too. I really did,” Williams said with genuine vulnerability. “I thought I had the singles title in my hand. I’m still recovering from that loss. I was able to win the doubles, but it just wasn’t the same. But I’m hoping I can take over the Wimbledon singles.” Williams had just flown in from Europe earlier that morning to help Nike launch its Air Max Trainer One, a women-specific cross-training shoe with roots dating back to McEnroe’s heyday. (In the 1980s, a Nike shoe designer had given McEnroe a prototype of an Air Trainer cross-trainer, telling McEnroe he could...

"Our picks are hotter than the torch here in Vancouver," Nancy tells "The Insider" host Lara Spencer. The bronze is awarded to beautiful snowboarder Clair Bidez; the silver goes to Gretchen Bleiler, also a snowboarder, who says, "Being a professional snowboarder, it's my job to be in the best shape." And the gold is reserved for Lindsey Vonn, who won a gold for Ladies' Downhill and a bronze for Ladies' Super-g. Lindsey's hot poses can be seen in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue on newsstands now.

Less than an hour 'til the prime time Olympics. Let's trip out! But wait: For which mesmerizing, kinda druggy At&T Olympics commercial are we in the mood? Is it the one set to The xx's "Intro," featuring ballroom dancing expert and Olympic Stud of Day 2 Apolo Ohno cutting grooves into a spinning "record" of ice? Or is it Gretchen Bleiler's snowboarding space odyssey set to Lou Reed's "Perfect Day"? Both are my favorite commercials of the Olympics so far -- I love the idea of chilled-out tunes paired with speedy sports. For me, snowboarding in space has...

Gretchen Bleiler is peaking at the right time. The 28-year-old snowboarder "went to a whole other level" at the Winter X Games last month to claim her record fourth superpipe title. "It feels amazing to win that. I finally stepped up to my potential," she tells TVGuide.com. "I know I'm capable of doing more at the Olympics." The Aspen, Colo., native, who nabbed silver in Torino, is back to win gold and is contemplating a never-before-landed trick in the women's competition to help her do it: the 1080 (three revolutions in the air).

Mike Manning arrived to "Real World D.C." thinking he'd help America get green. Instead, the Denver native has found himself as one of TV's most outspoken advocates for gay marriage.
He professes himself to be a "pile of contradictions": He's a jock and thespian. A Christian and bisexual.
Recently, Zap2it caught up "The Contradiction" in between traveling to promote the show.
The breakout MTV reality star spoke about coming out, what he really thinks of the other seven roomies and what we can expect from him in the future.
In the episode premiering Wednesday (Feb. 17), you're going to have a chat with your family about your sexuality. How did that go and how are you feeling about that?
I think it was good. My parents took it a lot better than a lot of people's parents take it. Now that the show is airing, a lot of...

We know it's hard to believe since on "Real World D.C.," Mike Manning is definitely not hurting for admirers. But when Zap2it talked with him about his Valentine's Day plans, we were shocked to hear he doesn't have any.
"It's gonna suck," says Mike. "I don't have a valentine." Obviously, his D.C. guy didn't stick around.
In fact, Mike is on a plane coming back from Boston Sunday (Feb. 14).
"I've been doing a lot of appearances to promote the show," explains Mike. "I've just been so busy right now that I don't even have time to date anybody."
The show's most experienced bisexual (D.C. roomie, Emily Schromm, is a bi newbie compared to Mike) finds himself single for the first time in five years, but it sounds like he's ready to mingle again.
"I had a serious girlfriend, then I had a serious boyfriend," says the Denver native.

Olympic ice skater, the fabulous Johnny Weir, has decided to stay in the Olympic Village for fear of his safety after "serious threats" from fur activists, the Associate Press reports.
Last month, Weir wore white fox fur on his costume in the free skate at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Fur activists went nuts and Weir says that both he and his costume designer received threats from animal rights groups.
He announced in early February that he would replace the fur with faux.
"I made this decision after several threats were sent to me about disrupting my performance in the Olympic Games and my costume designer, Stephanie Handler, was repeatedly sent messages of hate and disgust," said the flamboyant skater in a statement to press. "I do not want something as silly as my costume disrupting my second Olympic experience and my chance at a medal, a dream I...

The Winter Olympics will undoubtedly create a few new stars, just like they do every four years. Some previously unknown figure skater (we're looking at you, Rachael Flatt) or go-for-broke skier will turn in a breathtaking performance that, along with endless hours of TV coverage, will make him or her an instant household name.
That's all great, and it's part of the appeal of the Olympics. But the 2010 Winter Games also feature a fair number of athletes who've already made that crossover. Following in the footsteps of Dorothy Hamill, Peggy Fleming, the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" hockey team and others, these athletes have become recognizable outside the arena too -- and it turns out a couple of them are pretty fair dancers.
Here are 10 athletes whose names you probably already know.
Gretchen Bleiler: She won the silver medal in the women's halfpipe in 2006, and she's the best-known female snowboarder in the world at this point.

Eight ladies who can tough it out in the snow make up the Women's Us Team for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Lindsey Jacobellis is the first face in the preview video below. She won the silver medal in women's snowboard cross in 2006. She might have gotten the gold since she had a three-second lead over her competitor, but she decided to showboat with an unnecessary method grab on her last jump that caused her to mess up her landing and fall. That's got to sting. Here's hoping she can get the gold this time around.
Kelly Clark is also a member of the team. She won a gold for the women's halfpipe in the 2002 Winter Olympics, but didn't place in 2006 in Italy. Instead, she lost out to the following two teammates.

Left, Mark Ruffalo and Orlando Bloom at Oakley's Learn to Ride program; right, Naomi Watts and Kerry Washington at the party for their movie Mother and Child. The snowstorm that hovered over Park City the last several days left Utah with some of the best powder the state has seen in a while—some runs on the Park City mountain had snow that was knee-deep—so snow bunnies who had been invited to participate in Oakley’s Learn to Ride program on Sunday, when the flakes finally stopped falling and the sun was out, totally lucked out. After fueling up on Muscle Milk, guests including Orlando Bloom, Mark Ruffalo, and Marisa Tomei outfitted themselves in head-to-toe Oakley gear, were fitted with DC snowboarding boots, grabbed a snowboard, and headed to the mountain for a private lesson. We chased the powder in a chic blue jacket and white pants from Oakley’s Gretchen Bleiler line.

Steve Nash may not be the NBA's Woody Allen or Spike Lee yet, but he is becoming a triple threat in online video as a writer, director and (irreverent) actor.

Since starting a production company a couple of years ago, he's made viral Web shorts for brands like Nike and Vitaminwater and behind-the-scenes clips co-starring his Phoenix Suns.

Gretchen Bleiler. By Cole Barash. The first thing that struck me when I met 2006 Turin silver medalist Gretchen Bleiler earlier this year was how much bad ass is contained in such a little frame. After all, the five-foot-five-inch half-pipe snowboarder is best known for a daredevil trick called the Crippler 540—an inverted aerial move with one and a half rotations and a backflip. “But new for this year will be a Crippler 720,” the 28-year-old e-mailed me last week, “where you rotate 180 degrees more.” Yowsers. Bleiler was in New York City last summer unveiling her winter 2010 Oakley snowboarding outerwear and clothing line. After having skied Park City wearing her faux-fur-trimmed jacket, flattering snow pants, and super-soft organic T-shirts a few months before, I was looking forward to seeing her new pieces. From the playful urban hints on this season’s coat—including a graffiti graphic and toggle buttons—to snowboarding pants with an adjustable gathered cuff,...
