If you’re a fan of animal clips that circulate the internet, or know anyone who is, you’ve caught a few clips of animal reunions, especially one that features Dr. Jane Goodall.
Now you’re going to get a chance to get the full story surrounding some of these reunions as Thirteen’s Nature brings Animal Reunions to PBS.
The show puts together several stories, with interviews and reunion footage, of the people who have rescued, raised, and/or bonded with animals that are now in the wild, and their journeys to discover what happens when they reunite with the animals.
As the views on some of these videos that have circulated will attest, the idea is fascinating, and getting a deeper exploration is something that you’re going to want to catch.

The "awww" factor in Discovery Channel's "Man, Cheetah, Wild," airing Thursday, Oct. 3, is off the charts because cheetah cubs are about as cute as cute gets.
The two-hour special is an intimate look into a mother and cubs in the Malilangwe Game Reserve, a 200-square-mile expanse in Zimbabwe, Africa. This has the feel of a home movie because Kim Wolhuter, a third-generation game ranger, is very much at home.
He prefers being barefoot in the stillness of the bush to wearing shoes in a bustling hotel in Beverly Hills, where he's chatting. Unlike most angling to make documentaries and finding themselves in Hollywood, Wolhuter is a filmmaker "to make ends meet," he says, to sustain his lifestyle.
"Everything where it was shot is total wilderness," he says to Zap2it. "I don't carry a weapon. When you carry a weapon, you tend to use it far sooner than you mean to.

In November, Nat Geo Wild will present a special pitting two NFL players in a race against the fastest land animal. And tonight, Discovery Channel debuts the even more fascinating, and quite touching, two-hour special Man Cheetah Wild. Man Cheetah Wild follows Kim Wolhuter, a filmmaker and one-time game ranger with a unique ability to bond with the animals of his native Zimbabwe. Wolhuter’s approach has allowed him incredible access into the secretive world of cheetahs. In particular, one cheetah family accepted him as part […]

Discovery Channel is taking an up-close look at a family of wild cheetahs -- and the man who walked among them for a year and a half -- in a new special. Man, Cheetah, Wild, a two-hour special debuting at 9 p.m. Oct. 3, follows onetime game ranger turned filmmaker Kim Wolhuter as he follows a family of cheetahs in his native Zimbabwe. Wolhuter not only studies these animals but also lives their way of life -- drinking where they do, finding food on the move and running alongside them. Meanwhile, the animals accept him as part of their family.
