Clive Barker’s Nightbreed begins with the sort of gory bloodletting that one expects from the writer-director. The film, based on Barker’s 1988 novella Cabal, introduces us to a masked slasher who’s soon revealed to be Phillip Decker (David Cronenberg), a therapist who’s been slowly drugging and manipulating a patient, Aaron Boone (Craig Sheffer), into believing that he’s responsible for the doctor’s recent crimes. But just as soon as we’re primed for a perverse spin on the psychological horror genre, Nightbreed wildly pivots in a totally different direction.
Decker arranges a scenario that will result in Boone being shot at by police before anyone asks questions, but as Sheffer’s patsy is drawn into a cemetery, he’s confronted by humanoid monsters. Though Decker’s plan works and Boone is torn apart by bullets, the man rises from the dead due to his exposure to the monsters,...

Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch Season 19 continues to show the fisherman navigating the Bering Sea — and it certainly isn’t easy. Throughout all 19 seasons of the show, viewers have seen boats capsize and fishermen die due to unfortunate accidents at sea. So, what happened to Jeff Hathaway and the F/V Destination? Here’s what to know.
What happened to Jeff Hathaway and the F/V Destination from ‘Deadliest Catch’?
Captain Jeff Hathaway and the F/V Destination were once featured on Deadliest Catch. Unfortunately, Jeff and the rest of the crew died while aboard the Destination when it sank on Feb. 11, 2017.
So, what happened? The Destination sank while in the Bering Sea, and it seems the boat’s owner and captain didn’t ensure the vessel was prepared for the waters. Captain Lee Boone, director of investigations for the Coast Guard, said the Destination was “in a vulnerable condition” when it sank,...

“Truth won’t win the battle… menace will,” tough-as-nails “Yellowstone” patriarch John Dutton utters coldly and indignantly in the lead-up to the devastating conclusion of a rip-roaring first half of the Paramount Network blockbuster’s fifth season. The first eight episodes of the show’s fifth season concluded in January, so fans of TV’s top-rated show are now clamoring for the series’ return. The second half of the season is due later this year, promising even more bloodshed and tears, political in-fighting, back-stabbing, fist-fights and corporate scheming set against the breathtaking backdrop of the unforgiving Montana wilderness.
In the meantime, to tide you over until the show’s return and to celebrate the acclaimed first half of Season 5, watch our special 40-minute “Making of” roundtable discussion with six key behind-the-scenes crafts artisans — costume designer Johnetta Boone, Emmy-nominated production designer Yvonne Boudreaux, editor Chad Galster A.C.E., makeup department head Greg Moon,...

Cue that iconic theme music because X-Men: The Animated Series is coming back in a big way! Many a Saturday morning was defined by sitting in front of the television and watching Charles Xavier’s gifted youngsters save the day in their colourful spandex, but it’s been nearly 26 years since X-Men: The Animated Series bowed out with the acclaimed “Graduation Day,” and while the likes of X-Men: Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men have their merits, they’ve paled in comparison to The Animated Series.

Historical dramas have a difficult path to tread because the last half is often undone by the first. There's still opportunity though to, as with the best documentary, tell an interesting story in an interesting way. Air doesn't quite clear the bar.
In a pantheon that includes Ali (Ali), Beane and Boone, Clough (The Damned United) and more, sporting biopics can highlight moments those casually aware of their subjects might not know, but they still end up stuck between theories of history. Are they great men or products of great eras? Upon whose shoulders do these giants stand? Or, as is the case here, within whose shoes do these giants walk?
Here that's the decision facing number three NBA draft pick Michael Jordan, all the way back in nineteen-eighty-four. Nike have a basketball division whose struggling doesn't prevent office games of Trivial Pursuit or...
