You can either love or hate zombies but the fact is they are one of the monsters that just refuse to lay down and die (again). A part of pop culture they are part of one of the most popular television shows in the form of The Walking Dead and have a strong influence in the gaming world with games such as Left 4 Dead. One of the problems though is they tend to lack originality, they need something to refresh them…could The Battery be the movie to do this?

It was announced recently that Shout! Factory would be bringing the title home, with one of its modern horror acquisitions under the Scream Factory Banner. Details have been scarce, including when we could expect the release to hit shelves, but Scream Factory have sent out a news blast today, detailing the release, its date, the extras and disc specifics. The title will be available beginning September 16th. And, believe it or not, it is a dollar cheaper to pre-order the title at Shout’s website, than it is to do so on Amazon. You should totally do that, so click here to do so. Below is all of the details you need about the release,...

“Two former baseball players, Ben (Jeremy Gardner) and Mickey (Adam Cronheim), cut an aimless path across a desolate New England. They stick to the back roads and forests to steer clear of the shambling corpses that patrol the once bustling cities and towns. In order to survive, they must overcome the stark differences in each other’s personalities—Ben embraces an increasingly feral, lawless, and nomadic lifestyle—while Mickey is unable to accept the harsh realities of the new world. Mickey refuses to engage in Ben’s violent games and longs for the creature comforts he once took for granted.
