"Glee" is all about the cross-promotional love, so it comes as no surprise that Matthew Morrison's character, Mr. Schuester, will perform a single from Morrison's solo album on the May 24 season finale.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Morrison will sing "Still Got Tonight," a ballad co-written by "American Idol" season 8 winner Kris Allen, Andrew Frampton and Steve Kipner. Mr. Schue will reportedly sing the song alone on an empty stage during the show's New York-set finale.
Series creator Ryan Murphy, who directs the scene, had no problem including one of Morrison's songs.
"It worked because we wanted to do a scene where Matt goes into a Broadway hall and sings something alone," Murphy tells THR. "Plus, Matt is such a great team player and he's done so much for different Glee charities. We worked really hard to make it feel organic to the show."
Morrison apparently liked it so...

Matthew Morrison will sing an original song from his debut album in the 'Glee' season 2 finale.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Morrison will sing 'Still Got Tonight,' the first single off his self-titled album due out May 10.
'American Idol' season 8 winner Kris Allen co-wrote the track with Andrew Frampton and Steve Kipner. Morrison's Will Schuester will perform the ballad alone on a stage in an empty theater.
Original plans had Morrison performing a big dance number along with the song, but it was changed to allow Morrison to sing.
"It's about aspiration," 'Glee' co-creator Ryan Murphy told the Hollywood Reporter. "It worked because we wanted to do a scene where Matt goes into a Broadway hall and sings something alone. Plus, Matt is such a great team player and he's done so much for different 'Glee' charities.

Who knew you needed to keep up on football to feed your American Idol addiction? Yesterday afternoon, season 8 champ Kris Allen debuted three new songs from his forthcoming debut CD at a Miami Dolphins tailgate party. Two of the tracks -- "Before We Come Undone" and "Written All Over My Face" -- were ones I'd heard back in September, and asked Kris about when I interviewed him at Z100 the day he premiered "Live Like We're Dying." The third song, "Can't Stay Away," is one of 13 ditties that made the final track list for Kris' self-titled debut, due Nov. 17 from 19 Recordings/Jive.

Just a few days after "American Idol" winner Kris Allen tweeted that he finished his self-titled major-label debut (and misses Nickelodeon's "Doug," by the way), the full track listing for the November 17 album has been revealed.
While the debut had many musical cooks, according to the track listing obtained by Entertainment Weekly, it appears that songs co-written by fellow "Idol" alum Chris Daughtry, as well as those with singer/songwriter Mat Kearney, did not make the cut.

Kearney had previously told MTV News that the tune he was working on with Allen would rough up the squeaky-clean Conway, Arkansas, native's image. "It's driving ... it has some edge to it," Kearney said earlier this month.

New York — "American Idol" winner Kris Allen had a morning of firsts. He not only had the world premiere of his new single, "Live Like We're Dying," at New York radio station Z100, but it was also the first time he'd ever heard one of his songs on the radio.
"It was really cool. You dream of this day, you dream of having a single out and having it on the radio, so this was a cool day," he told radio DJ Elvis Duran and the Z100 morning-show team.
The strummy, sing-songy tune had apparently been earmarked as a single for Kris since he began working on his post-"Idol" album back in May. Allen told MTV News,...
